Review: On 10/16/12 I purchased and used Glidden's Porch and Floor Interior/Exterior Polyurethane Oil Gloss Paint on my bedroom floor. Six weeks later the paint was still off gassing. I contacted Glidden and they sent a representative named [redacted] to my house to check the paint. He confirmed that the paint was off gassing and that there was a problem with the "dryer chemical." He offered to compensate me by refunding the cost of the paint and by giving me five extra gallons of Glidden paint. I refused his offer and expressed that I deserved further compensation. He said that he would forward my information to his bosses and that they would contact me within two weeks. It is now 1/24/13 and I have not been contacted by Glidden.Desired Settlement: I deserve to have Glidden pay me for the cost of the flooring which was 200 square feet of CVG Douglas Fir.

I received the above complaint in my office today. Mr. [redacted] called into our center on 11/26/12, unhappy with a gallon of alkyd Porch and Floor paint he applied to a bedroom floor, due to the slow cure time and odor. Our field representative did a site evaluation at the customer’s home and noted that the product seemed to be curing properly; and any residual odor noticed was that typical of alkyd paint, and likely due to the limited ventilation, given the enclosed space and cold temperatures. Mr. [redacted] was advised re the ventilation issue, offered reimbursement on the paint he purchased, along with some additional product should he wish to recoat the floor with a latex product. The customer refused, however the offer was left open, and he was advised to follow up with the representative should he opt to accept. In the meantime, the customer stripped the paint off the floor, and contacted our center again seeking compensation for his labor and new flooring. Our field representative contacted Mr. [redacted] after this call, and reiterated the offer, which was again refused. While we understand Mr. [redacted]’s disappointment, this was not a case of product failure, and we consider the resolution fair, based on the situation as evaluated by our field representative.

Review: We bought 4 gallons of your 3 in one( paint,primer & fill)color is buttercream.Anyways I painted my livingroom and I put three coats and it still needed more.I called 1-800-454-3336 and the lady that answered (I wish I would have wrote her name down) you could probably track it with my cell # given to you.Anyways, she was very rude and I was trying to be nice because she didnt make the paint, but she had me measure my living room twice,first she tried telling me I was spreading the paint too much then she told me I was was not letting the paint dry enough and I was pulling the paint off the wall.Not once did she say Im sorry your having trouble with our paint lets see what we can do to help you or fix the situation.She automatically started pointing the finger at me.I use to paint for a living a couple of years ago, so I know what Im doing.By the end of the conversation she had me so upset that I handed the phone to my mother and she told my mom that it would take 3 gallons to paint our livingroom, and we could have hired a professional at that price.Our livingroom is very small,we have huge windows and a front door on one of the window.She eventually told my mom to bring it back up to home depot and get a refund.Ive used your product in the past and never had problems, but after the conversations with your employee I will NEVER use your products again.The paint (the 3 in one) is just like using the $18.00(the cheap one)cheap paint from home depot.I will tell all my family and friends how rude your employee was with me and how much I dislike your 3 in one product...All in all my experience with your company has been AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!! by the way I exchanged your paint with Bear paint and Ive had no problems with the Bear paint!!! A copy of this is being sent to the "Revdex.com" and your company because I feel as a consumer that your company has inconvienced me in so many ways,I feel that it is my duty to let other customers know what I have been through.Because of the time & gas spenDesired Settlement: I already exchanged your product and replaced it with Bear paint, so maybe you can figure out how to compensate me.Not only did I have to triple paint my walls but I had to deal with your very rude employee.

[redacted] contacted our office on 8/21/12 regarding our 3 in 1 product. She spoke to one of our senior agents, [redacted], and was asked standard application questions including square footage of the area covered to help determine why her project was not successful. Unfortunately, the customer took exception to sharing information, although it was determined during the conversation that the coverage rates for the paint were exceeded, which would cause the application of multiple coats for proper hide. [redacted] handed the phone over to her mother during the course of the call and she was advised that she could return the paint to Home Depot under the terms of our warranty. Typically our resolution would be to offer additional product or refund on the gallon purchased, although in certain instances we will direct the customer back to the store for an exchange/refund as it is a quicker turnaround time.

My sincere apologies to [redacted] if she felt she was treated poorly, and I will be happy to refund her the purchase price of her gallon. She will receive a check to the address provided in 10-14 business days. As she has already received compensation from Home Depot in the form of replacement paint, I will consider this matter closed.

Review: Glidden DUO Paint + Primer had poor coverage. Customer Service has given poor response and inaction.

I purchased the Glidden DUO Paint + Primer from Walmart a few weeks ago. I got home and painted a bedroom in my house that same day. I was able to get one coat in and was surprised at how poorly it covered. I figured when I did a second coat in a day it would fix that issue. Are doing a second coat the following week I'm shocked at how poorly this product worked. I was covering a very light beige/tan with the color labeled "Antique White." I went to Walmart for the sole purpose of getting this brand paint (I typically use Behr) but figured I'd try Glidden since it was less expensive. Unfortunately, I now have to go spend more money to get done what should have been accomplished already.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund on the two gallons that I purchased.

The above referenced claim was received in my office on 9/20/13. We have email correspondence from [redacted] expressing disappointment with a painting project. The initial contact was very vague in nature and unfortunately was replied to in vogue, for which I apologize. Within the course of subsequent email exchanges, she did cite one coat coverage to be the issue; however, we do not promote any of our products as one coat coverage. Ms. [redacted] advised that she “thoroughly read all your product descriptions” prior to purchase, and yet her allegations would not support this being the case. Additionally, she provided few details, including specific product information, that would allow proper analysis of the situation. I do understand her frustration, and am sorry for her disappointment with her project. She is welcome to return the paint to point of purchase for a refund if she is unhappy.
