Hello, I am writing in response to complaint # [redacted] in which the client expressed dissatisfaction with our entertainer and with my response to her complaint. We were hired by the client through a third party booking site called [redacted] . On that site, I quoted the client a price... of $160 ($80 deposit due through the site for Imagine Entertainers payment and $80 due in cash on the day of the party for the entertainer) for a one hour package beginning at 6 pm to 7 pm with a princess. The package was to include her telling a story with singing some songs with the children, small cheek art face painting, playing games, posing for photos and singing happy birthday. Our entertainer was hired to be at the party from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Our entertainer is a minor so I asked her mother who was in the car waiting for her during the party to write a letter on her behalf and we have removed her name for the sake of her being a minor. Here is the letter from our entertainer’s mother. The entertainer is a minor so I do ask that you not publish her name and contact information on the RevDex.com public site. [redacted] LETTER FROM [redacted] (the Entertainer’s mother)January 29, 2016Timeline for *minor [redacted] Princess Party DATE: 1-9-16 TIME: 6 to 7 pm : Fees due: $80*Entertainer [redacted] did her confirmation call on 1-6-2015 at around 4pm and in a proper manner, as I overheard the phone conversation from another room. She went into a lot of extra detail than the actual scripted format to explain what her character looked like and for the client to go to the website to see her on one of the pictures. She also explained that she does small cheek art not full face painting. The phone call concluded and about 15 minutes later she was on the phone again with the client. (*entertainer [redacted] is a varsity cheerleader and needed to be at the high school at a designated time. She told me that she would take the punishment because this is her job and this client had a lot of questions.) During this conversation, which I listened to as well, Client told her that she needed to wear more makeup for their party, that the princesses on the website didn’t have enough for her liking. Entertainer also explained again about the timeline of her arrival and that she would wear more makeup. We do have phone time stamps of all these calls.Entertainer started to get ready for this party at 3pm on January 9. She was wearing additional makeup and fake eyelashes because she felt the need to make Client happy with her appearance. Entertainer has always looked professional and for this one wanted to be extra special. My son, myself and Entertainer left for the party at 445pm and arrived at 530pm and sat in the parking lot until Entertainer made her arrival phone call at 5:55pm, letting Client give her instructions on where to walk into the facility. Client told Entertainer where to park and my daughter explained that her family was here to drop her off and go run errands for the hour. Client (or another family member) came out of the club house and we drove Entertainer up to the facility and let her out and left for a bit to arrive back at 6:30pm and wait.About 6:36pm we received a text from Entertainer stating she was standing in a hall way and the birthday girl had not arrived and the party had not started. She texted that they requested her to stay until 7:30pm and Entertainer told them let me ask my mom but I am sure it was ok. (Entertainers texts states that they were being really nice and wanted her to stay and extra ½ hour.) I said, “no”, because it’s company policy that she only stays for the contracted time (6pm to 7pm) and it’s not fair to other clients that do pay for the extra time and it was their fault they started late. Entertainer and I agreed on 7:15pm to be polite and that we would let Ms [redacted] know that she didn’t charge her for the extra time. Entertainer is a very sensitive child one that if others were being ‘extra nice’ she would concede to whatever they wanted. I reminded her that it was their fault for being on a timeline they chose. At 7:20pm Entertainer was escorted out of the facility, and spoken to by two women. I was not comfortable with the body language and almost got out of the van to witness the situation, first hand. My son told me Entertainer could handle it and I sat there and waited until she did enter the vehicle. Right away Entertainer said that they told her she would be getting a bad review and no tip but she received the booking amount of $80.00. Also, they said that her family should understand this is her JOB and that we should have let her stay longer . I asked her what she said back to them and it was that she was sorry that they were not happy with her but that was the company policy. Face paint was not mentioned in this conversation. Just that she should have stayed longer. Entertainer called her boss, Ms [redacted] , right away to tell her that the ladies were not happy with her. Ms [redacted] told her that was the contracted time and that she was generous in going to 7:15pm. Entertainer felt horrible the rest of the night and it has consumed her because of the lecture at the end of the party.I spoke to Entertainer at length about this party over the next few days. She said they were looking at her two kits one for finger nails and one for cheek art. She opened both and one of the ladies said that she didn’t have face paint. Entertainer said this is cheek art paint and they were not happy with it. Entertainer said she could do finger nail painting if they were not happy with her cheek art. The lady said she was going to [redacted] to buy face paint. Entertainer said that face painting seemed more important to them than having her there as a princess. Entertainer is an amazing performer. She is a trained in dance and in theater. She worked for hours on her makeup for this job to look the part and arrived at the designated contractual time. She was there to be a PRINCESS not a face painter. She does small cheek art, nail painting and balloon designs. [redacted] is not a trained face painter. She treats all of her clients with appropriate professionalism. It matters not to her or to my family the clients’ Religious beliefs or race. [redacted] commits to the company standards and expectations of the character for which she was hired. The next day, Entertainer received a text from Ms. [redacted] asking what type of material she used to do the cheek art. Entertainer mentioned it was what Imagine Entertainers distributes to their characters. Entertainer did exactly what she always does, other than performing face painting and complying with the extra 30 minutes that was requested, by this client. The birthday girl should have been there at 6pm. Entertainer was put in a hallway to hide for 36 minutes, which is time wasted on the client’s behalf. Never has this happened before and giving them 15 extra minutes was kind enough. This situation has made my daughter extremely upset and stressed out. These women should not have lectured her on being better at her job giving into more time and that ‘her’ family should understand that it the right thing to do when you are working. We were there on time and did our job waiting for Entertainer to work during the 6pm to 7pm contracted time. Entertainer does this job because she loves performing and making children happy. Never in the year of doing parties has she had any complaints. Thank you, [redacted] The day after the party the client called me to express her dissatisfaction over not getting what she hired our entertainer to do. Unfortunately there was not enough time for our entertainer to do all of the children’s faces because the party got started so late. I am sorry that we could not come to a resolution over that phone conversation. In the complaint the client mentions that she heard me yelling in the background and that my husband would not give her my name. Unfortunately this is not what happened. I was not yelling and my husband told her my name. I have many positive reviews from our past clients. I would never yell at a client and always try to make our customers happy with our services from the time I receive their request to even after the party. Customer Service is crucial for a business to thrive and we desire for people to be satisfied. We do not discriminate based on color, race, religion or any other factors. I feel very sad about this whole situation because it is truly our desire that the children and parents are satisfied with our services. Our entertainer fulfilled what she was contracted to do and in fact went beyond the time she was contracted to be there. However, there was not enough time to do all of the children’s faces since the party got started so late. In hindsight I wish I would have stressed to the client to have our entertainer arrive at least 30 minutes or more after the start of her party so all of her guests and the birthday girl could be there for the whole time we were contracted. I would like to refund my profit from this transaction which is the deposit of $80 minus the fees that [redacted] charged me which was $20. I would like to refund the client $60 to help resolve this conflict. Thank you, [redacted]

