Review: I was investigating a wrongful charge (identity theft) on another matter and found an item charged on my credit report for ATTUverse which I knew was not mine (since I had not lived in Houston for over 20 years). I called IC Systems to dispute the claim on my credit report. They said they had no such thing for me. Within two weeks I got a call about payin the $984.00 bill to ATTUverse - I told them I had not lived in Houston for many years and it was not me. The name on the account was [redacted] and not my name. They sent papers so I could file a police report.

I did and it was never me at all. ATT Uverse called me about a week ago to tell me that it was not me, there was NO social security number on the account at all and that they were working with the person to clear the balance with them.

My complaint is that I was always wrongfully charged with this bill with no communication whatsoever from IC Systems and that it is wrong that they can charge your credit report for anything that doesn't belong to a person. They had NO social security number. It had never been me at but they charged the amount against my credit which negatively affected me and my credit score which prevented me from getting the credit I needed for dental work. Since they had absolutely NOTHING that indicated this belonged to me except a similar name and that the real person had actually lived in the same apartment complex I lived in (20 years LATER), they charged me. This was completely wrong on their part.Desired Settlement: They sent me a letter stating they were removing this from my report but the issue here is they never should have put in on my credit report in the first place. This company needs to verify its facts. They want to collect money owed on the phone without sendin paperwork in the mail which is just wrong. This could have been cleared up a long time ago had they communicated effectively and not assumed someone's guilt without pursuing actual owner of the debt.
