HyperTech promised a $25 dollar gas card with the purchase of a [redacted], which they failed to send to me. HyperTech promised a $25 dollar gas card with the purchase of a [redacted], which they failed to send to me. I have spoken with 5 or 6 different people at HyperTech in [redacted], TN. No one can tell me why they won't send me the $25 gas card. I have many e-mails between myself and them documenting my attempt to try and obtain the $25 gas card. They have finally, just refused to respond at all. Desired SettlementI want the $25 gas card as promised. Business Response Mr. [redacted] did contact Hypertech about a $25.00 gas card. On July 22, 2013 we mailed a card based on the paperwork that he supplied. We sent a Shell Card # [redacted] for his purchase of our part number [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] told our salesman that he purchased another qualifying Hypertech product. To date, we have not received the paperwork to process his card. Our belief is the paperwork mailed by Mr. [redacted] was lost by the carrier. I am sure a second product was purchased but we have not received: [redacted] of the Sales Invoice showing him as the purchaser, the part number of the unit and the serial number. Once the documentation is received, a $25.00 gas card will be awarded. Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I have sent the paperwork 3 times, twice by mail and once by fax. I have registered both [redacted] with their website for warranty purposes. I most recently faxed the receipt to "[redacted]" at Hypertech, who is supposed to be sending me the $25 gas card. However; have not received it yet. Final Business Response The following is a copy of a letter sent to Mr. [redacted] with his $25.00 gas card. November 5, 2013 [redacted] Mr. [redacted]: Please find enclosed the $25 gas card for your [redacted] purchase from [redacted] on September 15, 2013. We regret the delay in processing the paperwork to send you your card. Please accept our apologies for not being able to handle your submission in a more timely manner. Thank you for your support of Hypertech products, and we look forward to serving your high performance needs again in the future. Sincerely, [redacted]Controller, Hypertech Enclosure cc: [redacted], CEO [redacted]ControllerHypertech, Inc.[redacted]fax: [redacted]

Programmer caused vehicle problems, spark knock, loss of power while towingHypertech part # 42000 for 2000 ford Excursion. They advertise 17 hp gain and 34ft lbs tq gain. My Excursion has only 28,000 miles on it. The programmer caused serious spark knock while towing even while I was using premium fuel on their regular setting.Pre detonation spark knock can burn holes in the pistons of the engine.I experienced a loss of power while towing from stock, not a gain as advertised.I just want my money back for a product that did not help, but actually hurt my tricks towing performance.Desired SettlementI want the purchase price refunded!Business' Initial Response **. [redacted] emailed our tech support department on July 5, 2013 about issues he was having with his Hypertech programmer. That day we replied to **. [redacted] request additional information about his vehicle and explaining that the unit comes with a 30 day money back guarantee to the original owner of the programmer. **. [redacted] purchased the unit in 2011; we have requested him to provide the serial number and a copy of the paperwork showing him to be the original buyer of the programmer. We have offered to upgrade the unit will a new tuning calibration for his vehicle but he is not willing to provide serial number of documentation of the purchase neither is he willing to accept our help on a new tuning calibration. He has told us installed the programmer in 2011 and drove it very little due to the weather and as he put it "it's a Garage Toy", so we understand it can have been driven very few miles since it was installed but it is 2 years old. We are willing to work with **. [redacted] but without documentation and willingness on his part to accept our help, our hands are tied at this point. To go forward with working out a resolution we need (1) the serial number of the programmer, and (2) copy of the paperwork showing **. [redacted] as the original purchaser. Consumer's Final Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)On July 10th I provided Hypertech with the model and serial number of the programmer.I was told that the programmer leaned out my fuel mixture and what my truck needs is a Richer fuel mixture. Their tech department told me that was not possible, so I am not sure what they mean by an updated program, if they cannot richen up the fuel mixture, it would be a waste of time and I do not trust their programmer at this point. I use this truck only to tow in the summer, and I wont be taking anymore trips until next May, so I cannot test anything until then. The only way to test it is towing my 32' RV over the mountains here in Oregon. I am not willing to have any problems on that trip, with a program I do not trust.I just want my money back.If they cannot richen the fuel mixture then anything else they do with an update will NOT work for my truck. So what is the point of that?I did buy it new, everything is complete in the box just like when I purchased it.Business' Final Response We received the serial number. The programmer was not purchased from Hypertech. It was sold to a dealer. We have to have a copy of the invoice showing the amount paid and he purchased the unit new from dealer.

