I enrolled in a *** Medicare supplemental and Part D policies with “Ryan” of Illinois Health Agents. I needed to change the enrollment date from November 2018 to December 2018 when my employer asked that I stay on for an additional month during which I had employer based coverage. I filed the change of effective date form with Ryan and asked multiple times to be given access to the application but he made excuses; did not facilitate the access. According to ***, the original application had an effective date of January 1, 2019 (apparently Ryan’s error). Without disclosing this error to me, Ryan submitted a corrected application with the November 1st date. When I requested the change to December 1st, *** determined that I had “changed the date too many times” and therefore required a premium payment for November (a month where I had employer coverage). In an email, Ryan promised to “personally reimburse you for the 1 month of overpayment”. He then crafted a story that I had asked for multiple change dates (untrue, I asked for one change date). In subsequent emails he said “the check was in the mail” and later indicated that the reimbursement was ***’s responsibility. The Part D application was rejected because I “was applying outside an applicable window” which is not true. Although I asked Ryan to clarify with the company, once again, he did not follow through. Beware. The service is highly unreliable; one cannot trust this agent, the narrative changes with the seasons.

Sorry to hear your frustrations. You did not enroll in a part D plan through our agency so I can not speak to what happened since we were not involved and you enrolled with the company directly. However, I did assist you with your Medicare supplement application and was able to change your start date several times. As we discussed, because you changed your start date more times than allowed, your request to change it a third time was sent for approval. These are the insurance companies guidelines. If this was an error made by myself or our agency, we would take full responsibility but this has been verified and documented by the insurer and can confirm by calling . It is still being reviewed by the insurance company. I advocated for an escalation on your behalf, but unfortunately these issues can take time. I am confident this will get resolved in your favor. I assure you I have done everything to accommodate your requests. I apologize this has not been resolved faster but I will continue to see this through

I found myself in a jam between jobs and can't thank Ryan and his team for finding me a plan before my employer coverage ran out so quickly. It had completely slipped my mind and was assured right away I would be taken care of and they did as promised!
