I5 Designs Reviews (1)

Review: I recently had my car vinyl wrapped by I5 Designs and my car was extremely damaged from this. The roof rails were removed and the holes instead of being wrapped over or filled with plastic plugs were instead filled with QUICK STEEL and then sanded down which caused damage to my paint. I was provided with two options A.) Send to a body shop to have the roof permanently fixed or B.) pay $75 for them to just plug the holes temporarily. I chose the second option to fill the holes temporarily. I never consented to this shop to preform permanent body work to my car seeing as that is not a certified service they offer. When I approached the owner [redacted] the first time, he suggested we get together and smoke pot and talk about doing another fundraiser/vinyl wrap, which I denied because I witnessed the extremely low caliber of work they produce. When I approached him again politely with an email asking to correct the damages or I would make my experience with his company public, he refused to take responsibility for what was done. He claimed the employee who did this no longer works for him and told me I was "more than welcome" to post this publicly. Once I posted what had happened to me, he tried to claim that I inflicted this damage on my own car.

I would like my car taken to a body shop of my choice and have the roof properly fixed or replaced if the damage is too extensive by a certified shop. I would like I5 Designs to pay for these repairs.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2014/06/30) */

On August 23rd 2013, [redacted] dropped off her vehicle to get vinyl wrapped to help us create awareness for breast cancer awareness. We approached her with the hopes of wrapping her car to create awareness for this cause. We agreed to wrap her vehicle in Matte white for $600.00 to cover costs of material. These vinyl car wraps start off at $1799.00 and the reason we charged her $600.00 was because she did not want to have her vehicle wrapped for free in pink. The $600.00 was to cover costs for material to have it done in white.

We mutually agreed to these terms as can be seen from our email exchanges. When the vehicle was dropped off we had to remove her roof rails and asked her how she was going to have her holes filled in her roof as we were not a body shop. She asked if we knew anyone that could do the job. We contacted a body shop and relayed the cost of having this professionally done. [redacted] said she did not want to pay that much and that the price we quoted her was far more than the actual wrap and asked if there was a cheaper method to fill the holes. We again gave her two options which were to fill the holes with plugs that costs no more than a few dollars but would aesthetically leave an impression on the roof as it is a temporary and a cheap way to fill the holes. She clearly stated that she wanted the holes filled and flush with the roofline but did not want to pay the money we quoted her at the time to do it at the body shop. We gave her an alternative method to fill the holes for $75.00 with quick steel and also explained to her that we would have to sand that area down which [redacted] consented to and was in turn invoiced for. She in the text messages provided can be seen writing that she didn't care about the roof because she wanted the vehicle rewrapped in a different color. Please refer to invoice. We also sent her pictures of the work performed before we applied the vinyl wrap.

[redacted] did not abide by the terms we agreed on in the email in writing which was to have the car wrapped for the months of September and October 2013 because she claims that her wheels did not make it back in time. We also asked for a photoshoot of the vehicle before Breast Cancer Awareness month kicked off and were only able to get one with [redacted] at the end of Breast Cancer Awareness which defeated the entire purpose of sponsoring her vehicle to help this cause.

She later contacted us telling us that someone had rear ended her and needed her vinyl replaced in the rear bumper and rear door. We went out of our way to help her get her rear bumper and rear door rewrapped however; when the vehicle came in we noticed she removed all decals of the breast cancer awareness that were in pink.

We were fraudulently lied to and conned into wrapping her vehicle for $600.00 in the color white. When she brought her car back 22 weeks ago to have the rear section replaced we noticed that she removed the pink ribbon from her hood in an amateur fashion and tore part of the wrap off so we replaced the wrap on the hood for free. 12 weeks back we were again contacted by [redacted] that she wanted to remove her wrap. She brought the car in at left it for more than week because she was out of town. We removed the wrap and tried to invoice her and she quickly started making a scene that she was under the impression that we would remove her wrap for free. At no point verbally nor in writing have we ever agreed to removing her wrap especially for free. I was out of town and was contacted by management and told them that enough was enough and to drop the charges and we would no longer entertain her business even though we were making nil from offering our services to her before.

I personally called and texted [redacted] on Monday June 9th to no avail to resolve this matter and heard nothing back till Friday in an email. In her email she clearly threatened to publicly start a malicious campaign to tarnish my businesses reputation. We have a perfect untarnished reputation in our industry and have NEVER had one complaint from any of our clients. She and her friends have caused my business harm by fraudulently making up invalid claims and posting them to our Facebook page.

To make matters worse we have started receiving emails from people and other vendors who suspect [redacted] of using Breast Cancer Awareness month for selfish gains of modifying and accessorizing her vehicle. I have also attached a copy of those emails. Please keep in mind [redacted] had also started a fundraiser with a goal of collecting $5,000.00 and was only able to collect $500-600.00 and we have no account of whether these moneys were ever actually donated. In her text messages you can clearly see that she wanted us to rewrap her vehicle in Purple then asked to wrap it in a Matte Military green. We quickly shied away from this because the non profits we work with did not have a good feeling about sponsoring her vehicle.

If you have any further questions or concerns or need any clarifications please do not hesitate to call or email me at your convenience. (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

I can not afford to get an attorney to pursue these damages. I would like to note that this company has lied to you. The accident happened on october 30th and the vinyls were still on the car at that time. I removed the decals after the end of the month of October. The removal of wrap was never supposed to cost me a dime and should not cost anything because they did not remove the whole thing. There is STILL remnants of this wrap on my car. I have both the employees willing to back me that this [redacted] character is lying.
