I Love My Gardener Reviews (17)

I am informing you that my issue with I Love My Garden has been resolved. The coreturned and completed the job in full to my satisfaction at this time I would like to rescind my complaintI want to thank you (Revdex.com) for assisting me in this issue. Yours truly,*** ***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

[redacted],We are in receipt of your cancellation. We will not be charging you for anything else and understand that service was not provided in the month of August. However, the reason service was not provided is in question based on the complaint. Your landscaper was paid and has been paid since...

working with our company. He chose on the two Fridays this month to skip your property along with a handful of others. This of course was caught via our GPS tracking system. You can imagine that we do not compensate an employee if he does not want to do the work that is requested. This employee purposely missed several stops on each day because he just did not feel like working but did ask to be paid as if he did the work on the property. You can see the discrepancy and why that would be such an issue. We will close out your account per your request. We wanted to make sure you had both sides of the story on this matter. It understood that you have sympathy for the former employee of the company but please know that he is a former employee due to his choices and attitude on the job, not because of lack of pay.

I am rejecting this response because:         1.  I no longer trust this company to do work as requested with causing additional damage to my property.   Additionally, an appropriate person / manager from I Love My Gardener has not even bothered to come out to inspect the damage.   See pictures attached.       2.  Their claim that the improper pruning to my trees does not effect me financially is incorrect.   Instead of being able to harvest the fruit from my own trees, I will now have to purchase this fruit at a local market.  Thus, there is a direct financial impact.  The manner in which the trees were cut has left them in shock and leaves are wilting.  They may not even survive.  My orange tree had over 80% of the branches removed.  It takes at least 8 years for a Washington Navel orange tree to reach maturity for full fruit production.   My orange tree was 15 years old and was producing about 400 oranges per year.  It will take about 6 to 8 years for this tree to recover to full production again, if it survives.  I base this on the fact that I had a large branch break off about 8 years ago and this tree had just gotten back to producing again to the same level before that branch had come off.  The mandarin orange and grapefruit tree should recover in less time, but will still take several years to fully recover.  Again, if they survive.     3.  The contract was breached and became null and void when the work was not completed upon initial visit and due to the damaged caused by their employee.   Initial attempts to get this rectified without having to file a complaint were to no avail.  They refused to take my call or answer emails and texts sent to them.       4.   If no compensation is rendered for having to now purchase my fruit for the next 8 years, I will have to file a claim with the courts.

Review: I have been trying to reach this business since around June 1st. I haven't seen a gardener at my home since May 19th. I have over dozen emails to the company. I've called and left message after message. I've even called to pretend Im a new customer still with no luck. They continue to take the monthly fee out of my account monthly but have not provide a service since May 19th. I want my money back or I want them to come and provide the service I have paid for already. This happen back in March for and finally on April 25th I had someone show up at my home. I was told that my gardener got in a car accident and they had to hire someone to replace him. I get no response from any email address I try or any number I call they have over 5 numbers listed for this business and only one has an ongoing message on it taking voice mails.

DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY in my opinion they rip people offDesired Settlement: Either provide the service you promise or refund my money.

Review: This complaint is in regards to Contract Issues, Billing Issues and Service Issued. July 2015 we signed a contract with I Luv My Gardener, they quoted one price and then changed to another price. The service they said they would provide was Never fully satisfied as there are days they would not show, days the only did 1/2 service to our yards and days where our backyard would be missed all together. Talking to a couple of their gardeners asking about why service was missed or them not doing their job and they were instructed by the owner to just get in/out and do enough to make it look like they came by. It's been weeks now that they have not been out and STILL charging my credit card. I have sent many emails and had phone conversations and Nothing gets taken care of. This company is a JOKE and they're a Fraud! This company owes us money for services not provided...stay far far away. The owner Earl is a scammer..they owe us $691.50..probably more!!Desired Settlement: To get my money back!

