[redacted] has been a long time member of our credit union. In reviewing the activity on [redacted] account it is evident that several of her accounts are in collection. The loan documents that [redacted] signed with the credit union disclose a cross-collateralization clause which states... that the borrower pledges as security all shares on deposit in all joint and individual accounts with the credit union, whereby when a loan payment is in default we have the right to offset money on deposit to the loan. At the time the loan payment transfers were made from her son's account, [redacted] was a joint owner on the account the funds were withdrawn from to apply to her delinquent loans. According to our records, [redacted] has been in contact with our collections department regarding her accounts; however, I will have our Chief Lending Officer to contact her directly to discuss this matter with her and make sure that she understands what happened and that the actions taken were authorized per the loan and security agreements she signed.
