In this instance one of the two items being presented for return, a Cat Bed, had obvious signs of having been washed which renders it unsaleable and no longer in original condition as is clearly stated as a necessary condition for return. Also clearly stated in our return policy (visibly posted by the register) is that all returns will be given store credit only. When I attempted to explain our policy and work out a amicable solution with this customer they became quickly agitated, said "are you calling me a liar" (neither me nor my wife used that word) and promptly left the store before we were able to resolve the transaction. I surely have no desire to keep her merchandise and have had it in a bag for her in the back since she left. I would implore her to return to the store, stay calm, talk through a so lution, and please stay until it is resolved. I will gladly issue store credit (to be taken at time of return) for the one bed that is in original condition. As for the other I would ask, again, that she please take it with her and perhaps give the cat another chance to slowly find her own way to it. I would be happy to offer some free treats or catnip as a small consolation for your not being happy with the bed which could hopefully be used to coax your kitty back to giving it a second try.
