Review: I had a timing belt break in a Tiguan right before trading it in on a new car in a week and didn't want to tell the dealership, so was trying to get it fixed before I picked up the new car. Knowing that the timing belt issue could take some time, I called on 8/4/16 all the VW dealerships around me, but none of them could get it done by end of 8/8. Day VW assured me 100% they could have it fixed by end of 8/8, even after I stated repeatedly that it all possibly needs replaced. I paid almost $100 to AAA to have it towed there from my house and the car arrived on 8/4 @ 4:20pm. After not hearing anything for a couple of days, I called on Saturday and they still hadn't started on it and assured they will get right on it. Called again on Monday 8/8 @ 3:07 and they just started on it. Obviously, they weren't going to be able to finish my car by the end of the day, so I asked to speak to the manager. He told me they have to send out the head to a machine shop and the car wouldn't be done til 8/17. So, I told the dealership what was going on and they understandably lowered the price they were originally giving for the used Tiguan by almost $2000. When 8/17 came and I hadn't heard anything, I called @ 1:15. They informed me they put everything back and the car wouldn't work. They found out the machine shop sent them back the wrong head. Finally, Day VW called on 8/19 at 4:39 to say the car was ready and was going to be over $3634.26 with $1260 of this being labor. They missed 2 deadlines, more importantly the first "promised" deadline of 8/8 and wasn't completed until 8/19. They charge $120/hr normally for labor, but charged me $85/hr for the trouble. I discussed this with 2 other VW dealerships and they said it wasn't right that I was still getting charged for labor cost and Day VW was not eating any cost for this fix, besides making slightly less profit. Even with a lower labor rate, they still made a large profit off this job. So, the customer (myself) had to foot the labor bill for their mistakes.Desired Settlement: I'm fine with paying for the materials used for this auto repair, but I should not have had to pay for the labor cost. I already paid the bill, but believe I should be refunded the $1260 that I paid for the labor costs. After talking with 2 other VW dealerships, I realized I shouldn't have to pay for this labor cost after they missed their promised deadline and missed the next deadline after that. Very upset that the only just started working on the car the same day they said they could fix it

September 12, 2016 Ms. [redacted] Revdex.com of Western Pennsylvania 400 Holiday Drive – Suite 220 Pittsburgh, PA 15220 Re: [redacted]i, ID # [redacted] Dear Ms. [redacted]: This reply is in response to the complaint filed with your office by [redacted] against Imports by Day in Monroeville, PA. I just discussed the details of this complaint with Brett G[redacted], our Service Director. After reviewing all of the facts, I would offer the following summary… Mr. G[redacted] had his car towed to Imports with the thought that he only needed a timing belt. During the initial diagnostics, our technician determined that the valves were bent and the issue was much greater than just replacing a timing belt. Mr. G[redacted] was very clear that he was pressed for time because he was taking his vehicle to another dealership to trade it for something else. Once we received the approval from Mr. G[redacted] to proceed on the repairs, we sent the head to a machine shop to determine if it needed valves, and to receive an estimate of the repair costs. Brett spoke to Mr. G[redacted] several times during this process and Mr. G[redacted] even asked Brett if there was any way to just get the car running so he could trade it in. He did not seem concerned if the vehicle only made it a few miles because he just wanted rid of the vehicle. Brett told him that the engine was an inference engine and once the belt goes, it will almost always cause catastrophic damage to the engine. The worst case price scenario to repair the vehicle was somewhere around $3800, and Mr. G[redacted] was “OK” with this estimate. Unfortunately, we did receive the incorrect head from the machine shop which delayed completing the repairs by a few days. When we received the invoice for the repairs from the machine shop, the total cost was in excess of $4500, almost $700 more than the original estimate. Instead of asking Mr. G[redacted] to pay the additional cost, we made a goodwill adjustment to the bill and we absorbed the added cost. When he picked up the vehicle, Brett met him in the showroom with his wife and newborn baby. He went over the bill with him and showed him where we adjusted the total to honor the price that was originally quoted. He reiterated to Brett that he was taking the vehicle to another dealer to trade it in and that the cost of the repairs was really bad timing