I & E Construction

Would never purchase a home from I & E again! Going through the walk thru with Karin Irish was the worst. When we would find something that needed to be corrected, we were told that it was an Industry Standard. We had to fight her for every item that needed to be fixed. We are still living with the less than standard workmanship. From the paint that sticks to anything in the closets and window sills that sits on them. Poor concrete workmanship on our patio which she refused to correct. Our fireplace mantel is at least 1 1/2" difference from one side to the other. Kitchen cabinets are not lined up with the kitchen window. Floor in laundry room is bubbled in several places. The seams in our coffered ceilings do not line up. I could go on and on. Wish we would of checked on the Revdex.com before having our home built. Big lesson learned! When you pay $300,000 for a home, you should get what you pay for but once you sign the papers, I & E could care less.

I would first like to address that I&E was very hard to work with during the building process. They repeatedly provided inaccurate information to their representation which lead their representation to set numerous inaccurate expectations. Before closing I had a walk through with Karin Irish where I felt I was conducting their quality assurance process. I was not taught anything about my home and its functions at this time. When dealing with Karin, as their customer service representative I was treated like a nuisances because I was vocal about how I did not appreciate their lack of customer care. One of the times she came into my home for warranty issues she began to yell at me. I pointed out to her that I was talking perfectly calm and she was not acting like a professional.

I am pleased with my home aside from a few construction defects. They came into my home at the one year to handle warranty issues and agreed to address most of the repairs. The major sticky point for me is that I&E sold me a front load washer and dryer that does not fit in the space provided and is refusing to do anything about it. This is not a single incident as they have fixed this problem for other home owners. The space provided prevents me from opening the washer detergent draw and opening the dryer door completely. I brought this problem to their attention the following month after I moved in, and they kept putting it off. They asked me what I wanted at the time and I told them I wanted my washer and dryer to fit the space properly. We started to negotiate, but instead of negotiating they just kept getting farther away from fixing the problem.

I filed a claim with the CCB, but The CCB can not help me because I&E entered into the real estate contract under *** as the seller, and *** is not licensed with the CCB. I&E has built a 70 home community under *** and the home owners have no support from the CCB.
