Idaho Power Company is a regulated utility subject to the jurisdiction of the Idaho Public Utilities Commission.I can understand Mr*** concern with receiving a statement for an amount higher than anticipated In homes utilizing electric furnaces/heaters as its primary source of heat, customers will see higher consumption as the temperatures drop and this year our area has seen some abweather conditions this resulting in below temperatures My recommendation would be for Mr*** to call into Idaho Power at *** and speak with a billing representative to discuss possible ways to monitor consumption and reduce usageIf Mr*** wishes to further peruse a complaint against Idaho Power it would be necessary to refer him to the Idaho Public Utilities Commission. order to respond to Ms. [redacted]’s complaint regarding Idaho Power Company, I would ask you to note that Idaho Power Company is a regulated utility subject to the jurisdiction of the Idaho Public Utilities Commission.When a new contract for services is created, a meter reading is taken to ensure that any usage is billed to the correct party. The dates of service prior to the reading reflect usage for the existing customer, the billing for the new customer begins with the date of the meter reading and subsequent usage is billed under the new contract.
