IAA Reviews (%countItem)

Our business purchased a vehicle from IAA (Insurance Auto Auction), as we've been doing for the last 3 years. The car is a salvage unit, however, it was not announced as a water damaged/flooded unit. We've purchase over 400 cars from IAA in the last 3 years, therefore, we understand the that we are purchasing a car which has been in an accident but the water damage is a totally separate issue, water damages and/or flooded vehicles are to be announced/described as such. After contacting IAA they refuse to refund the price paid for the vehicle for their false advertisement. It is considered fraud to flase advertise a product of any kind.

I reviewed the vehicle in question with the Area Manager for Florida. The vehicle in question came to us from Geico Insurance and Geico Insurance gave no indication that this was a flood vehicle. The front end of this vehicle was completely removed and the windshield was cracked and had a small hole. So it is possible the water got into the truck that way while it was sitting in our yard before being sold.

Per IAA's Auction Rules (located in full at *** buyers are encouraged to come and inspect the vehicle on preview day. If they cannot inspect the vehicle, IAA has a list of Inspection Vendors that they can contact to inspect the vehicle for them.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This vehicle was entirely sumerged under water, there is no possible way the entire vehicle got rusted and completly soaked inside front and back from rain water. We are located in Florida so we understand the weather here. Rugs wet, seats wet and dash panel rusted to its entirety. We've been working with vehicles for nearly 30 years, therefore, we know the difference between a flooded vehicle and one that has been affected by the elements. In this case Geico needs to take responsibility for the misinformation at the time of selling the unit. We will take no less than the cost to replace all the computer modules that are rusted and wiring burnt due to the water damage. The water corrusion is evident to the naked eye. It was clearly a misrepresentation of the vehicle's true condition.

We will not be reimbursing the buyer. Again, per IAA's Auction Rules, it is the buyer's responsibility to do all research, including inspection, on the vehicle prior to placing their bids.

This matter was escalated to the Area Manager for Florida and he is in agreement that the vehicle is not a flood vehicle. No reimbursement for this vehicle will be granted.
