There are a few kiosks in the Columbia Mall in Grand Forks, ND that are all owned by the same person. His name is Gal. The kiosks are for a hair straightener, some "dead sea" lotion/face stuff and the last is for a message device that hooks up to you via electrodes and looks kind of like an iPad. It's called iMessage. My dad bought one for my mom since she had a stroke and it is supposed to aliviate pain, to see if it would work for her chronic pain. He explained the situation to the person selling it and she said "if it doesn't work, bring it back for a dull refund". Sounded too good to be true, well it was. He tried bringing it back but the kiosk was gone. He called the phone number on the card she gave him multiple times but no one would answer or ever call him back. When he did finally speak to her, she explained that she did not know the owner and had no contact information for them. Even though she works for them. Well the kiosk came back so he tried in person. The guy said he didn't care that it didn't work for her and he would not refund the money. Even though they have a 100% guarantee sign right on the kiosk. He said he didn't own it when my dad bought it, so it wasn't his problem. My dad said it really doesn't seem like you care about your customers, Hal flat out said - no, I don't. Well my dad called the first girl back that he got the card from, explained what Gal had said and she said she would make some calls. Eventually she called him back and said she took care of it, go back to the kiosk & they will refund you. So he did & they finally did refund him. They were very shady the entire time, everyone he talked to "didn't know who the owner was", etc. I don't think they should be doing business in North Dakota. We are honest people and don't like being taken advantage of. I think that they are playing a type of shell game on their customers. As soon as you have a complaint or concern, they pretend they didn't own it at the time, so not their problem. Why even bother with the 100% guarantee sign? Just admit, no returns, no refunds. Well I'm guessing it's their biggest selling point. These items cost around $200.00. It's the only way the trick people into buying them. Then once you do, you're stuck with it. No matter what their signs say. Which should fall under false advertising.
