This is not a professionally run business. It is run almost like a hobby. I have used the service now for two tax-year filings -- and that last filing is the last time I will use this company. I DO NOT RECOMMEND it under any circumstances.
The office is only open Tuesdays and Thursdays. But Valerie (the owner) is often not there -- just a secretary. And, that secretary may leave early -- before the end of the posted office hours! Valerie will not bother to check or respond to any voice mails or emails unless it is Tuesday or Thursday. And, even then, if she is not physically in the office, she will not respond to those messages (or check them). So, communication with your tax preparer is non-existant and haphazard. This is not what one expects in a professional office.
The actual preparation of the tax returns I found to be sloppy. For both years, I found errors. But, this office (amazingly) makes you sign off on your tax return and pay for the tax return preparation BEFORE you even get to see your tax return (let alone, to review it). Having given all my tax info to Anderson, I was amazed to find out that she had me OWING $13k additional on federal taxes and about $7500K on state taxes, even though I knew I was probably getting a refund! I had to point out her mistakes!!! They were corrected, but there were others. Is this the type of person you want doing your taxes? I think we can all safely say, "NO".
I even had the secretary hang up on me! Yes, she hung up on me when I called to ask why Valerie had not responded to my voice mail from 6 days earlier, or my email from the same date. The secretary said that Valerie was out of town another week and couldn't be contacted!! In amazement, I said that surely, you have voice mail or email contact with your boss. Contact her and have her call me today. CLICK.
