The vehicle had been though a third party inspection before it was offered for sale. The transmission was not brought up or anything about lights. Import Auto Sales trys to make sure car are in operable and safe condition when they are offered for sale. Import Auto Sales will arrange a time to meet with consumer and get there car registered to them at there own cost. We will not cover cost of transfer or registration because that was not part of the deal.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: This is not a case of buyers remorse, this is a case of bad dealer sales practice. The dealer should have disclosed the transmission and the broken radiator mount at least. None of these things were sudden issues and were known by the dealer and should have been disclosed. I would never recommend anyone buying from this dealer. It has now been 27 days since day of purchase and still unable to register that car because of missing signature by notary on dealer paperwork. Dealers response was not they would not do anything to help and I would just be responsible for paying DOL penalties for not registering the car after 14 days even though DOL says I can't register and it must be done by dealer.
Severely disappointed by lack of honesty. Would like dealer to resolve registration as soon as possible by meeting at DOL and registering the car on my behalf. I shouldn't be penalized any more than having to deal with an unethical salesman.
Sincerely,

This is a response on behalf of Import Auto Sales for the transaction that happened 5/30/16 for the purchase of the 2000 Volvo s70. Import auto sales would love the opportunity to shed light on this matter as some things in the complaint are not accurate and are misleading. True the buyer did come...

test drive the vehicle and liked the overall shape and condition of the vehicle. However regarding the maintanance the only thing mentioned was that all the service the car had are up on the carfax and that we had proof of that if they needed it. Buyer checked the vehicle inside and out before purchase. Car drove smooth and braked nice when we owned it and during test drive. During purchase the buyer said they would like to register the car themselves. We told them we dont charge dlr fees so it would cost same if we did it or if they did it. Buyer said they would feel better if they could do it on there own. All original paperwork including title was given to buyer so they could do so. Car was sold in as is condition with no warranty expressed or implied. We tried to work a deal to help the buyer with the repairs, to which the buyer responded and we quote" im tired of this sh##" later saying they are mailing us the title and now want us to do the transfer for them. Also that they will fix car else where. Two days later buyer connected us asking status on transfer and when we asked if they had sent the paperwork to us there response was they did have our address even though its everywhere on there paperwork and we gave it to them when they came for the first time. After that we asked if they would bring paperwork to us or just drop it in our drop box so we could do transfer. A few days later we even made arrangement to go north and meet with them to get paperwork and when we got there they said they forgot all the paperwork elsewhere. Next day buyer connected sales person telling him they would start bashing them everywhere including Revdex.com online report us to all the agency's. After that sales person told them they will no longer try to help them to get the vehicle repaired. We are very sorry that this has escalated to this and hope to resolve this matter. We will not do a refund and we will not fix the car for free. That is we feel upsurd. We feel that this is a case of buyers remorse. We would like buyer to bring there paperwork in or meet at a Licensing office to transfer ownership of vehicle. Thank you for the opportunity to show our side of the situation. Looking forward to getting this resolved asap.

Review: I live in ** in the winter and [redacted] in the summer. I saw a [redacted] advertised on [redacted] and called the dealer. I also checked the rating of this dealer. I dealt with a man named [redacted] and talked to him several times, as did my husband, about this car. He said it was in great shape, that he had driven it to go skiing recently. I explained that I was in ** and would be storing it at a friend's house in [redacted] until Spring, that I had never bought a car unseen, etc. and we went over every detail of its **ndition. I had my friend **me see it and it looked clean inside but she is no mechanic. He said it had very little rust; it has a huge amount of rust. When I came to pick it up in [redacted] last week, it needed: a set of new tires, brake adjustment, brake shoes, a new oil pan, exhaust work, an oxygen sensor, just so I **uld drive it to [redacted]. The price at [redacted], in [redacted], was $2877.15. It was making a loud clicking noise and I just took it today to a [redacted] mechanic and it needs a new axle and bearings, estimated at another $800 to $1000. The car was not moved all winter so these are all things that were wrong when he delivered it. I know about "buyer beware" but he said they stand behind their cars and was very **nvincing. And now I see on Google reviews of this dealer that they have done the same to other buyers, that they buy defective cars at auction and pass them off as "as is" and don't stand behind their sales. I feel that I was scammed and lied to and in no way would I have bought this car if I had any idea that it was not even drivable without spending almost $3000. And now I have to spend more. A return of my money would not be helpful because I have had to invest so much more and more to **me. These people are disreputable and should not be in business.Desired Settlement: I would want a refund if I *could get one for the total amount I have spent. Also, besides the selling price of $6000, I paid $300, supposedly some ** handling fee which I now doubt. I would also **nsider a replacement in really good **ndition, but it is a rare car in the East, was only made from 2003 to 2006. I have no idea if there is any reimurse but if there is I am really interested. I was totally scammed. My summer phone number is not the one above: it is [redacted]

Review: Seller concealed or failed to disclose the true condition of the vehicle in his ad, which included an extensive amount of pictures. The extensive amount of rust could only be concealed intentionally. The frame of the car is rusted so badly that the rear tires cannot be changed because there is no frame left on which to place the jack. Upon visual inspection, I pointed out the damage, and the seller assured me that the rust was not extensive, as the car was in fact mostly plastic and that it would only cost $250 to fix. Nothing about his statements are true. My husband and I traveled from [redacted] to [redacted] to pick up the vehicle (we will be living in [redacted]). Due to the misleading advertising, we found ourselves 1400 miles away from [redacted], and having to try to make the best out of a bad situation by working with this less than honest seller. The seller reduced the original price by $386. This transaction was done through [redacted].Desired Settlement: The repairs to the car are estimated at $2500. I would like to be refunded these monies, and all of the trouble that I am going through will just be chalked up as simply a "life lesson".

