Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowthere has been no attempt made by the dealer to make this rightI brought my vehicle in to have it fixed under the warranty that Ford Motor Company offersNot to have it damagedI should not have to worry about this kind of stuff happening when I bring my vehicle into the dealer to use the warranty that came with the $35k vehicle I purchasedThe cap was defective from the time I purchased the vehicleI sense that the service manager thinks I'm lying about that or somethingAgain, the ding is protruding outward indicating that it was dinged from behind the sheet metal where the fuel filler door hinge retracts behind the quarter quarter panelIt is so obvious that Huston Ford's service department caused this damage I cannot believe that they deny it Regards, [redacted]

To Whom It May Concern,We at Huston Ford are writing this letter to respond to a complaint brought to your attention by customer who had his vehicle serviced at our facility [redacted] stopped at Huston Ford and wanted to show me, the Service Manager, how his fuel filler door was not closing properlyI walked out to the vehicle and could immediately see the fuel filler door was out of alignment and not flush with the body lines of the vehicle and very visible to the naked eye from approximately feet awayIt was obvious to me the fuel filler housing was damaged or broken and causing the fuel filler door to not align with the body lines of the vehicle what so everI asked Mr [redacted] what had happened to it because it was obvious that something had happened due to the degree of which it was out of alignment and not a part defectMr [redacted] stated to me that the door had been like that since he had purchased the vehicle and he thought it was until he had seen the filler doors on other like vehiclesThis got my attention immediately because the filler door was so obviously not normalI obtained the vehicle identification number from the vehicle and checked the vehicle and warranty history and found no warranty repair history in relation to the fuel filler doorI then reviewed the repair procedure and parts cost with a technicianI then spoke a little further with Mr [redacted] to find he had recently moved to the area and it was his first trip to our facilityI once again inspected the fuel filler door to find no damage on the door itselfI returned to Mr [redacted] and I asked him again what had happened and he again stated the vehicle had been like that since he bought itI knew something would have had to have happened to the housing to have caused the concern, but I gave Mr [redacted] the benefit of the doubt and decided to warranty the fuel filler housing for him and hopefully start a good relationship between him and our facility for some time to come.I received the fuel filler housing and contacted Mr [redacted] for an appointmentHe showed up for an appointment on 4/11/and we replaced the fuel filler housing as previously discussedWe followed the repair procedure included in this letter and had no problems or concerns when following the proper repair procedureMr [redacted] was contacted to be informed the vehicle was finished and he could pick it upMr [redacted] picked the vehicle up and checked to confirm the door was tight and stated "all seemed well" as per his complaintMr [redacted] then returned to the dealership 5/16/and stated he had something to show meWe walked out to the vehicle where he showed me rock chips in the paint on the front bumper of the car and also on the sides of the car that he thought was a factory defect in the paintI explained to him that rock chips were not defects in the paint, but concerns from an outside influence and that they are not warrantable repairsIt was then at that time that Mr [redacted] attempted to point out dings forward of the fuel filler door, one going in and one protruding out and stated he thought that was a result of the repairs previously performedI thought this was odd he was more concerned about rock chips all over the vehicle as opposed to the damage we had allegedly causedAfter careful examination I was able to see the concerns he hadI asked Mr [redacted] to have a seat in the waiting room while I once again reviewed the repair procedure and consulted with the technician who had worked on the vehicleWe reviewed the job and repair procedure in which he had no concerns when completing the repair and everything went smoothly with the repairWe reviewed the procedure to see if possibly doing something would have accidently caused the damage but found no such evidence due to the way the housing is secured to the vehicle simply by plastic clips approximately to inches away from the affected body panel and no screws or fasteners or anything occurs at that spotI returned to Mr [redacted] and reviewed the repair procedure with him and conveyed to him that I feel very strongly we are not responsible for the damage he is showing meHe asked my opinion what had happened to it then at which time I conveyed that it probably occurred when the damage was done to the fuel filler housing by whatever broke it, he once again stated he purchased the vehicle like thatMr [redacted] then attempted to bash us on social media outlets which led me to look into the matter a little furtherUpon my investigation I found a picture of Mr [redacted] 's vehicle dated 10/23/which clearly showed the fuel filler door to be sitting perfectly aligned on the vehicle months after his in service date of 8/22/This was a complete opposite of the way the vehicle came in here originally with the fuel filler door completely misaligned and out of place visible from feet away contradicting Mr [redacted] 's statements that he had purchased the vehicle like that and thought it was normal. Our position here at Huston Ford is that we are not responsible for the damage to Mr [redacted] 's vehicle for the following reasons:1) Repair procedure clearly shows that no tools are used in the area of the damage and the fuel filler housing simply clips into the designated holes after the old housing is removedNo tools need to be used inside or outside of the area that is in question for these repairsSee attached repair procedure.2) Customer returned days after picking up the vehicle and inspecting to find "all appeared well"Damage could have occurred anytime before the repair or anytime in the days after.3) The enclosed pictures of Mr [redacted] 's vehicle and fuel filler cap clearly show there are no concerns with the alignment of the fuel filler cap that were obviously visible when he initially showed me the concern and stated several times that it was like that since he bought itIt clearly was not like that since he bought it because that picture was dated 10/23/and his in service date was 8/22/Picture was months after in service dateSee enclosed pictures. In closing I do not know what originally caused the damage to Mr [redacted] 's fuel filler housing, but I do know something did and I do know he has not been honest with me when he stated that it was like that since he had purchased the vehicleI do know that following the correct repair procedure basically makes it impossible for the damage of his complaint to occurWe have been in business for over years in this community and we got here by taking responsibility for what we did right in addition for what we did wrongIf I felt we were responsible for this damage in any way I would take care of the damage without question with full authority from the owner of the dealership because that is how we do things here, unfortunately for all parties involved we are unable to come to that conclusion.Sincerely,Isaac R [redacted] maService ManagerHuston FordID [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
there has been no attempt made by the dealer to make this right. I brought my vehicle in to have it fixed under the warranty that Ford Motor Company offers. Not to have it damaged. I should not have to worry about this kind of stuff happening when I bring my vehicle into the dealer to use the warranty that came with the $35k vehicle I purchased. The cap was defective from the time I purchased the vehicle. I sense that the service manager thinks I'm lying about that or something. Again, the ding is protruding outward indicating that it was dinged from behind the sheet metal where the fuel filler door hinge retracts behind the quarter quarter panel. It is so obvious that Huston Ford's service department caused this damage   I cannot believe that they deny it.
