I had HVAC Management install a new heat pump in November 2018 for a cost of $3000. I was experiencing problems with my overall heating system, and since the heat pump was under warranty, I asked HVAC Management to come out and take a look at it. He (Ed W, of HVAC Management) gave me a run around saying that his schedule was really tight and that he couldn't come look at it since I was so far away.

This went on several times before I had someone else come out to look at the unit and they told me that the heat pump that was installed was not compatible with my air handler and was now damaged because it was struggling to work properly.

Again, I went back to HVAC Management, and, again, I got the story about being too far for him to travel.

I had the new company install a complete heating system, which cost me an additional $5200.

Thank you for taking the time to read my response and address my concern and hear my side of the story regarding complaint # ***. I have been in business for myself for six years and pride myself on customer service. I have never had a complaint whether public or private against my company. I installed the unit in question for my customer in November of 2018. I went back at least twice with no charge to my customer to take care of a few incidental set up features of the new outdoor unit. I also addressed issues unrelated to my installation and replaced the thermostat, again with no charge to my customer. Due to my schedule and continuing conflicts with the customer’s schedule, I was unable to addresss the final issue she had and she decided to have a local company come out and address her issue. The unit was under warranty and could be handled as such regardless of the installing contractor. My customer chose to replace the entire system which was not necessary and was told inaccurately that the system was not compatible when in fact it was and was sized and replaced correctly. The company that came out after I did sold her a bill of goods and defrauded her by replacing the entire system when it was not necessary. The air handler (indoor unit) works in conjunction with the outdoor unit but would not have failed if there was an issue with the outdoor unit. The second company took advantage of her and saw a chance to get revenue from her and sold her a complete system replacement when a simple repair could have fixed the problem. I tried several times to make appointments and could never make the time or day work with my customer. The system was installed in November 2018 and the problem in question did not manifest itself until June of 2019 so apparently the system function without issue for 8 months so it was installed properly and was compatible with the indoor unit. I stand by my installation of this unit, it was done correctly and did match the existing indoor unit. The unit had a ten year warranty and what I fixed was covered under the warranty. For someone to come out and condemn the entire system as a result of a minor problem did my customer a disservice. There is no option for financial restitution that will be offered on my part.
