Illinois Notary Discount Bonding Reviews (15)

TERRIBLE customer service. I was just calling to get an update on my renewal application and was immediately put on hold. I was told by the phone system that I was the 7th caller in the queue. after 12 minutes I finally became the 1st caller in the queue only to hang around for another 6 minutes and then was put back as the second caller in the queue. After being bounced around between 1st and 2nd caller in the queue for another 20 minutes an automated system finally answered to give me their hours of operation and mailing address. What?! Do not waste your time with this company it is not worth your time to save a few dollars.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/06/04) */
In response to the customer's complaintA return phone call and email message was sent to the customer June 3rd in which we explained that a memo was sent to her on February 18th that instructed her to send her Notary Public Certificate to us
so that we can order her notary stamp for her
Attached to the email message that was sent to her was a copy of the memo that we send to our customers as well as a copy of our payment form that indicates that we pay the state filing fee of $when we send the applications to the stateIt doesn't say that we will pay the county filing fee of $which is what she paid
The customer called back and all of this was explained to her on the phone at which time she indicated that she didn't receive our memoSince she didn't receive her memo and we do not receive a notice from the state, we went ahead and took her new expiration date over the phone and ordered her stamp for her on June 3rdEstimated arrival of her stamp is to business days

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/04/02) */
The customer's signature was not on her applicatin when we received it and in error her application was sent to another applicant with the same last name and this customer received that person's applicationWe did receive her application from
the the other customer and attempted to send it to her On March 7th the application was returned from the Post Office with a yellow sticker that said "Return to sender unable to forward"A message was sent to the customer and she indicated she didn't receive the message during a phone call on March 8th Instead of going back and forth with the customer or customer service represenative indicated that she didn't want to argue with her and went and pulled the envelope and read her address to herThe customer then wanted to speak with a manager who was not in the office at that time so she was put in his voice mail
We wanted the customer to receive her application so we mailed the application along with the envelope that was sent back from the post office to her residential address
On March 18th the customer requested a refund and a check in the full amount was mailed to her home address on March 21st
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 7, 2016/04/06) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
My application was not entirely without signature I neglected to sign the "bond" section of the application and this is clearly my oversight The fact that the other customer and I share a common last name is hardly a reason (much less an excuse) for the error; particularly in light of the fact that Illinois Notary "Discount" Bonding Cohandles sensitive information My anxieties were only increased after the customer service rep read the address on the envelope that had been returned by the post office Please view the attachment; the addressing error is obvious Also noteworthy is the fact that I had received separate mailings from Illinois Notary "Discount" Bonding Coprior to the return of the incorrectly addressed envelope Did it not occur to the Illinois Notary "Discount" Bonding Coemployee to double-check the address before (allegedly) calling me for an address? It's odd to me that the customer service rep didn't "want to argue" (her words) when I indicated that I had not received a call (regarding the returned mailing) but after I asked to speak with a manager, she proceeded to grill me for a reason She only relented (after my 3rd request) and statement that "I would just rather speak with a manager" This exchanged could be construed as a "back and forth" Also, I was not put into the manager's voicemail Rather, I was told that no manager was in the office and that I would have to call back the next day I have also notified the Secretary of State about this and at their behest I have provided the name of the organization at fault; Illinois Notary "Discount" Bonding Co My commission number, DL number, birth date, home address have all been comprised This is information that can easily be used to perpetrate identity theft I have copied the following from the website of Illinois Notary "Discount" Bonding Co It is an excerpt from "Message from the President" "I am confident that, with our highly qualified professional staff and affordable prices that we are prepared to exceed all of your notarial needs I did not have experience the highly qualified professional staff, my needs were not met and the organizations response is shameful I have received the refund check, it has cleared the bank and I now consider the matter closed

As the owner of Illinois Notary Discount Bonding Cowho is a A+ Revdex.com accredited business find this customers complaint puzzling The state application that was originally submitted by the customer to us for processing was rejected by the State of Illinois back in March of 2016, due to
the a invalid notary stamp used but her notary on her application When applications are rejected the customer must re-complete a new application for us to process again, which finally was received and sent to the state on Oct 25th, Not sure why the customer waited this long to re-submit another application. Our website clearly shows specify instructions/steps that must be followed to complete the notary commissioning process. We require proof of the Notary Certificate that the customer received from her county clerks office to produce the required official stamp We request the certificate to make sure the notary was properly commissioned by the state Without proof of the certificate we DO NOT make a Official Notary Stamp as indicated with in the steps on our website www.notarybonding.com For over years we have processed thousands of Illinois notaries each year for the State of Illinois and have always requested proof of certificate for ordering a Official Notary StampEven as an active status on the states website notary must still must provide us the certificate that was received from the county clerks office as instructed in our directions to complete the notary process. The customers delay was caused by using an invalid notary stamp on the original application This caused a major delay in her processing from the beginning an addition to not provided the Notary certificate in a timely matter. Her included official stamp has been ordered and her notary bond#Dhas been filing with the state As the customer indicates she is a active notary with the bond#Dshe purchased from our company, so No refund is due as all services have be completed Finally, the notary stamp was ordered on 01/11/17, after we obtain her certificate via email Finally if the customer would have followed our detailed Step by Step instructions from the beginning she would not have a" ruined business" The process is the same for thousands of our Illinois notaries, so it appears that this customer did not follow our our simply step by step instructions. Best Regards,John PGallagherPresident

