We are filing a response to complaint # *** The customer came in to our store on September 29, requesting a oil and filter changeMy service advisor performed a vehicle walk around and noticed multiple issues with the exterior of this vehicle; including, dents, scratches, spare
tire and impact damage to bumperOur technician performed the requested serviceWe also provided a complimentary visual inspection of her vehicle. At time of inspection, we noted she needed four tires that were dry rotted with a measurement of 3/32 and 5/32, front brakes were at 2mm, and she needed new wiper blades. Customer declined any further services to be performed. My service technician did not noticed whether there was or was not lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The customer returned with the vehicle on Monday October 2, in the afternoon. She dealt with our shop foreman and service advisor. She stated that her "service engine soon" and "red oil light" were onOur employees went to her car and they rechecked the oil level. The oil was full on the dipstickAt this time, the customer became irate and verbally abusive to our employees, and making racial comments while other employees and customers were present. My shop foreman explained to the customer, that he was an experience Ford Certified Technician, doing this work for 30+ years. He is very qualified and knowledgeable about vehicles. He informed the customer that her oil level was full and the cartridge oil filter was installed properlyThere was not anything that we did while replacing her oil and filter, that would have caused her current issues. Directly from the owners manual from her Nissan Versa, "the red oil light means Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light, the light warns of low oil pressure. The engine oil pressure warning light is not designed to indicate a low oil level. Use the dipstick to check the oil level." The "Service Engine Soon" light indicates a potential emission control malfunction. Neither of these lights are directly related to an engine oil change service. James Collins Ford will not be reimbursing the customer back for rental charges. James Collins Ford did not accidently put the oil into the wrong fluid container as the customer suggested. James Collins Ford will not repair the issues, because her issues are not a direct result of the oil change
