Review: We order what was labeled as a microfilm viewer (Bell and Howell Microfilm Part: ABR-1020 Bell) and instead received a microfiche viewer. Upon contacting the company, we spoke to the owner, who refused to acknowledge their error, or provide us with refund.
The owner then offered to forgo a 20% restocking fee, if we would purchase a refurbished microfilm viewer, which he advertises for $100 or $150, for the inflated price of $800 to $1200.Desired Settlement: We desire a full refund for the merchandise, and shipping costs.

The machine is on our website - microfilmstore.com. It is listed under the category of Reader - no where does it say microfilm reader in the description. When you look at the picture of the machine (which is a very good pic) - it is clearly a microfiche reader. The customer never asked if it was a microfilm reader and was never told it was a microfilm reader - The customer called with the part # - I looked up the part # - quoted price and availability.
We did offer to take it back and waive the restocking fee. Yes we suggested other machines that would fit his need - and yes the price would be much higher being microfilm readers.
We answered all the customers questions and explained that our website was not deceiving. The picture is clear - and the terms "microfilm reader" aren't listed anywhere in the description. The term reader is a generic term for all types of readers - microfilm or microfiche.

1. The attached picture is what is on our website - the watermark is above the fiche tray - making the fiche tray very obvious.
2 The term "Microfilm" is indeed a generic term for all microfilm items - fiche, reader etc. In the business there are "Scanner" items and "Microfilm" items.
3. When the customer asked for an even exchange - that is just not a possible solution - there are no microfilm readers of that type on the market for $100.00.
4. The customer gave the Part # - which is the machine ABR-1020 to order - he gave no description of the machine - stating that he was looking for a microfilm
reader versus microfiche reader. We had no discussion - except for address, part #, credit card etc.
