Ideal Cars Reviews (21)

The problems that *** states the vehicle had were when she purchased the vehicle from ** * back in January of 2014. All of these issues were repaired to *** satisfaction back in January *** son *** has been driving the vehicle on a daily basis and has been in
contact with us at Ideal Cars ever since. The current issues that the vehicle has are due to modifications that *** has made on the vehicle since they have owned it. We are more than happy to take the vehicle in on trade at its current value, or provide a quote to repair the vehicle. After months of owning the vehicle, I cannot refund or repair the vehicle at the cost of the business after that amount of time

I do not normally review businesses but I feel that credit is due to Ideal Cars. They were extrememly helpful to me and my family. Our credit isnt the best and we were so happy to have them help us get into a vehicle. I am greatful for the great service that Ideal gave us and will be returning for our next vehicle!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. We appreciate the dealer’s willingness to repair the car to meet the standards required.  The dealer expresses concern over their mechanic’s repair work and even states they will not be using him again.  We would like the catalytic converter system repaired but would not be comfortable either using the same mechanic that had poor workmanship and jerry-rigged the emissions system of the car originally.  A Nissan mechanic has inspected the car and we have a report in writing that states the car needs a new catalytic converter on side 2.  Since the car is a Nissan, we would want it repaired with Nissan parts and according to Nissan standards.  We would not accept after-market parts.  The dealer would be able to choose another certified mechanic to do the work and they can secure the appropriate parts that meet these standards. We would want to be able to ensure the car has been repaired accordingly, would pass emissions and be operating legally under the EPA laws after its repair unlike its current state. We are also concerned because we have not received the title in our name or any plates for the car to date as the dealer had stated and want to make sure everything is in order as well.  It has been 3 weeks since purchasing and we were told we would have this within 2-3 weeks. We want to keep the car for repair and not sell it back to the dealer.  Other than the catalytic converter issue we have been told by 2 certified mechanics it is a good car.

The problems were not fixed to my satisfaction because the only things that were supposedly fixed were the water pump, fuel pump and cluster gauge which still doesn't work properly.    There were no modifications made on the truck only repairs by my son which included replacing the starter, alternator, thermostat, spark plugs, spark plug wires, front brake pads, air filter, recharged the freon in air conditioner and is still not properly working, and now the truck is in the shop because the motor is possibly blown.  All this has been within a six month period.  The gouging of the price of the truck also does not permit us to trade truck in on anything plus I would not have any confidence in purchasing from Ideal Cars again.  We would be willing to accept Ideal Cars replacing the engine which is the main problem right now.  This truck was not in good running condition when we purchased it and it should have had the things we had to replace already done before they sold to anyone.  The truck was not in any condition to be sold to anyone for more than double the blue book price of $2,300.  We paid $5,000 for the truck.

The items repaired on the vehicle were brought to our attention prior to you purchasing the vehicle.  If you were not satisfied with the repairs, you would not have purchased the vehicle.  I cannot pay for a motor six months after owning it and when it obviously runs alright.  [redacted] has been seen almost on a daily basis driving the vehicle. (see attachment)  [redacted] has admitted to my employees that he has removed the catalytic converter, and airbags from the vehicle, both of which are illegal.  The repairs he has had to do on the vehicle are normal maintenance items that every vehicle needs, every vehicle.  I am always happy to quote an estimate to repair any problems our customers have with their vehicles.  If I can do this for you, you are welcome to call and make an appointment.

I purchased a Toyota Camry 2001 on 4 Dec, 2015 at Ideal Car . They only told me that there are minor scratches on the car body, which was acceptable, and during the test drive, the car was ran good. So, I paid by credit card. They claim that 15-day warranty is provided.

Few days later, the steering wheel worked badly, it could hardly rotate and brake also not working well. I took the car to mechanics for inspection, it was revealed with lots of problems that the dealer did not disclose:

1. The power steering lines are intentionally cut and replaced by a rubber tube now, thus leaking the fluid out
2. Power steering pump also leaks the fluid
3. Engine valve covers leaking
4. Mileage is tuned-up
5. Bottom control arm busing torn and dry
6. Rear brakes are 8-12% life left

I went to the dealer today and ask them for refund, they rejected and said they can help to fix it, BUT I need to bear the full cost! Despite the warrant terms written on the sales order in 15 days, they said it only covers the "power train". For problems that occur in my cars now, they would not cover it because I should have inspect it when purchase. As a walk in customer, how can I really uplift the car and without mehcanics' knowledge to inspect the problem? This is totally irresponsible act and they sell a faulty car intentionally, which is totally a fraud!