Review: On 01/10/16, I called [redacted] of Imagine Entertainers to express the dissatisfaction we experienced from her entertainer "[redacted]" on 01/09/16. [redacted] stated that she would contact the entertainer to get a better understanding of what happened, and then she would call me back. When [redacted] called back, she was very rude, unprofessional, as well as unapologetic.

Throughout the conversation, [redacted] angrily and aggressively repeated to me, "What you told me Shay was untrue. [redacted] had her face paint, but you wanted full face paint. We don't offer that." My response to [redacted] was, "I did not request full face paint. I wanted everything that the offered package included. Face painting was included in the services I contracted for.” In fact, [redacted] told my sister that she only had nail polish. My sister and her friend both saw that [redacted] only brought nail polish with her to the party. Once [redacted] told them that she did not have face paint, my sister and her friend promptly went to the nearby [redacted] and personally purchased face paint. Prior to their leaving [redacted] agreed that she would stay for an additional ½ hour to do the face painting since she arrived at the party unprepared to fulfill the services that I had contracted her for. Doing my attempted conversation with [redacted] she refused to listen to my account of what actually happened at the party. She repeatedly called me a liar, and eventually hung the phone up on me. I did call back, a man who identified himself as Tim, Paula’s husband refused to provide Paula’s last name, the contact information for the company or anything, and refused to allow me to speak with her again. Meanwhile in the background I could hear [redacted] yelling. The treatment I have received from Imagine Entertainers has been reprehensible. [redacted]’s response to my consumer complaint was the worst example of customer service by a business owner that I have ever experienced. I have multiple witnesses who were present at the party who can, and will validate my account of what actually happened. They also witnessed [redacted] texting on her phone, sitting down and not being attentive to the children during the party. As the party host and the person who contracted the services, [redacted] should have notified me that she did not have face paint. In fact, after [redacted] decided to leave before the ½ hour (that she agreed to stay), one of my cousins did the face painting that [redacted] was contracted to do. Prior to leaving [redacted] did paint (with our face paint) a small, pale heart on [redacted] cheek; the other party goers received face paint designs from my cousin.

Nothing about this entire situation has been fair, or professional. Nor does the behavior of [redacted], as the business owner, exhibit any idea of what real customer service is; nor does her display show her ability to take personal ownership of honoring her business agreements as a priority or management skillset that she possesses. I can only imagine how many other people, especially people of color that Imagine Entertainers has failed to honor contracted services and refused to even apologize for their inadequacies; much less reimburse for services that were not rendered. Something needs to be done about this immediately!Desired Settlement: An apology and reimbursement

the birthday girl could be there for the whole time we were contracted. I would like to refund my profit from this

transaction which is the deposit of $80 minus the fees that [redacted] charged

me which was $20. I would like to refund

the client $60 to help resolve this conflict. Thank you, [redacted]

The business reached out to Revdex.com to provide an update to this complaint. An agreement was made with the customer and booking company and it is the understanding of the business this has been resolved.

Response:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The business owner nor the "entertainer" mother were at the event, therefore their account of the event is simply hearsay and I am highly offended at the implication that I am a liar. Also the customer service I received was horrific and traumatizing not only to me but to my daughter who was looking forward to face painting that was not done. I appreciate the effort to provide a partial refund but I as the consumer should not have to accrue the [redacted] fee and at no point in her statement did she ever offer an apology for the way she treated me and or the disappointment that the children suffered as a result of the "entertainers" inability to preform her job. The level of service I received is despicable and I believe the general public has the right to know what to expect when doing business with this company.

Revdex.com spoke with the business. The customer was contacted after this began and an agreement was made between the third party booking agency, the business, and the customer that the customer would receive the refund of $80. The customer has received the refund she agreed to of $80.
