Idaho Home and Energy Reviews (9)

[redacted] has received service at each of her requests at no charge The service call was to tighten a loose bolt This in no way inhibited the use of the awning The bolt in question is one of six bolts installed and can no longer come loose without tampering The awning has been in use for over a year and she is not entitled to a refund In regards to the production manager, he wasn't fired nor did his leaving the company have anything to do with this incident

Idaho Home and Energy is not responsible for the failures of their original contractor in the building of her home "proper stud placement" Idaho Home and Energy has installed their awning as per manufacturers specifications and as stated in my first response the bolt in question has been replaced securely and can not be loosened or removed without tampering Idaho Home and Energy does not appreciate threats of attorneys or media when we have serviced this clients product full without any additional charges

The response from Idaho Home and Energy isn't the truth about what happenedI spelled it out in my original complaintApparently it wasn't read by them or their response to my complaint would and should be differentSince one side of the awning was put on without a stud in the wall, they would need to attach a brace or bracket to the outside wall and then attach the awning to itThe brace would be the same color as the metal on the awningI was told that would need to be done by more than one person and one of them was one of the ownersJust tightening the bolt wouldn't keep it from working its way out of the outside wall.I waited from 4/10/to 9/18/for the bracket/brace to be installedInstead someone came out and just tightened the boltThe company waited until I had the awning for a year, then they decide to come out and say they fixed itI guess in this case the customer isn't right, but the company always isI will though, let anyone know that they shouldn't have Idaho Home and Energy do any type of work for themNext step, contact my attorney and Six on your side? Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
This response does not surprise me. IHAE may have been a reputable company at one time but no longer. In fact, they gave me an “extended warranty” when I complained about the water damage to my home as if that was supposed to compensate. Then they locked their doors, took their phones off the hook, moved to old location and changed their names.
This response is typical of my experience. Dan would tell me to my face that he would have the whole roof torn of and replaced then send someone over with a different story. The excuses, blame and avoidance of responsibility started by blaming his crew, blaming a mason, etc.
The gutter. IHAE employee Jake admitted to me face to face that he and his crew tore the gutter off of the house. Now Dan is saying some “mason” is responsible.
His crew attempted to repair their shoddy work over a dozen times and failed miserably. And now according to Dan it’s my fault that the entire job was botched.
I categorically deny that I ever said “It’s my roof and I will do what I want” it’s just not true.
After my last interaction with Dan when he started telling me I was harassing him I knew I would never let him or anyone from his crew or crews or contractors (the story constantly changed) near my house again. I also have made the choice to not deal directly with IHAE for the ongoing problems I have with my roof.
This company has cheated me out of my money and left me with a liability that has cost me a lot of money, time and property damage. Shame on you IHAE. I will be very leaving a negative review.
Sincerely,[redacted]

Idaho Home and Energy is not responsible for the failures of their original contractor in the building of her home "proper stud placement".  Idaho Home and Energy has installed their awning as per manufacturers specifications and as stated in my first response the bolt in question has been replaced securely and can not be loosened or removed without tampering.  Idaho Home and Energy does not appreciate threats of attorneys or media when we have serviced this clients product full without any additional charges.

The Homeowners contracted Idaho Home and Energy to install custom shade products at their home.  The products and the installation meet the factory specifications and had been inspected by a factory representative.  The structure that holds the thirty three foot awnings was designed...

by a local engineer.  The Homeowners warranty is through the Manufacturer not Idaho Home and Energy.  If the Homeowner wants to make a warranty claim they need to contact the manufacturer directly [redacted]  The Manufacturers warranty does not cover installation or workmanship.  Idaho Home and Energy's installation warranty is for 1 year which is printed in the Additional Terms section on their contract.  The Homeowners refuse to pay for service beyond the warranty.  Damage to the products not covered by the warranty could possibly be covered by the Homeowners insurance.

[redacted] has received service at each of her requests at no charge.  The service call was to tighten a loose bolt.  This in no way inhibited the use of the awning.  The bolt in question is one of six bolts installed and can no longer come loose without tampering.  The awning...

has been in use for over a year and she is not entitled to a refund.  In regards to the production manager, he wasn't fired nor did his leaving the company have anything to do with this incident.

As per Revdex.com ID# [redacted], at the residence of [redacted]. Boise, ID  [redacted], I would like to respond to these complaints.
Mr. [redacted] was a previous customer many years ago and we replaced all of his windows and patio door.  There was a service call some years later and...

we repaired and replaced screens at no charge.  He called us out to bid his roof and was informed that the shallow pitch required either a metal replacement or TPO membrane which is very expensive.  He was given the option of an ice/water underlayment covered by the Patriot shingle which is a flatter shingle for easier draining.  We discounted the project 25% since he was a previous customer.
Mr. [redacted] had his chimney being repaired by a mason that had his ladder positioned next to the garage breezeway against the gutter.  Ironically, the damaged gutter on the garage was exactly where the masons were going up and down for several days.  We replaced the entire run on the garage at no charge and also completely rebuilt his 15-20 year old gutter on the remainder of the house with all new hidden fasteners at no charge.
During the roof installation, Mr. [redacted] obsessed about inspecting his roof on a daily basis and climbed up on the roof many, many times when he got home from work.  At that time, it was in excess of 135 degrees and was told not to get on the roof as it would damage the shingles.  Mr. [redacted] stated “It’s my roof; I can do what I want”.  He then began spray painting and putting strips of tape all over the roof, claiming damaged shingles.  After several daily inspections by the owners of Idaho Home and Energy we realized Mr. [redacted] was actually causing the damage and was also marking areas where there was nothing visible what-so-ever.  Idaho Home and Energy sent several different technicians there to replace all marked areas, no matter what.  After many, many trips and over 400 square feet of shingles the technicians dreaded going back.
Mr. [redacted] then called in with a small leak in the breezeway which turned out to be in a valley, which is not uncommon.  This was repaired and Idaho Home and Energy was never informed of any other leaks.  Now he complains of 5 leaks with damage to the house that was never identified to Idaho Home and Energy.  The shingles that were replaced twice were fine when installed and damaged by the homeowner.
Mr. [redacted] would not pay the balance owed until all concerns were satisfied.  Under his meticulous inspection he was satisfied and paid the balance.  Idaho Home and Energy has never been informed of any other problems since.

The response from Idaho Home and Energy isn't the truth about what happened. I spelled it out in my original complaint. Apparently it wasn't read by them or their response to my complaint would and should be different. Since one side of the awning was put on without a stud in the wall, they would need to attach a brace or bracket to the outside wall and then attach the awning to it. The brace would be the same color as the metal on the awning. I was told that would need to be done by more than one person and one of them was one of the owners. Just tightening the bolt wouldn't keep it from working its way out of the outside wall.I waited from 4/10/15 to 9/18/15 for the bracket/brace to be installed. Instead someone came out and just tightened the bolt. The company waited until I had the awning for a year, then they decide to come out and say they fixed it. I guess in this case the customer isn't right, but the company always is. I will though, let anyone know that they shouldn't have Idaho Home and Energy do any type of work for them. Next step, contact my attorney and Six on your side?[redacted]
