I purchased a car from Imperial Highline Used Autos on 28 January‚ 2020. The car was shipped to me in California but to date‚ I have not received title to the car. Three separate times I have been told that it would arrive by a certain date without it arriving. I keep being told that the title was sent off to Virginia DMV for processing. However, since I am not registering the car in VA this does not need to be done. Additionally, it has now been more than 6 weeks since I purchased the car. If the title was actually sent to Virginia DMV, that would only take about 14 days as per the VA DMV web page.
Attached is the response to Complaint ID RE: ***. On 01/28/2020, . *** purchased a 2018 *** from Imperial Highline of Tysons. On 02/18/2020, I processed a dealer title only on *** to have the title flipped. On 03/01/2020, after not receiving the title I contacted *** for an update. *** advised me to contact DMV Headquarters. On 03/01/2020, I spoke with *** from DMV headquarters, I was advised to allow additional time to receive the title. On 03/11/2020, I spoke to *** regarding the title. I advised her of my previous conversations with the VA DMV regarding the title. On 03/18/2020, I was told by DMV Headquarters the title had been mailed. On 03/25/2020, I was told that the title was more than likely lost in the mail as I have not received it yet. I sent documents to the VA DMV *** location, to obtain a duplicate title for the customer. *** contacted me on 04/20/2020 and advised me there was a “hold” on the title. I had to send them documentation in order to have the hold removed, which was completed on 04/22/2020. I mailed the title via *** to the customer on 04/29/2020. The *** tracking shows the title documents were delivered to the customers address on 04/30/2020 at 3:42 p.m.
