Dear Sirs,
This car was brought in for a #coil problem,
as per the first line of the client concern line, "Client
has had a lot of problems with the #cylinder coil failing"The fact of the matter is, that the car has the exact same
problem that it came withThe car was therefore not fixed. I find it hard to believe that the same #
coil keeps going out over and over before and after the car was repairedIt
cannot be the same coil every timeAs stated in the client concern line
"Replaced all the coils twice with factory coils and then the #three
additional timesThen it was replaced two additional times after the repair!!
There is without a doubt something else wrongThat's why I brought it in so it
could be properly diagnosed and repaired
Under "diagnosed clients concerns" was stated that "There are
three ignition coil connectors that have broken clips that secure the harness
to the plug." A broken clip does not keep the wire from being connected
and doing its job as all the other cylinders were working perfectlyYour
diagnosis even confirmed this by stating "Moved the spark plug and ignition
coil to adjacent cylindersStarted the engine cold and the misfire is goneTest
drove at full operating condition and have found the same results"If only three
clips were broken then why were all four replacedIf one was still good then
you replaced something that was still working
As for returning the car after
milesI have written records of everything that I do, or have doneto the
car and the mileage on it when I get gasSo the car broke down again only miles
after the so called repairI live and work in the local area, I am trying to
sell this car, so why would I want to put miles on it in just a few weeks
The car was picked up from the shop on 7-27-and broke down on 8-22-It
doesn't matter if I drove the car ten thousand miles, the warranty was for a
month period, or 12,miles whichever comes first I was told that "we guarantee all our work
for months, and no one else can find what we can find"
What if someone
had brought something into a shop with a specific problem and the place they
brought it to worked on it, then said it was "fixed"So they took it home and
it seemed to work fineThen not much later it failed the exact same way as
before they took it to them. You brought
it back and the shop who fixed it said "it was just the component failing
again for the fifth or sixth time and not what they worked on." Does this sound
right?
The car was recalled in
for the coils and they were replaced at the Volkswagen dealership with new
coilsIt is my conclusion that the
vehicle still has the original #coil failure as stated when the car was
brought into the repair center

Revdex.comMESSAGE FROM BUSINESS:I really see no need to repeat ourselves over again. Please refer to the original response that we provided. Just because the other shops did not find the problems that we did and the fact that they kept replacing the same parts does not mean the same problem has been occurring each time. The car suffered the same symptom only. This is not going to be an ongoing debate or an education class for [redacted]. He needs to replace his coil with one of his six spares and move on.[redacted]

So [redacted], you still believe that if I replace the coil again that this will
solve the problem? Is the next one the magic coil? What kind of mechanic (not
really sure of your credentials) believes that if you keep replacing the same
part over and over again it will fix the problemThat's basic
troubleshooting!! You just don't keep replacing the same part hoping that it will
solve the issueI guess you have to make money one way or anotherLet me ask
you this, if a headlight went out in your car and you replaced it and it went
out again then again a few more times, would you still keep replacing it, or do the
basic troubleshooting and try to find out what else was wrong? How many times
does it take to replace an item before you start to think maybe, just maybe it
was not the item? Do I need to place a case of coils in the trunk, so that when
I sell the vehicle, I just say, "there's a box of coils in the trunk, so if any
one goes out just grab one"?
What do you mean by "the fact that they kept
replacing the same parts does not mean the same problem has been occurring each
time"? The same problem obviously has
been reoccurring - several times! Same coil, same issue, same problem
Other shops
did some trouble shooting, and replaced other components including a coilThey
did basic troubleshooting (not replacing items several times) but they just couldn't
figure out why the coil was going outThat's why I brought the car to you – because
of your guaranteeI've replaced most of the coils myself, with a simple remove
and replace that anyone can do
[redacted], you are right, you don't have
to repeat yourself again, because you just don't get itYou have NOT fixed the
problem, and you are NOT standing by your guarantee!!
