Identity Shield signed my mother, age 83, up for protection but she never agreed to the service.
She is now faced with a past due account for services she did not want or agree too, as I was played the call and she was not told what she was getting. I tried to cancel this service but was told I could not as there is a past due balance.

Desired Outcome

Cancel the service and alleged past due balance.

My mother-in-law (73) was signed up for service without her full knowledge/ understanding. Her bank refused charges so they're billing her 1yr's fees.
Karrole Sutherland: member# *** group#***
Date of last bill is 09/19/19
Amount due is $239.88 (an entire year's worth of charges/ billing is done in lump sum). My mother-in-law has been having periods of confusion and is now under our care. She has no recollection of having signed up for said service. I called to enquire about bill. Was told they would close her account if I paid two months worth of services ($57.98). My bank declined charges. That was my clue I was dealing with a dishonest business. On 10/23/19 I spoke with "Shi" employee # 250.

Desired Outcome

We wish to have her account cleared & service terminated immediately.

I noticed a charge on my credit card, called them to dispute the charge. Got charged anyways and now they are charging me again.
I noticed a charge of $24.99 on my credit card 6 months back or so and called them to say I never purchased their services and would like the charge to be removed. They said I had to pay the fee and then they could cancel my monthly subscription. I paid the $24.99 and cancelled the subscription only to notice by chance in February 2019 they had charged me again and had been doing so for months. In March I noticed the unwanted charge, disputed it with my credit card company, which requested that I cancel the credit card. April 19th I received a letter from Identity Shield stating I missed a payment, have a new monthly charge added, and that they are unable to process the payment through my credit card on file. I never signed up with Identity Shield to my knowledge and have already got scammed into paying many charges of $24.99, I do not wish to pay anymore or continue with any form of subscription. I tried to email the company to inform them of their mistake and my action of refuting the charge, but they are not easily found online to contact,so I could not email them. Attempting to call them during the day is not an easy task. Their business hours are conflicting with mine so I thought email would be the best solution. I then realised I needed to ask my boss for permission to make a personal phone call to discuss the issue with Identity Shield. I explained to them how I couldn't find an email to discuss things and there business hours are very conflicting to my work schedule. I was informed by Paul that there was no record of me ever calling in their system to cancel the membership and they had been charging me since May 2018. I was informed they had called me on April 8th after I refuted the charge on my credit card, but they never left a message. I was not aware they had called me and why would I without memorizing their number or having a message to listen to. So they sent me the notice of missed payment in the mail. I am so sick of wasting money on being scammed and decided to send in my final payment by check and end the subscription. I informed them I am not comfortable giving them another credit card number and was told that was fine. Once the payment is received I should receive a letter of cancellation from them. Hopefully the matter will be properly dealt with and I will not have to deal with them again.

Desired Outcome

I have paid multiple months for an unwanted service without my knowledge for most of them. I also thought I had dealt with and their unwanted charges and closed a membership only to find out they had never cancelled it nor do they have any record of me ever calling in. I do not wish to pay for any other fees of 24.99 to them nor acquire any late fees from not paying them for scamming me. A refund would be amazing, but I will be very happy just to know that they will never take advantage of me again.

Signed up for this by a scam magazine company, and these people won't leave me alone until I pay to close the account.
I was not aware I was signed up for this "service" until I started seeing bank statements. It was bundled in with a magazine, which was also a scam company. They don't have my social security or email, and they don't have a website or anything to check my service, so I truly don't know what these people actually do aside from take my money. Still get constant calls, so they aren't even helping with what little information they gave. I called to cancel the service, but they said I have to pay for overdue charges to close it. Then the last got her supervisor on and just started to yell at me. Awful customer service, and awful product, if you can even call it that.

Desired Outcome

Stop calling me, and close the account.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I was told the account could not be closed because I had a past due balance & until I paid that balance they would not close the account. As of today I have not received my money back from this company. I never authorized this service & the first I knew of it was when the fees showed up on my credit card account. When I called to cancel the service I was told this was something I was signed up for by a magazine company. I don't do business with any magazine co either.

I signed up for this service in Dec of last year. This spring and summer, my identity was stolen; thieves stole $60,000 from me including putting a loan in my name for $38,000, payments for which started getting deducted from my checking account. The services comes with a guarantee, that they address all the issues of identity theft, help you resolve it, insure your information's security, etc. They've done absolutely nothing to alert or help me with this issue. So, I called and cancelled in August of this year. They said I would owe about $29 for that last month. Now, I've received a notice for them that I have to pay out the remainder of a multi-month contract, $340-ish'!? I didn't even know I'd signed a contract. I thought it was month to month, like xxxxx (another service I have).

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) Zero out my balance, close my account
