Ideal Concrete

We had contracted Ideal Concrete ([redacted]) to pour a foundation/crawl space for an addition. After a long drawn out process the work was finally completed on July 16th 2014, and forms removed on July 17th 2014. As per [redacted]'s request he was paid in full on the 17th by cheque that was also cashed within hours of being delivered. On the 21st of July our framer came to start on his work only to discover that the concrete was done so poorly that he was unable to start. He looked over the concrete work that was done and found that it was out of square, un-level and was not build to 'code'. we immediately called [redacted] to discuss. After several ignored calls and texts from both us (homeowners) and the framer, He returned a call to the framer. [redacted] said he was not coming back to fix it, the framer could fix it!. After several more ignored calls and texts we were able to get in touch with [redacted] again and he told us to fix it and send him a bill. We immediately called the inspector to find out what needed to be done for it to pass inspection and for the framer to be able to start his portion of the renovation. [redacted] It took 3 men the better part of an afternoon to fix the [redacted] job that was done by Ideal Concrete. not to mention the additional concrete, treated lumber etc to fix the job so it would pass inspection.An invoice was hand delivered to Ideal Concrete the following day for the cost of the repair. (which was paid out by us the homeowners). We were finally able to get a response from [redacted] (Ideal Concrete) on August 1, 2014 regarding the money owed to us for the repair. We were told that his book keeper had the invoice and if it wasn't paid out already that it would be paid out at the end of August. I requested the book keepers name and phone number to get intouch with them, yet [redacted] never responded.Product_Or_Service: ConcreteDesired SettlementWe would simply like to be refunded the additional cost we have paid out for having Ideal Concrete's job done properly to code standards.