Review: 6/17/15 I signed Garden Service Agreement w/ I Love My Gardener to have “basic mow, blow, edge, trim plants as necessary, pull weeds around premises” and “spraying for weeds” performed bi-weekly beginning 6/26/15. 6/26/15 came and went and no one showed up. After several calls and voicemails over several days I rec'd a return call from [redacted] saying he was on vacation and that he would make sure svcs would begin the following Friday. I was home when they came, they were here less than 20 minutes and did not perform the services listed in the Agreement. 8/5/15 I spoke w/ [redacted] and informed him I was unhappy w/ the lack of service, I had been charged for 2 months (6/28/15 & 7/28/15)and they had only shown up 2x and they only partially performed the agreed upon svcs. I notified [redacted] I wanted to cancel services and be refunded for the 2nd month of service because no one showed up. [redacted] apologized and said he would cancel my Agreement and that I should expect a refund in the next few weeks. I followed up the conversation w/ a written cancellation notice. On 8/10/15 I received a refund in the amount of $88.00 and I considered the matter closed. On 11/9/15 I rcvd a letter from them that states my “cancellation did not meet the minimum criteria for canceling service. Your reason for canceling must be due to excessive missed services (which there was!) or excessive bad service (which there was!) or because of death or serious injury. If we have missed or bad service we require that you give us the opportunity to remedy the problem before canceling” (This is NOT in the original Garden Service Agreement that I signed). Their letter stated that I am either to 1) Pay a $300.00 cancellation fee (which is NOT included in the Garden Service Agreement I signed), or 2) Give them a fair chance to earn their love. On 11/9/15 I left a vmail for [redacted] and rec'd no response. On 5/25/16 I rec'd a letter stating I owed $300 or would be sent to collections. On 5/26/16 I left [redacted] a vmail and submitted this complaint.Desired Settlement: I would like a letter from I Love My Gardener acknowledging that my account was cancelled and that no additional money is owed by me and that my account will not be sent to collections.

Review: Before I get started, Revdex.com has I love my gardeners street name wrong. It is [redacted].On 8-3-15, an employee from I love my gardener [redacted]) came to my residence so I could get an estimate on having my lawn service done. He quoted me $73.50 bi-weekly standard service, which included; mow, blow, edge and maintain weeds for both my front and back yard. We went over what I expected and he assured me everything would be taken care of. I gave them a credit card to charge monthly. Since August until October, I have had to call the business several times to request them to render services I have paid for. They advised me they were having issues with employees, but would take care of it as soon as possible. When they did do my lawn, the job was not done professionally based on the amount. I also noticed I had dead weeds in my flower bed. I have made numerous attempts to fix the issue. I no longer want them servicing my property. On October 13, 2015, I called spoke with [redacted]. She advised me to send a cancellation email, which I did. She replied to my email stating, "Thank you for sending me your cancellation notice, I will make sure this is taken care of immediately."On Nov. 8, 2015, I received a letter informing me due to the terms of their contract agreement, my cancellation did not meet their criteria. They gave me 2 choices: 1) pay the $300 cancellation fee or 2) give them a chance to earn back their business.Based on my experience with this company and reviews I have read, I believe this business is dishonest. I will also be mailing them a cancellation letter to their company to cancel my service. I am very disappoint with the company.Desired Settlement: I have already payed for the services rendered for August and Sept. I no longer want to be billed and no longer want their services. I do not want to pay the $300 cancellation fee.

Review: My boyfriend [redacted] (account under his name) and I were quoted to have a one-time cleanup of my yard at [redacted]. We were quoted that it would take 10-12hours at $45 an hour for a total of 450-540 with military discount. We were scheduled for the Gardner to come out on the 27th of Aug 2015, but they never showed up. We called them the next day and they said they would come out the following Monday on 31Aug2015. They did come out on the 31Aug2015 and worked for 4hours total and the Gardner’s time sheet was signed off for working a total of 4hours. We were promised that if that we would only be charged $45 an hour. With that said, we were supposed to be charged $80 ($45*4= 180-100=$80); a charge of $350 was taken out of my bank account which was supposed to be $80. I kept calling, but no one would help me. I finally emailed the someone there and they never got back to me.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $270 ($350-80=270).

Review: We called up to fix some leaks in our front irrigation system. Our credit card was required right away along with signing some sort of contract. On May 20th the worker came by and replaced the valves with valves he bought from [redacted] (approximately a $30 value per valve). The owner then called later that day and curtly mentioned that the valves cost $90 each and that's what he's charging our credit card for. The leaks were still going the next day so we called back and the worker came back on May 21st for about an hours worth of work. (He did fix one of the leaks, the other was still going on. We tried calling to discuss our concerns but the owner wasn't available so we wrote up a letter requesting some clarification on the billing, it was returned marked as "refused". Great way to handle a $80 variance in the bill. (You charged us $380, we calculate we owe you $300, being generous.)Desired Settlement: Either a $80 refund on my credit card or a $80 refund check.

