Mrs. [redacted] had a routine vision exam at our office on 10/06/2016 by Dr. Kacey B[redacted]. On 11/23/2016 Mrs. [redacted] came into our office asking for a refund on her exam because her glasses prescription was not working for her. She had gone to a different Optometrist...

and was given a different prescription which was working. Since the glasses prescription from our office did not work she wanted a refund on her full exam. I explained to the patient that we have a policy in place for such circumstances. That policy is that each patient has 90 days from their original exam date to come back and get any changes done to their glasses prescription to make it work. The patient signed our policy form stating she was aware of this policy. We would have gladly had any of our doctors see her to get her glasses prescription correct. Our eye exams not only give the patient a glasses prescription but a full health evaluation on the eye. Dr. B[redacted] found that the patient had an eye infection on her 10/06/2016 visit. Instead of billing her for a medical office visit to treat the eye infection and then see her for a routine eye exam, Dr. B[redacted] did everything for just the $69 charge. Dr. B[redacted] was more than fair in doing this for the patient. The patient decided to go elsewhere to have another eye exam, which was her choice. Since we have our policy in place for these specific instances, no refund was rendered to the patient.
