We signed a contract with Mr*** on May 22, to replace his roof. Due to the nature of his project, we had to work with the city and the manufacturer of his unit to ensure the weight capacity of the home as it would relate to the new roofing system we were contracted to install.
After several weeks of trying to reach the correct parties, we were finally able to obtain limited information to support moving forward. Due to current leaks, a temporary tarp repair was made at that time. After several weeks of attempting to find solid information to support the safety of installing a shingle system over the existing roof and the uncertainty surrounding it, we activated our right to cancel our contract. The customer created a post via social media on or around May 14, naming Emerson Enterprises. Ben B*** immediately reached out and made a commitment to remove the temporary tarp and repair the holes made from the repair at our expense. We had the repair scheduled for May but due to weather and crew availability, had to reschedule. The rescheduled repair was planned for Friday June with the customer. There was impending weather and the repair would not hold if rain would be coming in right behind it. Our office reached out and spoke to the customer and informed him. He understood and was okay with us coming at the first of the week June 5-6. On June 6, we had someone onsite and the repair is larger than we had anticipated due to preexisting issues from the roof sitting in this condition for over a year, in addition to the temporary tarp repair.