Please be advised I had contacted the customer (*** ***) via her email to inquire about why she had not received her stamp.? I requested her to provide me with her commission certificate issued by the State of Illinois (see attached) when I received her certificate from her, I noticed
that it had expired on 11/27/2017.? I need the "New commission certificate" that was issued by the state and sent out by her county clerk.? ? Without having this valid certificate, we cannot order a new notary stamp as the customer needs to file it with her county clerk and provide a new certificate to us in order to order her new stamp.? All of the instructions to complete the process were mailed out to her from us and all of the instructions are also provided on our website at www.notarybonding.com for the State of Illinois to complete the commissioning process.? See attached.? I wanted to response to this Revdex.com complaint in a timely matter and as of this morning 01/10/18,? I have not received via email or fax from *** *** a new certificate with a valid commission date for her new current notary term.? When she provides this new commission certificate to me, I will be happy to order the Official Notary Stamp for her.?

A copy of my certificate was sent to Illinois Notary Discount Bonding Co. in a timely manner. All appropriate steps were followed. They sent me an email stating that the stamp had been ordered & was in the process of being delivered. However, after 10 work days, I still didn't receive the stamp and followed up with a call to Illinois Notary Discount Bonding Co. They said they could determine why it was not delivered and would send a replacement stamp. This replacement was not received and when I followed up again, I was told there was no record of the previous order, however, one would now be placed. As of this note, no stamp has been received! Instead of accepting the fact that they screwed up, apologize to the customer, correct internal processes and move on,they are trying to deflect blame on the customer. Not the sign of a quality organization.

On of October 7th, 2016 one of our customer service reps contacted Mr. [redacted] to advise him that the his notary stamp shipped UPS. Our records showed the notary stamp delivery time was by 3:00 pm on 10/07/16. As far as our company/organization goes, we are proud to have served over million notaries nationwide for over "76" years, and we are proud to be a Revdex.com accredited business, albeit sometimes a minor glitch can occur like in most businesses or organizations. As for a partial refund, I have declined this request as have provided all the included items in the notary package, most importantly the customers required notary bond and state fee. There is no refund due, since all goods and services have been provided.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
My application was not entirely without signature. I neglected to sign the "bond" section of the application and this is clearly my oversight. The fact that the other customer and I share a common last name is hardly a reason (much less an excuse) for the error; particularly in light of the fact that Illinois Notary "Discount" Bonding Co. handles sensitive information. My anxieties were only increased after the customer service rep read the address on the envelope that had been returned by the post office. Please view the attachment; the addressing error is obvious. Also noteworthy is the fact that I had received 2 separate mailings from Illinois Notary "Discount" Bonding Co. prior to the return of the incorrectly addressed envelope. Did it not occur to the Illinois Notary "Discount" Bonding Co. employee to double-check the address before (allegedly) calling me for an address? It's odd to me that the customer service rep didn't "want to argue" (her words) when I indicated that I had not received a call (regarding the returned mailing) but after I asked to speak with a manager, she proceeded to grill me for a reason. She only relented (after my 3rd request) and statement that "I would just rather speak with a manager". This exchanged could be construed as a "back and forth". Also, I was not put into the manager's voicemail. Rather, I was told that no manager was in the office and that I would have to call back the next day. I have also notified the Secretary of State about this and at their behest I have provided the name of the organization at fault; Illinois Notary "Discount" Bonding Co. My commission number, DL number, birth date, home address have all been comprised. This is information that can easily be used to perpetrate identity theft. I have copied the following from the website of Illinois Notary "Discount" Bonding Co. It is an excerpt from "Message from the President" "I am confident that, with our highly qualified professional staff and affordable prices that we are prepared to exceed all of your notarial needs. I did not have experience the highly qualified professional staff, my needs were not met and the organizations response is shameful. I have received the refund check, it has cleared the bank and I now consider the matter closed.

Please be advised I had contacted the customer ([redacted]) via her email to inquire about why she had not received her stamp.  I requested her to provide me with her commission certificate issued by the State of Illinois (see attached) when I received her certificate from her, I noticed...

that it had expired on 11/27/2017.  I need the "New commission certificate" that was issued by the state and sent out by her county clerk.   Without having this valid certificate, we cannot order a new notary stamp as the customer needs to file it with her county clerk and provide a new certificate to us in order to order her new stamp.  All of the instructions to complete the process were mailed out to her from us and all of the instructions are also provided on our website at www.notarybonding.com for the State of Illinois to complete the commissioning process.  See attached. I wanted to response to this Revdex.com complaint in a timely matter and as of this morning 01/10/18,  I have not received via email or fax from [redacted] a new certificate with a valid commission date for her new current notary term.  When she provides this new commission certificate to me, I will be happy to order the Official Notary Stamp for her.

I am rejecting this response because: First, very rude response. I DID NOT use an invalid notary, and I was never told to re-apply...I did this on my own when the state could not provide a response as to why the application was sent back because they also confirmed the notary was valid. I have also never had to send a copy of my certificate to renew with any other agency, so this is a strange "step", in any case I did miss this part in the "step by step". Either way, when a customer reaches out for a status of their paid order, a business should respond with an update, not ignore them. All of a sudden, NOW my order is on it's way...after I finally complained about it? Very convenient. It's also great how all the blame for this delay is being placed on me, with absolutely no courtesy or understanding from the business. Terrible business practice, I will be sure to avoid this agency in the future, and I will certainly recommend other agencies to my network instead of this one.
