To whom it may concern,

Hello my name is [redacted]. I am writing this letter in regards to the assigned ID #[redacted]. The purchase date for both,...

[redacted] and his wife [redacted] was on 07/**/2013.They are claiming to have purchased glasses from Ideal Optical Choice on 08/**/2014. We have proof of the purchase date which was partly processed through their insurance, and we can gladly send you this invoice if needed. [redacted]'s glasses were picked up on December **, 2013, and [redacted]'s glasses were picked up on February **, 2014. Our optical, Ideal Optical Choice, has a 30 day policy where all jobs must be picked up within 30 days. As a courtesy we kept both glasses for nearly half a year for [redacted] and [redacted] till they came to pick them up.
In the complaint [redacted] sent to the Revdex.com she claimed to have picked up her glasses as well as her spouses one week after purchasing them. Please have them provide you with the original receipt which shows the date of purchase for their glasses, if they cannot provide you with the receipt, I can gladly do so. In the complaint [redacted] also mentions that the lenses on her husband, [redacted]’s, frames weren’t clear and that we replaced them which is partially true. His lenses were changed once during the 1 year warranty by his insurance. But, [redacted] didn’t clearly specify that [redacted]’s lenses were brand new when he picked them up on February **, 2014, and were extremely damaged when he brought them in for a replacement during that year.
We can provide you with an invoice indicating his lenses were already changed once. After a year had passed and the warranty on [redacted]’s glasses had expired, [redacted] came in with [redacted]’s broken frames demanding a replacement. Although a year had passed I told [redacted] that I can replace her frames for half the price, which is a huge courtesy from my end. I noticed thereafter her frame was broken into 2 parts, which is definitely not a manufacturer’s defect since it was brand new when she had picked them up from Ideal Optical Choice. Judging from many years of experience in the optical field I can say that her glasses were most likely sat or stepped on. [redacted] glued her frames on both sides where they had broken, but didn't tell us anything about it. Our store does not glue any broken frames together, nor do we have any glue on premises. Frames cannot be glued together if they are metal or even plastic; the glue isn't strong enough to hold the frame together. Even after discovering that [redacted]’s frames were glued on the sides and wasn't a manufactures defect as she and [redacted] had claimed it to be, we agreed to replace her frames for half the price.
After a couple of months had passed and [redacted]’s glasses were still in our store waiting to be picked up, [redacted] showed up at our store, but this time it didn't have anything to do with [redacted]’s frames. He came in with extremely damaged lenses and was claiming that we had given him the lenses in that condition. What he was claiming was false because when he picked up his lenses they were 100% brand new and that is the reason why he chose to pick them up from our location on that day and use them. If they were supposedly damaged as he said they were then he should've brought the glasses back to us. When he returned a couple of months after using the brand new lenses, they were in terrible condition because he clearly didn't take good care of his lenses. Afterwards, [redacted] admitted that he ruined the lenses when he was in jail for 3 months. I also reminded him that his wife's frames are still here, and that his lenses are no longer part of the warranty. His lenses retail for $249.00 so, even though his warranty had expired we were still generous enough to agree upon replacing his lenses for only $40.00 which are the lab fees. This would've been the second time we would've replaced [redacted]'s lenses, but he showed us an extremely unpleasant side of him that we couldn't deal with. He wanted us to replace [redacted]'s frames and his lenses for free, and when we explained why we couldn't he began threatening us and throwing out ethnical slurs about [redacted] people.
I am [redacted], and he began insulting me by saying that we are bad people who take advantage of people every chance we get. [redacted] came in three times causing a riot by raising his voice high enough for the entire store to be alarmed of his presence and angst. He also hit the glass show case and front desk in our store, and it was a scary experience for me and the front desk staff at the store. This entire encounter with [redacted] was caught on tape. You can hear what he threatened us with, how he hit the desk and case, as well as admit to damaging his lenses on his own. My staff and I are afraid that [redacted] will come in one day and wreak more havoc in Ideal Optical Choice. It has been such an unpleasant experience to deal with him and his wife that we do not want to have any ties to them. Even though [redacted] and his wife’s warranty had expired I told him that I will replace them as a onetime courtesy free of charge because I thought that this will stop him from coming back.
Afterwards, [redacted] and [redacted] said that they will not file a false claim against us to make us look bad in front of other people, a radio station, and the Revdex.com. After a few days had passed and we were about to complete their order and we received a claim filed against us by [redacted] to the Revdex.com. After reading the letter my company and I decided to no longer complete the job for [redacted] and [redacted]. In the letter [redacted] said she spoke with Ideal Optical Choice on 09/**/2013, 09/**/2013, and on 10/**/2013 which isn't true. Please ask [redacted] and [redacted] to retrieve their outgoing calls statement from their phone providers for those dates. We did not receive these calls, because they only picked their glasses up on 12/**/2013 and 02/**/2014.
They are extremely difficult people to do business with and I have done everything on my end to put an end to our ties but they kept on coming back and causing trouble every single time. We are afraid of what [redacted] will do next time he decides to show up at our store and do not want dangerous customers scaring us and our potential customers. We want what any other business wants and that is to establish a good relationship with our customers and run our business peacefully.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter,
[redacted]

Review: I purchased Gucci eyeglass frames and complete lenses from Ideal Optical on 8/**/13 a week later they broke, I returned them to the store to get replaced and he kept them for over a year, returning them in worse condition that I had given them to him in. I was told that Gucci wouldn't cover their warranty, but after calling both Gucci and their manufacturer, I found out that was a lie told to me by the [redacted] of Ideal Optical, [redacted]. I was told by both Gucci and their manufacturer that they would've replaced them without issues, but now that he refused to return them to me with the issue resolved, the warranty has expired. I was told by Ideal Optical that I will have to purchase brand new frames or there's nothing they are willing to do.

We also purchased glasses for my husband that the lenses aren't clear, Ideal Optical replaced them once and we had the same issue again. After going back to their store [redacted] the [redacted] told us that the lens cleaner that HE gave to us shouldn't have been used on the lenses and that there is nothing he is going to do about it.

The staff at Ideal Optical is rude and condescending and needs to be trained on how to deal with the public.Desired Settlement: I would like my frames replaced to the expensive Gucci frames I purchased in the first place and my husbands lenses to be replaced as well.
