IMA Motorsport, Inc Reviews (3)

We first got correspondence from the complainant on 12/20/2015, the same day the complaint was filed with the Revdex.com, a Sunday when the shop is closed.  Our correspondence with her started that day.   Her first correspondence was so vague, we thought it was a phishing scam.  What we have...

since determined is that the "friend" and "fake" she is referring to is her ex-boyfriend, who was not her ex at the time of the transaction.  The transaction took place on 10/23/2015 around 7:00pm, EST.  It is not uncommon for us to stay longer than our posted business hours to accommodate customers who cannot make it to the shop during our normal business hours.  The time of day this transaction took place is irrelevant.  In the complaint, the complainant implies that a business owner or it's employees should be able to determine if a person is of sound mind to make a purchase.  That is an unreasonable assumption.  The complainant drove her boyfriend to our shop to pick up his vehicle that we repaired.  Their agreement for payment of the repair has nothing to do with the work that was performed to the vehicle or the practices of the shop.  The credit card receipt clearly shows, in type larger and bolder than the rest of the receipt, what the total charge was.  She signed just below, accepting the amount.  This complaint has nothing to do with the shop or the repair that was done.  This is nothing more than a domestic dispute the complainant is trying to wrap us up in.  We have suggested to her that she can either proceed to take her ex to small claims court or to persuade him to come to our shop to pay the bill in cash, at which time we will refund the full amount to her card.

First and foremost, the pre-purchase inspection that was done on this vehicle at IMA Motorwerke on 4/17/2017 was done incorrectly.  We have admitted that and we refunded [redacted] his money on 4/27/2017, a total of $375.Second, the vehicle in question was the private, personal property of the...

owner of IMA from 2005-2014.  In December of 2014 the car was sold privately to another private individual.  IMA Motorwerke had nothing to do with the sale of the car at any time.  The car was approximately 10 years old at that time and was sold as is, with no warranty expressed or implied.  The car is now in the possession of the third owner and is approximately 13 years old.  IMA Motorwerke had no connection with the sale to the current owner. The current owner has been emailing IMA Motorwerke non-stop asking for parts to be delivered to him, claiming they are "his" parts.  Again, IMA Motorwerke has no connection to the sale of the car.  IMA Motorwerke and the original owner, in good faith, have tried to comply with finding a particular part that was taken off the car many, many years ago.  IMA Motorwerke, nor the original owner, has any responsibility to provide this part or any part to the current owner, but is trying to help him out.  IMA Motorwerke, with the permission of the first owner, also provided all the private, personal records on the car from 2005-2014 to [redacted] because he was insistent on receiving them.  Neither IMA, nor the original owner had to provide anything.  [redacted] has asked for the records from the second owner to be sent to him.  IMA cannot release someone else's records without their permission.  The second owner has not contacted us to give us permission.  It would violate privacy laws to do so without his permission. In the end, IMA Motorwerke and the original owner will try to provide the one part [redacted] has asked them to find.  Neither IMA Motorwerke nor the original owner owe any type of compensation to [redacted] as IMA has already refunded the money for the pre-purchase inspection.  Neither IMA Motorwerke nor the original owner were involved in the sale of the 13 year old to the third owner.

I am rejecting this response because:  once again IMA is lying.  I paid [redacted] their long time customer directly for the car.  Not this third party they are speaking of.  It's simple really.  They sold a broken car to [redacted].  [redacted] found out and they helped him sell it to someone else.  The long laundry list of things wrong with this car is outrageous.  Regardless.  I trusted them as a shop to do a pre purchase inspection.  And they did not mention one component that was wrong.  In fact the car lasted less than a mile before it needed a $4500 repair.  Which I have a third party report to prove how poor IMA business practices are.  You do have proof already how they are trying to protect their friend [redacted] by saying he wasn't affiliated with the sale but I'll show anyone who asks the wire transfer was sent directly to [redacted] bank account.  Not a third party.