Company states: We will be sending a refund check to the consumer and they can expect it within 7-10 business days.

Review: Contracted on3-27-15 for weekly yard service every Friday. This has not been done this month (August). I have called this company twice, registering my complaint, without a response or explanationlThe yard man who worked for this group came by today to explain that he has not provided services because this company has not paid him or his fellow employees for two weeks.Consequently, I have notified this company I do not want their service, and that I have cancelled the automatic [redacted] deduction and notified [redacted] of this problem. The Visa representative contacted the company representative, "[redacted]," who verified my call cancelling service, and notifying [redacted] not to pay any more to this group.I was notified via the mail (flyer).Desired Settlement: Report this company as fraudulent, false advertising, and breach of contract

Review: I called I Love My Gardener and requested lawn service, I asked the dispatcher over the phone to have the Gardner please knock on my door to let the Gardner in my back yard. They never scheduled any day or time of day they would arrive.I heard a noise off to the side of my home and went outside to see what it was?It was the Gardner Pulling as hard as he could on my gate to gain entry to my back yard. When I seen the Gardner he had a panic look on his face, I looked and he pulled so hard on my gate that he snapped/broke the gate/fence. I asked him why he did that and he told me that he doesn't speak English and just shrugged it off like he didn't know what I was talking about.I called and spoke to the supervisor named [redacted], He was super polite and told me he would send his advisor out to my home to inspect the damage, No one ever showed up for over a month, I called and called and left messages with the secretary , Finally one afternoon I hear someone yelling my name on my front lawn? I went outside and it was the inspector for damages for I love my Gardner company, His name was [redacted] and he was a Huge large man, He was very rude to me and tried to intimidate me by telling me that he use to be a bouncer in a bar and was trying to use scare tactics with me, I asked him to please leave, I called the office and [redacted] told me they will send someone else out, It never happened, Now 3 months later I get someone named [redacted] that comes out to inspect my broken gate/fence, Once again, [redacted] tells me that he to use to be a bouncer in a bar But, Is polite, he tells me that he will call me back with a resolution, Well, The resolution was that I pay his company $175.00 out of $250.00 worth of damages because my fence post has dry rot in the ground, I told [redacted] that the Gardner Pulled as hard as he could on my gate until he finally snapped it open with all of his might and the Gardner was a large man around 250 pounds. If the Gardner would of knocked on my door, I would of told him to use the other gate.Desired Settlement: I feel that I Love my Gardner company should repair my Gate and post in the fence that the 250 pound Gardner Pulled with all of his strengh several times over and over until he finally broke the gate open without me paying the company any funds, It won't close now because of the broken damage. If they would of just knocked on my door first without trying to gain entrance to my back yard without me knowing, This would of never ever would of happened.

Review: Uses answering service and was unable to connect to the person I needed to speak to on 3 occasions and did not get a call back on 2 occasions. [redacted] late for initial consult without notice. Decided to go with different landscaper. Was sent 2 invoices and was told fees would not be charged. Was charged anyway using credit card information provided at initial consult. Called for a refund as services not rendered. Did not get a call back. Had to call bank to dispute charge.Desired Settlement: Stop sending invoices to email and refund for charges. Stop sending flyers.

Business

Response:

Correct, we do use an answering service since we experience a high call volume and we need to make sure callers are screened prior to getting a sales agent on the phone.we are sorry that a call was not returned when initially called in for a quote. There is no excuse for that but we appreciate you giving our company the chance to still bid your property for landscape care. The sales agent assigned to you was [redacted], not [redacted]. [redacted] was on time or early to the appointment t that the two of you scheduled the previous day. [redacted] arrived early to the home and waited in his vehicle until the agreed upon appointment time.we have since spoken with you and gave agreed this was an error on our part. We will refund in full the amounts withdrawn from your bank account and send email proof of this. We apologize for this occurring and will make it right be refunding money.