As an auto dealer, it is impossible that they have not inspected the car before they buy it in nor sell it to customers beforehand, and have the problems figured out. The rubber tube and pump leaking problems are so obvious.

This company not only creating me to suffer financially, the most serious problem is risking driver's life as well as all the road users.

They have full obligation to sell proper cars and disclose facts to customers instead of deceiving and do not do anything to compensate.

(Notice: I expect that would push the responsibility back to the customers when replying this, while they have zero fault and responsibility, let's see how they response)

While I didn't buy on my first visit I will certainly continue to search their great website for fresh inventory daily because I felt like they really cared about me and my financial situation.

Customer has been refunded the full amount paid for the motorcycle.  We are very sorry for all the confusion.

I am as shocked as you are about the quality of work the muffler shop did on the catalytic converter.  I will no longer work with that shop but would love the opportunity to take your vehicle back to them to repair what I paid them to do in the first place.  If you would rather, you may...

choose to return the vehicle to us for a full refund.  I am sorry this has happened and want to be sure we can make this right.

Im sorry that Ideal Cars was not able to approve you at the estimated rate.  Once a credit application and stipulations were collected, you no longer qualified for that deal.  The altered water bill from the year 2001 that was submitted with your application nullified the chances of the...

approval.  Ideal Cars was able to obtain another loan for you under different terms, that you were not satisfied with. Im sorry that those terms do not meet or exceed your expectations.  Many factors play a role in the approval of a loan, no loan is the same for everybody.

As stated in all the paperwork signed at the time of sale, Ideal Cars does not warranty used vehicle except under the 15 day or 500 mile implied power-train warranty.  [redacted] signed the paperwork acknowledging this at the time of sale including a list of "possible defects that may occur in used...

motor vehicles", including oil leaks.  For this purpose Ideal Cars offers every customer the opportunity to purchase an extended warranty to cover the items not covered under the implied warranty.  Ideal Cars also allows our customers to take any vehicle to a mechanic for an inspection prior to purchase.  [redacted] chose to purchase the vehicle as-is.  We understand that all vehicles need repairs at one time or another.  We have mechanics on hand 6 days a week to help with any problems our customers have at a discounted rate.  [redacted] may call at any time to schedule an appointment and get her vehicle repaired, we will repair it as best and cost effective for her that we can.

Don't buy here!! They pretty much told me I could only qualify for 1 car on their whole lot. I got approved for $8k loan for a Chevy trailblazer . Within 2 weeks after purchase it began to shut off on me. I took it back to the dealer they claimed they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I called a Chevy dealership and did a little research online made a list of different things that I found could possible cause this issue. The dealership claimed they adjusted some stuff. It worked properly for a couple months. Then here I am again with the same problem it keeps shutting off on me. I called and spoke to they want me to a manager named James and he told me to bring it back in for their mechanic guys to look at it. They say they "think " it's the throttle body but refuse to fix it and want me to pay for the repairs because it's been months since I bought it. This is a terrible way to do business especially since they have record that I returned it to them for this exact issue when it was still within the allowed time for repairs. Also the door wouldn't lock and they claim they repaired it a couple weeks later it wouldn't lock again and I had to pay another mechanic to fix it. So I am pretty much stuck with a piece of crap car and an 8k loan

Im sorry, there is no law or requirement to replace parts using factory parts, just as the tires and many other parts on your vehicle are not from Nissan.  The muffler shop I used will repair the vehicle to "EPA" standards using aftermarket parts.  They are not "my mechanic" but a shop I used, therefor they should be the ones to correct the problem.   If this is not ok for you, I will gladly return your money and unwind the deal.  Under the "Implied" warranty, there is a 15 day or 500 mile POWERTRAIN warranty on the vehicle, this does not include the issue you are having with the catalytic converter, however, as you can see, I am offering to repair it or return your money.

My wife and I were looking for a reliable vehicle because we have an 18 month old and are expecting another soon. We haven't even had the car long enough to make our first payment and it has broken down 3 times. The first time was two days after we bought it and it was fixed at no cost to us. A week and a half later it broke down again and we paid for the tow and the cost of the repair. Well less then two week later it is broken down again. When trying to speak with the manager about the issues he continued to cut my wife off mid sentence. Of course a pregnant women would eventually get upset and enraged by this. Well instead of being professional he decided to belittle her and disrespect her. For example he said and I quote "Poor M for having to deal with you". Not only are the vehicles total lemons, they are disrespectful and unprofessional. I highly recommend seeking ANY other establishment to do business with.