Review: The seller a dealer was selling a 2000 [redacted].Im in NY dealer is in CT so I went by the dealer post and word. I do not expect a new vehicle but I do expect a safe vehicle to drive over 4hrs back home. My 19 year old son went to pick the vehicle up. Dealer said the [redacted] is in excellent condition with a CD radio. Half way home my son calls me telling me both side view mirrors are broken and flopping held on my tape and zip ties. Making driving very difficult and dangerous. Driver behind him tells my son he has no taillights again making driving very dangerous. Drill holes on bottom of both sides of the [redacted]. Yes no CD player but a terrible tape deck. The dealer/owner clearly misrepresented this vehicle claiming its in excellent condition with a CD player. I'm now very worried what else is wrong with this vehicle. Took it to my mechanic and the [redacted] needs $1000 worth of work including new breaks! Talk about an unsafe vehicle to drive home 4 hours. This dealer is obviously a cheat and a crookDesired Settlement: I want the dealer to pay for the repairs the [redacted] needs

Review: I test drove the car in heavy rain and was told the sunroof worked but I shouldn't open it because of the rain. The sunroof does not work.

It was winter (Dec. 2012) when I bought the car and ! did not try to open the sunroof for several weeks. When I discovered that it did not work as the sales person assured me, I filed a complaint (Feb. 2013) through ebay where the car was listed. The sales person contacted me and again told me that the sunroof worked when he sold me the car. I have since discovered that the wire to the sunroof control switch was disconnected. When I reconnected it (June 2013) and pressed the switch it became obvious that there is a problem with the sunroof- as it makes noise but does not open. I believe that the dealer knew the sunroof did not work and perhaps disconnected it, or purchased it at auction that way.

Desired Settlement: I would like to determine the cost of fixing the sunroof so that it works properly and have the dealer cover that cost.

Review: Purchased [redacted] with advertised reinforced solid frame for 4,700 on pick up of [redacted] control arm broke causing a severe wobble returned dealer took weekend to fix. A week later heard noises brought to mechanic the mechanic refused to fix all issues because frame was unsafe and rotted with holes. Contacted dealer played phone tag. Called [redacted] they asked about [redacted] form. I never heard of it. Called dealer he accused U.S. Of loosing it. We asked for a copy he refused thousands of dollars invested to get this [redacted] safe for driving.Desired Settlement: Refund of all frame and work done to make vehicle safe to drive. [redacted] is 6 months still fixing issues that the safety inspection should have been disclosed befor purchase pursuing to small claims court

This used car dealer should be avoided by all means. We bought the car based on a written description that said "clean and rust free". I still can't believe that someone can get away with such a malicious misrepresentation of a product. There were many pictures, carefully taken so as to hide the damage. I traveled from south Florida to find a rust bucket. There were holes that you could fit a football thru. The frame is a total loss. You can't use the jack because there is no place left to place it. If I can stop someone from being harmed as I was, it would be good.

Review: Vehicle was advertised as "economical and reliable" and having "all maintenance up to date", this was not the case the engine had major internal and external issues everything from leaks to broken piston.Desired Settlement: I would like the dealer to "help with the cost of repairs" as he promised.

Review: Bought a car from this dealership on [redacted] and paid $850 to have the car shipped to me in [redacted]. The car was no where near the condition described in the listing. In the description the seller describes the appearance of the vehicle as "excellent". The car would be no where near excellent condition by any normal dealer standards. Overall grade of the car would have to be poor. The car is covered from back to front with nicks scratches and dents. Theres a very visible scratch going all the way across the hood and many large scratches on the doors, trunk and bumper. There are golfball sized dents in the hood and on the top of the car. The paint has been ruined on one side of the car where it was attempted to buff out some scratches or something. There are nicks and chips in the paint all over the car and yet the seller claims "The paint is glossy and smooth." The seller also claimed "The 6 speed manual transmission shifts perfectly though all the gears offer very powerful and comfortable driving experience." The car definitely has problems on the road, when you get up to about 60 mph you can feel and hear the unstableness of the car due to it having 3 bent rims as well as other mechanical problems we are still reviewing. The windshield has a large crack in it and definitely needs to be replaced. Inside the car there is a large hole in the carpet on the drivers side. None of these items were disclosed in the listing and the pictures do not show the considerable amount of damage to the car, all which was noted by the transport service when they picked up the vehicle. The driver also noted that the seller refused to sign when the car was picked up and the driver also agreed to provide me with an affidavit testifying to the condition of the car when he picked it up. Lastly, despite my paying the seller in full by wire transfer he did not include the title with the car and told me over the phone since I complained that he would not mail the title for 88 days.Desired Settlement: There are two acceptable solutions. Solution #1: a full refund including transportation and his $200 "document fee" for a total of $12,050 and then he can arrange to have the car picked up and brought back to him. Solutions #2: I get estimates to fix all the body damage, windshield, new wheels, etc. and then seller sends me the money to cover the cost of the repairs.
