 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:The information the business is claiming to have provided about the pump to me is not accurate, considering I wasn't home at the time of diagnostics. It was never explained to me about the style pump and what is involved in that pumps operation. Never, once was my wife or I offered the option to repair the pump. As stated in my compliant the pump was only two years old, installed by American pumps, which Aaron bashed as a " shady" organization. As for the repair, I did state in my compliant that they sent a technician out for a temporary repair. Last time, I checked plumbers putty was not considered a permenant repair. After speaking with the owner, I was informed that a permenant repair would be completed when the weather broke, because that had to shut off the valve at the curb box. It was explained that when they came back they would make the necessary repairs to correct the leak and support to pipe, which they removed and installed. So as it stands I still have a sewage leak coming from the piping of the grinder pump and I am out over $4000 for a pump that truly didn't need to have installed.  I was also informed by Hydro Dynamics that our community would only allow these new high price units to installed, which I learned after contact our home owners association is completely false. I have already made contact with my Lawyer [redacted], and we felt that it would be in everyone's best interest to come to some sort of agreement using the Revdex.com. My Lawyer reviewed all the provided documentation and feels extremely confident, if we need to proceed with legal action. It appears Hydro Dynmaic is unwilling to work with their customer and accept any responsibility for their poor workmanship and misdiagnosis of our grinder pump.  So if this is truly the case , we will be forced to take legal action. I will also, make it a point to make members of our community aware of poor ethics and workmanship of Hydro Dynamics. So I will leave it up to Hydro Dymanics to determine how they want to purse this compliant. They can do the right thing and stand behind their product and service, or they can do the wrong thing and risk lots of poor negative attention to their business.

[redacted] contacted Hydrodynamics Inc. on 1-27-15 and
requested us to evaluate the problem of his...

failed grinder pump. His basement
where the grinder pump is located the basin had filled to an alarm level. We
had pulled the pump to find out this pump is a [redacted] centrifugal 2 horsepower
grinder pump. This pump had a failed internal motor component. As per
the initial complaint from homeowner, he didn't ask about any motor relay,
as the solid state relay located in the control
panel tested operational I had no reason to discuss other that an
internal motor failure. The pump was tripping the dedicated
circuit to the pump.  The failure was inside the pump,
depending on what exactly failed inside the motor we were
unsure of but a motor or motor component had failed. I personally contacted the
company that broke down the pump for the insurance company and he had explained
that the pump was a motor failure, the motor start switch inside of the unit. This
is a motor component. I had informed the homeowner as this pump could be
repaired but this is an oil filled motor and we cannot break down the pump
onsite and we do not repair these pumps. I also explained the down
time that would be required without a pump in the basin and the dwelling
would have not facilities e.g. toilets, sinks, washing machine. Basically no
water could be used.   Based upon our evaluation it was a definite
failure inside of the pump but as stated before.  I also explained as this
pump was a centrifugal pump and as per manufacturer requirements must be submersed
in water at all times to disperse heat made by pump motor. Thus,
this cannot be achieved with this basin, setting the levels on and off set
points correctly. [redacted] also explained that this pump
was approximately several years old, he or his wife had first
stated we installed the pump, but we do not install this brand. This
was the point when we advised the homeowner of a replacement grinder pump
with a guaranteed warranty of 2 years parts and labor. Basically, this is a
bumper to bumper coverage for the pump.  We are an Environment One dealer
and these pumps are the "Cadillac" of grinder pumps warranty,
longevity, serviceability, and reliability. The motors are air cooled and the
pump being completely submersed is not required, therefore we felt this
selection of pump would fit [redacted]’s pump requirements. I spoke to the
homeowner informed him of the pricing and he had agreed. We then installed the
pump. [redacted] also asked me if the pump would be covered under his homeowner’s
policy. I stated to him the most common of instances of failure of which are likely
covered surges and lightning strikes, thus normal wear and tear would not, he
would have to consult his policy. He was adamant that it would submit a claim
and hopefully would be covered. It wasn't until his homeowner policy rejected
the claim that this complaint came forward. On that note, we did accept
responsibility of not adding additional support to the piping. The new
pump was connected to the existing piping in the structure utilizing all of
what was a prior connection. On 2-2-15 [redacted] contacted
Hydrodynamics Inc. and had stated he had a leak and the pipe was not supported
correctly. We sent a technician out to evaluate the problem. The pipe was
leaking at the wall and had caused no property damage. The pipe was repaired
and re-secured at no cost to the homeowner. The origin of the leak was from the
poor workmanship from the prior installer. In closing, all serviceable components
were properly tested by Hydrodynamics including the serviceable solid state
relay in the control panel. All field serviceable components were tested. The
motor, which is not field serviceable, would have been required to be sent to a
motor shop for repair as was done by homeowner insurance company. The homeowner
chose to replace the pump based upon the inconveniences of no facilities with
the pump removed for an extended period of time and unknown repair cost.
