Review: Impact Directories located at [redacted] Yakima WA. Sold me Bold listings in the 2013 to 2014 telephone directory. At issue is that they placed in the wrong phone number. When a customer calls they get a collection agency. This is a very bad first impression of my business. I now have my customers calling a wrong number for at least 12 months and possible more time as these phone books tend to stick around for a long time. I was told that Impact prints and distributes 18,000 of these books. I have spoken with the owner [redacted] out of Boise Idaho office and he just says the contract says. He is not willing to do any thing to correct the problem. When I was sold these services I was told that the phone book could directly impact my business by as much as 50% and that how important is to my customers to be able to contact me. When I spoke with [redacted] he agreed that the phone book is a very important business tool. The next sentence he said it should not impact my business that much because my customers will realize that it is just a wrong number. He also agreed that we really won't know until the end of next phone book cycle. If what they are telling me is truly the impact that the phone book can have on a business this will be a Hugh hit to my businesses overall success this year.Desired Settlement: Going by Impact Directories own statements this is going to affect my bottom line of business by as much as 50%. That is 50% of 1.2 million is $600,000 potential gross sales lost. What I am requesting is a full refund of money paid to Impact Directories for 2013-2014 phone book and a $800.00 per month for 12 months to advertise my correct phone number in the local newspaper and radio. I believe that this is the only way I can promote the proper message and phone number to my customers.

Thank you for your letter dated May 17, 2013. We were aware of the situation with this customer, and we regret the error, which we take full responsibility for. The error occurred in one of five listings he placed with us, one we gave him for free. The other four listings he placed, as well as his quarter page ad, were all printed accurately. We corrected the listing on our online directory as soon as we found out about it. Even though we gave him the listing for free, we have refunded him the full retail value of that listing and have offered him $1400 in free advertising in the next edition of the directory. We sent this offer to him prior to receiving this complaint, and we are confident that it will compensate him for any loss he may experience this year, many times over. We wish him success in his business going forward.

I have not received a written offer to settle from this company nor have I recieved any refund. I continue to have custmers tell me that they had a hard time contacting me because of the wrong phone number listed.

I sent the letter and check out on Monday. It is possible that it has not yet reached the customer, though mail between here and Ellensburg is usually pretty quick.
