Hyundai of White Plains Reviews (12)

Review: I leased a 2011 Hyundai Sonata in July of 2011 from Hyunda of [redacted]. I leased my vehicle from a salesman named [redacted]. The day after my visit [redacted] quit and other people had to scramble to complete my lease. I returned my lease after it was over deciding not to lease another Hyundai. In August I received a bill for a $400 disposition fee plus $29.50 tax. I tried to contact Hyundai online, however they only allow you 500 characters. Here is what I sent: I recd a bill for a $400 disposition chg I read online this is a huge deception on ur part. I leased my veh from a man named [redacted]. The day after, he quit w/o providing me info he promised. He never told me of this fee. I would like a stmt from you confirming that he made this fee clear. I est that I paid $13,000 in fees for this car. The new car cost approx. $25k. resale value approx 18k. Thats $29-30K for you. with 500 char how can I complain I wonder what 7 on ur side thinks I received a generic response stating that they would send me a copy of the original lease which I have now received. I see the $400 charge stuck in the middle of the first line of charges which includes 4 total charges. The last amount on that first line is the "total of payments - the amount you will have paid by the end of the lease). I note this amount of $13,677.50 does NOT include the $400 disposition fee which is listed right next to it. The total includes all the other figures on that line, but not the disposition fee. A little deceptive don't you think? Nor have I initialed next to that fee to confirm I have been clearly notified of it, which I was not. "Disposition fee" as referred to on the back page says absolutely nothing of reason. It also still does not confirm I was told of the fee. I have done some research online and see that this is a common complaint of Hyundai owners. You want us to pay $400 plus tax so that you can resell my lease? Even thought it had to be inspected prior to turning in to make sure it is in resale shape? Again, I believe this is a very deceptive practice. I took out a lease that shows my total payments are $13,677.50 and now you want another $400 PLUS TAX. If you want to charge this fee, you should have a separate form for all lease holders to sign, not just stick the fee in the middle of the page with no confirmation that it is ever explained. I do not feel I should pay this fee which is why I am writing to you all. I also intend to contact consumer affairs to look into the practice. I am surely NOT a satisfied Hyundai customer. Please get back to me at your earliest convenience. My phone number is ###-###-####. I work all day, so you can reach me after 5pm. In the interim, please have your accounting department hold any billings until this is resolved. I will not have this affect my credit. Thank you [redacted]Desired Settlement: Removal of Disposition Fee

Review: purchased a car from this dealer on 10/**/15, dealer listed vehicle on Autotrader for $28,995.00, showed dealer trade vehicle, negotiated trade on advertised price, dealer at one point tried to charge a $2,995.00 prep fee which we refused, dealer dropped fee, salesman showed accurate selling price on hand written sheet a couple times, never discussed any additional fees after this point, owner became involved when we attempted to leave dealership, owner stated he was willing to sell his car at a loss as he had the car in inventory over one hundred days, instructed us to sit with financial person who printed all the documents, financial person folded documents and requested a signature, at no time were we shown any other price for the dealer vehicle, financial person put documents into pouch and sent us home, looked at documents on 10/**/15 and saw that dealer had added $5,000.00 to selling price of his car without notifying us, we suggested to sales manager that we bring their car back and cancel deal, the sales manager refusedDesired Settlement: to bring the sales price of their car back to the advertised price or return their car

Review: I finalized the purchased of my very first car ever and from this dealership on December *, 2013. A few days later I had to take the car in to have emissions testing done and was told that it had failed meaning that I would not be able t register my car. I decided to bring the car into a mechanic to see what the problem was, why it had failed and was told the car needed a new "Crankshaft". Since then, my check engine light as also been on. I was told the care was in excellent mechanical condition, not problems whatsoever. In addition, I have been trying to contact the individual I purchased the car from since Wednesday, 12/* to no avail. The one time I did reach him he said the personal responsible for scheduling the repairs was not in and has been dodging my phone calls every since. What I find interesting about this is the fact that the finance people, [redacted](sp?) and his partner [redacted] literally called me several times leading up to my arrival to the dealership. They were relentless in their pursuit and now I can't get anyone to return my phone calls which I think is ridiculous! Please help.Desired Settlement: I want them to either fix EVERYTHING that is mechanically wrong with the car or put me in a different car that has no mechanical issues.

