We LOVE our new Ideal Vinyl Windows. We recently bought a home and needed the replace all the windows as well as the patio doors. The are really are so beautiful to look at, and offer a beautiful view to our backyard that is an orchard as well. The Patio Doors with blinds give us even more privacy. The price was right, and installed so easily.
W3e had ideal windows installed in our home about 12 years ago. There were leaks in a couple of windows and 9 windows that you can't close and lock. Ideal should give out duct tape to seal the windows and prevent air leaks. The tech who replaced our 2 bad windo3ws told us that they could send a tech out to fix the substandard windows that never closed for about $300. Now we have two more defective windows which they will replace for $250. And they offered to fix the defective windows which never locked for only $675. Imagine making another profit fixing something that never worked from day one. Also the local ideal dealer never responded to our calls to fix the windows when they were first a problem. Ideal dealers who don't respond and a manufacturer who wants to make another profit fixing something that never worked. Duct tape keeps most of the air out of your house when you have ideal windows.
I have the same problem, another problem, window does not stay up, had someone look at window and coils on both sides of window are broken. This window was only opened and closed a few times in 12 years. The windows are cheaply made and junk. Also between the other bedroom window is condensation and if you close the bottom windows of my windows the top windows drops down letting in cold air that you are not aware of. Also, the windows are cold in the window not insulated like their brochures states, brochure states, highly insulated, no they are not. Beware of this manufacturer. They say lifetime warranty well, I am holding them to it and if they want to charge me for fixing their mess, then to court we will go.
