Great Service they were able to fix issues with router

Review: I had a computer issue and contacted who I thought was customer service for Vipre. The company I contacted was NOT the customer service for Vipre although they portrayed themselves to be and sent me to Icognix to have my issue resolved. Upon talking to the Icognix rep I realized that they were not who they claimed to be. I got in contact with the real Vipre customer service who immediately stopped them company for working on my computer. They did not get to perform the service that I authorized and Vipre performed the service necessary to get my computer working again. This apparently happens a lot because once I authorized the service, they requested that I send them an email confirming that I authorized the service prior to them accessing my PC. I do not wish to talk to them any further as they in conjunction with the fake Vipre customer service preyed upon and swindled me out of $149.99. As they were unable to complete the service I want a full refund.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund and for them to stop trying to contact me. I am upset that they swindled me and someone needs to make sure this does not continue.

Review: Icognix Contacted me about 6 months ago about working on my computer the caller ID came up Microsoft (They are not)so they had previously fixed my slow computer. So I agreed on $199.99 for a year of support and fixing of my computer. I was told I would be contacted every month to clean up junk on my computer. Since then I have had to be the one to call them. They have added software to my PC, it started to crash, files would disappear & finally it stopped connecting to the internet & crashed and I had to purchase another computer. During the whole process I have given them the opportunity to correct issue They have not.

I contacted the credit card company to dispute me being charged this amount. Icognix sent in documents to them showing rules and regulations that I had never gotton a copy of, as their proof of denying this claim. This company has completely lied about fixing my computer . They also made it so I had to buy a new computer. My credit card company said that they could not come to a resolve with Icognix that Icognix refused to refund my money. This is also garbage because a supervisor named Steve advised me on April 16th that they had refunded the moneyDesired Settlement: This company fraudulently contacted me under the premise of being Microsoft and contracted with me to repair and clean my computer. They didn't fix it. They made it worse and in the end non operable. I have made ever effort to allow this company to correct problem, Going so far as to spending 8 hours on phone with them one time. The computer was not fixed. They have provided policies to credit card company, that I never received or was made a where of. The answer given to the credit card company is not true. I should not have to pay for services not received They should send me a check for my Computer & Time

Review: This company is a SCAM! They claimed to find multiple viruses and users on my mothers computer and home network - this is NOT POSSIBLE! Her computer has been and is fully protected by McAfee and Malwarebytes (I checked recent scans of the computer and spoke to both companies and was able to show that there were absolutely NO viruses on her computer, nor had there been, and that the network has been and is fully protected so there was NO way that anyone else could have been connected to the network). She was directed to this company by a bad agent with [redacted] (I am also in process with the Escalations Department of [redacted] to directly identify this particular agent, who should never have connected her with this company because they do not work with [redacted], and have the situation handled through their department as well). This company took advantage of my mother, a senior citizen with little knowledge of computers.

When I finally got in touch with someone at Icognix, I spoke with an incredibly rude representative who tried to convince me that I was wrong and that my claims of his company being a scam were humorous. He continued to demean me saying very sarcastically that I must be a computer genius and my mother should from now on just call me for tech support since I obviously know everything about computers. At that point, I became irate and told him that I had already spoken to [redacted] Card Services and that the charge would be disputed and not paid whether he refunded it or not. Shortly after I hung up on him, my mother received an email from Icognix for a "Refund Confirmation" of the transaction.

Conclusion: I called them out, they knew they had been caught, they refunded the money. Yet it needs to be known that this company is a SCAM! They will continue to lie to customers, telling them they have viruses, ect. that are NOT there and make them believe that they are doing work to their computers when in truth they are stealing money for UNNECESSARY "services".Desired Settlement: The company should be banned and taken out of business! All persons who have already paid money to this company should be contacted and refunded because it is completely illegitimate. They are liars and scam artists that take advantage of consumers that are not computer savvy by leading them to believe that their computers are infected with viruses that are not there.