Review: I purchased a car from this dealership on May [redacted] 2015. using a trade-in vehicle. I was told that in 5-7 days my old financing institution will get the pay-off for my old vehicle. It has been 3 weeks, I have incurred a late charge and I am being threatened by Honda that they will report me to the credit bureaus in a week. I email and call Hyundai daily and I just get the round a round. The more days go by the higher the pay off is.Desired Settlement: It's in my contract that they would pay off my trade-in so they need to cut a check as soon as possible. It's been 21 days already.

Review: On November *, 2014 I went into Hyundai of White Plains to purchase a Santa Fe vehicle. The first vehicle showed by dealer, was beyond my price range. I was offered an verbal deal, if I choose a used Santa Fe 2014, with $5,000.00 down, the finance person of the deal would "throw in" an additional 10 year, 100K bumper to bumper warranty with sale price of vehicle. When I inquired about the itemized price list, the dealer ensured me the $1900 was for tires and rims, and additional pricing was for taxes and fees. After signing the contract, I realized the dealer had given me false hope. An addition to this, before car was to be driven off the dealers lot, a cracked windshield was noticed by my husband on the passenger side. My entire complaints in regards to this case is, I was given false information, I had not signed a finance agreement to the contract, I was never given a copy of the purchase order, the dealer failed to disclosed the vehicle was a rental with 19,000 plus mileage on the paperwork, I had to travel back and forth to the dealer from my residents in the Bronx, the car remains in their lot, I had a courtesy car from date of my down payment. I asked to end all deals and my $5,000 to be reimburse so that I can purchase a car at another dealer so my family has transportation. The dealer will not satisfied the customer, even as they are at fault for their mistakes, and unprofessional way of handling this deal.Desired Settlement: To be issued my full refund in the amount of $5,000 paid to my credit card.

Review: Leased a 2013 Hyundai Elantra in April, 2013. Since August 2013 we have been having problems with the alarm system. Keeps going off by itself. The car has been to the service department numerous times, once for almost one month for them to repair it. They either cannot find the problem or claim they fix it only to get it back and it starts all over again. Contacted a Lemon Law attorney who took the case, but the manager told us he could not deal with us as long as we had a legal case going and advised us to drop the case so he would be able to assist us in getting out of the lease. We have done everything they advised, but are continuing to have the problem. We had the "bluelink" system on the car which advises us when the alarm goes off. The manager told us the problem was with the blulink system so we cancelled it but that did not solve the problem either and then we didn't have proof of when the alarm was going off so I put it back on February **, 2014. From February **through February **the alarm went off 110 times (bluelink printout). My neighbors are calling me and sending me e-mails because it is such a disturbance. I have contacted the dealership, Hyundai Customer Care Center - Case #[redacted] - on February [redacted], 2014 and February **, 2014 - sent letters (as well as fax) to Hyundai Motor America in Fountain Valley, CA to [redacted], VP of Customer Satisfaction and [redacted], [redacted]. To date, I have not received any response except from [redacted] ([redacted], Hyundai of White Plains), telling me he cannot deal with me since I have established communication with Hyundai Corporate. The only solution the service department came up with is for us to disconnect the battery every night and reconnect it when we need the car. I have copies of all correspondence/bills.Desired Settlement: We originally wanted an exchange of the vehicle but as I do not wish to have any future dealings with Hyundai, we would like a refund of all monies we have spent to date, including the $1500 plus we paid to the dealership at time of lease, and all monies paid toward the lease AND to get out of the lease without penalty.