Warranty not granted when neededI purchased a hypertech thermometer power chip from a venue back in 1986, I recently started having problems with the chip, so I called hypertech up and they gave me specific instructions to prove to them that the chip was malfunctioning. So, I received a claim number with them and found out the engine code and part number of my ECM. A few days later I called them back with the information and then the worker(different person) there proceeded to tell me that I needed the original receipt from 28 years ago, then when I stated to them that, that wasn't what the other guy told me last time, the gentleman proceeded to say that he doesn't know if the car was sold 10 times and who knows what happened to it, when I told him the car was in my family from new he then proceeded to revert back to his previous statement, which was that I needed a receipt Desired SettlementI just want a replacement chip,as their warranty states "All Hypertech products are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for as long as the customer owns the vehicle. Hypertech's liability under this warranty shall be limited to prompt correction or replacement of any defective part of the product that Hypertech determines to be necessary." I believe I fit in this category as the car has never left my family and the vehicle is still on the road. Business Response Mr. [redacted], was sent a replacement for shipping and handling cost of $25.00. The replacement was shipped from Hypertech 1/15/2014 and delivered by [redacted] 1/17/2014. Our written policy, found published in our catalog, on our website and provided with the product states the requirement of providing documentation of purchase invoice. I belive that Mr. [redacted]'s resolution as requested was provided. Warranty Policy: Hypertech's Product Warranty as stated in our catalog, installation instructions and printed literature. All Hypertech Power Tuning Products are warranted against defects in materials or workmanship. Hypertech's liability under this warranty shall be limited to the prompt correction or replacement of any defective part of the product which Hypertech determines to be necessary. "This Limited Lifetime Warranty is to the original purchaser for as long as he or she owns the vehicle on which the product is originally installed, providing all the information requested is furnished." You must retain a copy of your original sales invoice or receipt. Without proper documentation a service fee will be applied. Resold units are NOT covered under this warranty.

Refused to provide service guaranteed on website.Originally purchased Calibrator part number XXXXXX serial number XXXXXXX on August 6th, 2014. I made an error and didn't "unprogram" unit before performing other maintenance on vehicle. When I called their tech support, two people accused me of trying to steal their product or worse, commit a crime (even though the unit itself said "call 800 number for service"). The were denigrating and not helpful at all.Desired SettlementI would like them to "reset" the unit. I am even willing to pay for that service.Business Response A Hypertech tech spoke with Mr. [redacted] yesterday (7/13/15) and offered to reset the Speedometer Calibrator for $135; we also offered the same several times during phone conversations. In the complaint under resolution he states he wants the unit reset and is even willing to pay for that service; if that is the case why file the complaint when we made the offer to reset for our standard fee. He used our Speedometer Calibrator and then used another brand of tuning product [redacted] and his vehicle, the [redacted] program overwrote the Hypertech programming; even if the Hypertech is reset and uses with the other product [redacted] he will have the same issues. Our product is not designed to work with other tuning products. Regardless we will reset for the $135 allowing him to resale or he may elect not you use the [redacted] tuning product. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Their representative didn't offer to reset, because they did not speak to me on 13 July. There is another lie. On the 13th of July I was doing [redacted] at 0730 in the morning, Pacific Time. Not once during the day did a Hypertech Rep speak to me.So, the offer of resetting for a fee, never happened in June, and they didn't call/speak to me in July.[redacted] and [redacted] were the names of the people that were accusatory on the phone back in June. These are the things they told me:"It's against the Law". "You might have a different truck." "You might resell the unit." [redacted] isn't buttoned up."That was the only answers I was given on the phone, and they did not call me otherwise.Final Business Response In our first response, we offered to reset the Hypertech product as requested in his complaint. Mr. [redacted] stated in a post he made on [redacted] June 30, that we did offer to reset his programmer for him, for a price, when we originally spoke with him.
