Just had Edwin from i'Art come out to skim coat and repaint an entryway that had lots of scratches, gouges, and surface imperfections lurking below removed wallpaper. He restored it to a new-looking two-coat painted surface in less than a day of work. And he was working with Farrow & Ball waterbased paint which requires a skilled touch to apply well. He also painted our master bedroom with very high vaulted ceilings & odd angles. Edwin was friendly, soft-spoken and efficient, and got the job done quickly, skillfully, and at a fair price. Would (and will, I'm sure) hire him again without hesitation.
Edwin repaired water damaged drywall in my ceiling. He did a tremendous job, put fresh coats of paint on several walls and the ceiling and completed the entire thing in one day. Edwin was incredibly easy to work with. He responded immediately when I reached out, quickly came to give me an estimate and he stuck to that estimate. He did not balk and gave me a fair price when I asked for a last-minute fix up of a different wall.
Edwin is a consummate professional, obviously takes an immense amount of pride in his work and I will not hesitate to contact him again.
Edwin of l'Art did a terrific job for me on short notice at my deceased mother's home. He was responsive and got right on the job. He repaired walls and painted where the tenant had damaged them. From July to September, 2015, Edwin [redacted] and his I’Art, Inc. team worked in our Wilmette home, completely gutting and renovating several rooms. Our home is a red brick Georgian colonial built in 1908, and over the years, while raising five children, we did not get around to having many major renovations done.
My daughter Valerie found Edwin’s company listed on the website of the Revdex.com. After interviewing Edwin and four other contractors, we hired Edwin. Almost right away, we knew we had made the right decision. We continued to feel that way after the work was complete, and would hire him again in a heartbeat. His bid wasn’t the least expensive, and it wasn’t the most expensive. It was right in the middle. But he did so many extra things for us during the three months that he worked in our home, that he gave us far more value for the money than any other contractor would have done.
For instance, without our asking him to do this, he went to the hardware store and purchased at his own expense about a dozen brass window fittings, which he installed them on the windows in one room, where they had gone missing decades ago, before we bought the house. In the same room he retrofitted an old electrical outlet and reinstalled it so that it worked perfectly.
Here’s another example: we asked Edwin to paint one room a certain shade of eggshell white that my wife selected. When my wife saw the newly painted room, she realized she had chosen the wrong color. We asked Edwin how much it would cost for him to repaint the room and he told us – if memory serves, it was about $500.00 or so, and much of that expense would go to buying new paint. My wife and I agreed that we could live with the existing shade of eggshell white, since we were trying to stick to our original budget for the work.
Knowing my wife was not happy with the color, Edwin and went out and at his own expense, bought a warmer shade of eggshell white. Then he and his team repainted the room, without telling us or charging us anything. When my wife entered the room a few days later, she couldn’t believe her eyes. Or Edwin’s kindness. Edwin and his team also did some incredibly difficult work that other contractors we talked to refused to handle: he tore out and completely reinstalled a large section of plaster crown molding that had been damaged by a leaky roof a few years ago. The the new crown molding is in every way to the crown molding that was installed when the house was built in 1908.
Valerie was also delighted at how easy it was to contact Edwin. She supervised the renovations at our request, and often texted Edwin to ask if we could change a date or time for work to begin or end. Even at night and on weekends, when she was out of town for her work, Edwin texted her back, so all of our arrangements stayed easy and smooth. She knows from doing repairs in her own home that it’s rare to have that kind of fast, reliable communication with a contractor.
In short, I cannot recommend Edwin and his team highly enough. My standards are high, and Edwin more than met them. His attention to detail, flexibility, honesty and determination to work to the highest possible standard make him the only contractor that my wife and I – and Valerie too - will ever use again.

Edwin has fine excellent work various times for me. He is always punctual, hard working, and his work is thorough and high quality. Whenever I have a difficult job, I just call on Edwin.
This company did such a great job in painting the interior of our home that we contracted out with them to paint the exterior of our home. They were very professional--on time, efficient, and honest. Their daily and end-of-the-job clean-up was impeccable. I would highly recommend them.