Review: On Sept.**,2013,my husband([redacted]) went to Hyundai White Plains because of engine problem(misfire, spark plug problem) trying to repair by warranty .They estimated replace of spark plug, wire $650 plus transmission oil change$200 total $850 but it was too expensive ,my husband wanted to pick up car to repair in other repair shop. But they requested to pay Diagnosis Fee$130 ,my husband asked Diagnosis Sheet on condition payment but they rejected it .My husband continuously requested it but they rejected,My son who ride my husband there and awaited near other repair shop and my son rushed my husband to come there because he should do something,my husband get upset and paid it thinking seek Diagnosis Sheet later.By phone, email, through Hyundai Motors USA ,we asked Diagnosis Sheet but they rejected it ,so we asked refund $130 but they are rejecting it. As for diagnosis,my husband and his friend ,Auto [redacted](###-###-####,worked in Auto Body) went to Auto Zone and found engine problem is misfired by diagnosis kit and [redacted] supposed the replacement of spark plug.My husband explained sales adviser[redacted] misfire and asked check spark plug and replace and [redacted] put this on computer so most of diagnosis was done by my husband and auto [redacted] so we want them to prove what they checked and did diagnosis for one hour costing $130 as Diagnosis Sheet but they are not giving sheet and not proving it. It is my position that if we pay product ,we should receive the product paid or if seller can not give product, paid money should be returned to buyer.Desired Settlement: They recommended the replacement of 4 tires at $620 so we want to replace tire using Diagnosis Fee $130 as coupon so we can pay $490 to replace tires. I think this recommendation is done by diagnosis fee $130 so if we replace tire in Hyundai White Plains, diagnosis fee should be exempted. If they accept,we can reconcile and keep using their repair shop in the future ,we should go there to do engine oil change with coupon already offered by Hyundai.

Review: I purchased a car on May **, 2015 with an extended warranty. My car was totaled in an accident on July [redacted]. I immediately cancelled the warranty directly with the warranty company, Zurich. I also informed Hyundai. Zurich emailed me a letter stating I am entitled to 100% of my warranty refund. It is September *, 2015 and my finance bank has not received the payment. I called Zurich, who contacted Judy at Hyundai and she stated they mailed a check for $1300 to [redacted], but that's not 100% or my warranty. My warranty cost $1650.00. I have my contract which states I can cancel the warranty within 60 days of the purchase and I get my full refund. I also have a letter from Zurich stating I am entitled to 100% of the refund due to my car being totaled. These people are scammers and only give me the run around. Just like when they sold me a vehicle that they stated went through a full inspection, yet the tire was old, the grill was out of place and the rotors needed to be replaced.Desired Settlement: I would like Hyundai of White Plains to stop trying to steal my money and return the $1650.00 for an extended warranty I did not need nor want. It's bad enough I lost my vehicle in an accident now I have to deal with this headache. 2 months and they still can't process a return?!

Sincerely,

Review: I had been having problems with my 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe not resetting to pass inspection. Out of frustration I brought my truck in to be serviced to the White Plains NY Hyundai Service and dealership. $1200 later with new parts added as well as 2 new rear tires my promise this would resolve the problem was far from fixed. Hyundai service department kept informing me that my truck was old and I needed thousands of dollars more work to be done for them to repair the issue.

After days of frustration and no resolve needing to test drive my own car on and off for over 100 miles and still no results to having the car inspected, I removed my truck from the hands of these crooks and brought my Hyundai Santa Fe year 2004 to a local mechanic. Within 2 days and only $250 later the problem was resolved and inspection was done.

I was not offered a loaner car or any type of support to make up for the hours and days Hyundai had my truck. My husband and I were told without a doubt after the $ we spent the problem would be taken care of and it was no where near resolved. This company is a bunch of scam artist. They only want your money.

The fact that this company gets away with what they do without consequences is disgusting.

Livid and disgusted

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want my money back! I lost a weeks pay due to not being able to go to work. I had to test drive my own truck over 100 miles then bring it back to Hyundai and from there waited and additional 3 hours for answers that no one seem to have after having to ask the tech what was going on and was told it was cooking down, which I know was a bunch of lies!

