It is true that Lucy
had an enlarged heart, but she was traumatized by one of the employees of Best Friends, and the owner is responsible for any actions taken by an employee against any animal in their care. The employee was asked specifically to not put Lucy in a cage as she was not used to that kind of treatment, and she was placed in a cage for a few hours, which traumatized her and caused her heart to fail! The owner of Best Friends, is acting in a pathetic way, in not accepting responsibility for the actions of her employees. If we hadn't asked for Lucy not to be put in a cage, that would have been a different story, but that was not the case, and the owner knows that. If she didn't feel responsible for the death of Lucy, she wouldn't have fired the employee or had a meeting with other employees to do as owners of the pets , ask them to do. I know this business must be licensed and bonded, I will check it out, so she is responsible for Lucy's death. I can't imagine anyone being so cold and callous as to re-act in such a way and not taking responsibility Having taken the actions, as the owner did, proves she is guilty of Lucy's death, as our wishes, regarding her care, were totally ignored. She was like our child and we had plans on having a wonderful Christmas, but it was ruined and our hearts were broken and we were deprived of a wonderful holiday , because of the actions of the employee of Best Friends, and the owner who thinks it is OK, to take the life of a beloved pet, and think nothing of it. She needs to pull up her BIG GIRL pants, and accept responsibility; and act like an ADULT, not a child. She's running a business, and with that, comes responsibility
As much as it saddens me that Lucy has passed she died from an enlarged heart, per the veteranierianIt could not be determined that anyone was at faultHer health condition put her at risk for any activity and no one can be held responsible because of her health issues