Review: I Love My Gardener was contracted to do a yard clean-up and lightly prune / shape citrus fruit trees in backyard, trim up pine tree and bushes in front yard, and check irrigation system. With monthly landscape service to property. They were to trim the apple in September or October during service to property at that time. The person that was sent out to perform the work only did a hap-hazard job with the clean-up and over-pruned / mutilated the fruit trees. The fruit trees were a dwarf mandarin orange which now looks like a small bush. The orange tree was semi-dwarf tree which had over 8 large lower branches removed. The lowest branch on this tree is now over 5 feet from the ground. The grapefruit tree, also a semi-dwarf also had over 6 large branches removed. The lowest branch on this tree is now over 5 feet from the ground. These trees were to only be lightly pruned and shaped. These trees are all 15 years old. It takes about 8 years for them to reach full fruit production. The apple tree was also pruned excessively outside of the normal season for pruning of apple trees. The tree and bushes in the front yard were not touched. Nor was the irrigation system checked for any repairs that may be needed.I was initially able to contact the salesperson, [redacted], who requested that I provide an estimate of the property damage loss. I provided him with the estimate for the fruit trees which on the conservative side is $3,720. Since providing this estimate he has avoided all of my calls. Attempts to contact someone at the main company number has been futile. It appears that they have blocked calls from my phone number. Their phone may pick up that call then the line goes dead.At this time I am proceeding to file a small claims lawsuit against this company. Which may turn into a case action lawsuit as I have recently found postings from other customers that have run into similar situations.Desired Settlement: Compensation for the damage to the fruit trees and incomplete service is requested. Need to be contacted by the owner of the company to discuss options for this compensation. Contract has been breached and is thus null and void until such time that settlement has been reached for the damages incurred.

Business

Response:

We acknowledge that our worker did cut the fruit trees incorrectly when being sent out to do the initial clean up. After speaking with our own arborist and other landscape professionals, we have made this offer as compensation for the incorrect cutting of the trees.we will send out a different worker to finish work not completed per customer (cutting branches off front tree and addressing the sprinkler system) at no charge to the customer. At this point, we have not charged the customer for any work done. The agreement would then be satisfied on our end for doing the job we were hired for originally. Again, this would be done at no charge to the customer.Second, we would not provide any monetary compensation. In reviewing with our experts, we realize that the trees will take some time to grow back but they will grow back. In addition, the fruit on those trees were not being sold for profit so we will pay out money because the loss is only emotional, it did not effect the client's financial well-being.We hope client will accept our offer to make this right and then close out this business between us.

Consumer

Response:

Review: Work in trimming promised not completed! Owner Shane was to meet w/ worker before starting job - did not show up, and did not show up after job supposedly done. Worker chopped here and there and it looks terrible, Shane called in, on worker check given him. Hes not answered phone calls from us. Told us the worker send a check out only 1 person showed up.Desired Settlement: [redacted] is a very shifty individual and is ready to take ones money with poorly done work - and really not expecting to finish what he has promised. We would expect re- installment.

Review: We are on an extended absence to Indiana. Prior to leaving we contracted with "I LOVE MY GARDENER" in Folsom to trim our shrubs, maintain our tree and adjust our sprinklers. Our neighbor was kind enough to take pictures so we could determine if the service was performed in our absence. The pictures show that no work was done. We sent the following to void the contract:We have received pictures that show no service has been provided under the terms of our contract with you. The authorization to charge our credit card is hereby revoked. Because no service was provided, no payment will be sent. Any attempt to collect from us will be met with a formal complaint to the authorities.Desired Settlement: Cancel our authorization to charge our credit card. This was a DOOR To DOOR solicitation. The public should be aware that the company does not preform the services for which it solicited payment.

Response:

We apologize for the lack of service that was performed on your property. It has come to our attention that the services were billed but the property was not maintained due to emplyee error on how to access the courtyard of the property. With that being said, we wish to do right as this was our issue. At this time, we will NO longer bill the card and shall return any and all funds charged to this card. This is not how we do business and again sincerely apologize for the lack of service and the billing that continued each month. We hope this will resolve the issue.

Review: We signed up for bi-weekly yard maintenance with I Love My Gardner back in May 2015. Since June they have missed several services as well as failed to provide trimming which we pay extra for in our agreement. As of September 28th, our yard has not been serviced since August 27th. We have called and emailed at least 10 times with one response back saying they were going through company changes and would handle immediately. We have yet to hear back. They currently have our $85.00 deposit plus $85.00 from September services to which we never received. We would like to either get our money back or have our yard serviced per our agreement with this company.Desired Settlement: We would prefer to have our $170.00 back and locate a new company to provide lawn services at this time.
