On 9/17/18 I used my Reliance Bank MasterCard credit card to make a payment using ***. Almost immediately I realized that the person that I sent the payment to was a scammer. (I was purchasing concert tickets that were supposed to be delivered electronically after I sent a payment). I immediately contacted *** via email, the only method available, and was advised to contact my bank. I can provide my email conversation with *** showing that I notified them of the fraud, provided evidence of the fraud, warned them that fraud was continuing at that moment, and identified the fraudulent user as *** This was at approximately 10:00 pm, so I called ***, the number on the back of my credit card identified as "Reliance Bank ***". I explained to the representative that I had just sent a payment to a known scammer. I told her that the transaction was in the amount of $100. She asked me to verify the transactions on my account and we went through the most recent charges (including ***, all made on the same day). She advised that there was not a $100 charge on my account, and that there was not a pending charge for $100 either. She advised that she could close my account to prevent it from coming through. She warned that I would be without my card for quite a while because they would have to mail me a new one. I advised her to take whatever action necessary to make sure that this charge did not come through because it was for sure fraud. I even asked her again at the end of the call if there was anyway for the charge to come through and she confirmed that there was not. I ended the call confident that the company had resolved my issue. The next day the charge appeared in my account. I contacted my local branch and filled out the necessary paperwork to dispute the charges. I later received a letter stating that they would not reverse the charge or assist me in recovering the money due to Reg E.