I would like at least $800 returned to me for the time I lost not being able to work, Gas I needed to put in car to drive over 100 miles for them to figure out what was wrong and for the aggravation I endured by leaving without having the problem solved and needing to pay more money to another mechanic to fix what these so called professionals said they could do but DID NOT !!!!!!

Review: I used to work for Hyundai of White plains as a sales person. On that time one of their finance manager named Jhon M[redacted] told me that he could make my car payment lower by refinancing. So he refinanced my car payment and that didn’t make my payment lower it get higher than before because he put me in a protection plane or warranty. He said warranty is $0 deductible for 100000 miles and he said he refinance my car loan for 4 years. Then after three month went to a different dealership to trade in my vehicle to get a new one they said you have a lot of payoff. Then I called Fast Niagara my lean holder and they said you’re finance plan is for 5 and half years not 4 years. So the finance manager straight lied to me because I am not good at reading English and told me to sing here and I singed it. When I figure that out today 12/**/ 2015 I called the dealership and trying to talk to him. He said he doesn’t want to talk to me then I called bank to let them know that was a fraud. The fraud department from the bank called him and he told the them it’s all singed paper and he can do anything about it.Desired Settlement: I want the proper justice for this fraud finance manager. They know I am not good in English and took a huge advantage from me.

Review: 3 weeks ago I went into this dealership to look into buying an SUV. I'm 34 weeks pregnant and need something for my growing family and definitely do not need this stress! After 3 hours of frequently leaving us to figure out numbers, the manager, Rolando V[redacted], came to see me and offer me a deal. I was not ready to commit and he had me leave a $500 refundable hold to keep the price locked at what he offered me. He said to let him know what I decide and if I do not want it, I can call him and have my money back in a day or so. I got a better offer from Nissan and asked him to refund my money on Friday, Sept [redacted]. He said no problem, it will take 72 hours to come into your account. He also offered me a deal on a car if I came into the dealership. I came to see him on Saturday, Sept [redacted]. He told me to go to Nissan and make sure I do not want that car while he punched some numbers and would call my cell phone within the hour. I never heard from him. I went with Nissan. I called the Hyundai dealership many times for proof of the refund and was told I must only speak to Rolando who was not in. Ever! I finally got a hold of him on Tuesday, Sept [redacted] and he said it was being processed and I will have the money "sometime soon" I wanted proof of the refund. He asked me to email him my debit card information or he cannot send me proof. I am absolutely not doing that! It is now a week later. There is no refund in my account and no pending transactions. They are stealing my money!! Why can't they just give me a time frame for the refund?!?!Desired Settlement: I need my money ASAP.

I at least want proof that my refund is processed and an estimated time frame for deposit.

Review: I brought my car into the dealership as an early termination. I called ahead of time and told them that I would be bringing the car to which they told me a time to bring it. When I arrived, I parked the car near the building in their lot and took pictures to show no body damage. The leasing coordinator took my keys and gave me a receipt for dropping off the car, but said that he couldn't inspect it. About a month later, I received the Inspection Report showing the car parked in a different location from where I left it, and showing damage (pieces of the front bumper missing) underneath where the license plate would be. It is my belief that the damage that they showed could not have happened while the license plate was on the car, as the plate wasn't damaged, just underneath it. I believe that when moving the car, one of their employees hit something and damaged the bumper. Instead of taking responsibility for their mistake, instead they passed that onto me. I emailed a letter to Hyundai Finance, Hyundai Customer Support and the [redacted] of Hyundai of [redacted] explaining my feelings and got no response, until a few months later when I got a letter from a Collection Agency. I this time mailed the letter to the Collection Agency and to Hyundai Motor Finance and again got no response from Hyundai, just from the Collection Agency.Desired Settlement: I absolutely understand that I am responsible for the Early Lease Termination Fee, but don't feel that I should be penalized for their mistake and poor business practices. I have already paid the Collection Agency the settled amount, but am still very upset with how unscrupulous I feel Hyundai Motor Co. and Hyundai of [redacted] have been in this matter.