for him. He claimed that if he had traded it one week earlier, he would not have incurred the expense. As a reminder, our delay in repairing his vehicle was a direct result of having to wait on the sublet repairs from the machine shop. Even though our internal bill to that shop came in higher than the estimate, we made a goodwill adjustment of over $700 to honor the original cost that we quoted him. Mr. G[redacted] was updated constantly throughout the process and he truly seemed appreciative when he left our dealership. This past Friday, he did call our Service Advisor, Mike C[redacted] to request another copy of his paperwork. His reasoning was that the dealer where he was trading it was giving him a low number on his car and he wanted to show them the value of the repairs. I cannot emphasize enough that his initial request of a timing belt replacement would not have fixed his car. The vehicle also needed excessive head work and that is not an easy or a timely fix. Regardless of the opinions that he solicited from other VW stores, Imports provided the repairs that were expected AND we provided those services at a discounted price. I would hope that this reply is suitable for your records. Review: We purchased a 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan from Day Imports in January of 2011. This vehicle was inspected annually at Day Imports. The vehicle maintenance has been meticulously maintained. It has less than 25,000 miles and has been not running for 1 year. During the year I have had my mechanic look at the vehicle. It has thrown the timing/tensioner belt and ruined the engine. My Mechanic has researched this issue extensively and has informed me that this is a very well known problem with the Tiguan. Volkswagen offers a repair kit for the problem to dealers. However, I have spoken with several people at Day Imports and several people at Volkswagen and I am getting complete refusal to pay to fix my vehicle. This car is so new that the paint markings from manufacturing are still on the undercarriage. I can't pay $6,000 to fix this vehicle. I feel that VW or Day should remedy this situation. I have done everthing on my end to remedy this issue. And I have done everything to maintain the vehicle. I have a $30,000 vehicle sitting in my driveway that I can't fix, drive, or sell.......Desired Settlement: Day Import, should as a responsible business in my community, go to Volkswagen on my behalf to have this vehicle repaired as quickly as possible. Not having a running vechicle is affecting my Son's ability to earn an income. This needs to be remedied immediately.

August 16, 2016 Ms. [redacted] Revdex.com of Western Pennsylvania 400 Holiday Drive – Suite 220 Pittsburgh, PA 15220 Re: [redacted], ID # [redacted] Dear Ms. [redacted] This reply is in response to the complaint filed with your office by [redacted] against Imports by Day in Monroeville, PA. I just discussed the details of this complaint with Brett G[redacted] our Service Director. After reviewing all of the facts, I would offer the following summary… Ms. [redacted] did purchase a 2010 VW Tiguan from us in January of 2011. A while ago, Brett received a phone call from Ms. [redacted] requesting a meeting with him but she never said why she wanted to meet. She arrived for the meeting with another lady (who did not identify herself) and then she proceeded to tell him her concerns about her Tiguan. Brett told her that we can diagnose it and call VW to see if they will offer any assistance. At that suggestion, Ms. [redacted] told Brett that she had already called VW and opened a case. Brett called VW and quickly learned that VW had already refused to provide Ms. [redacted] with any assistance and they closed the case; however, they did add that if we would verify that the part had failed, then they would take a second look at providing assistance. Later that afternoon, her Tiguan arrived at Imports via a tow truck. After inspecting her vehicle, we agreed with her technician that her VW had jumped time, etc. We then called VW and they asked to see all of her maintenance records. Unfortunately, we only had one record on-file for her Tiguan at our store. VW stated that their vehicles require a maintenance service every year or every 12K-miles. As such, her car should have had 4 maintenance services, yet Ms. [redacted] could only produce proof of 2. As a result, VW stood by their decision NOT to provide any assistance towards a repair for her Tiguan. Brett called Ms. [redacted] to disclose VW’s position and she was obviously upset and disappointed. She then threatened to sue the Day Auto Group and said she was contemplating hiring an attorney. She did not pay for the diagnostics fee of $110 and she had her car towed off of our lot without our knowledge. She told Brett that she expected the Day Auto Group to pay for her repairs because we did not inform her that her Tiguan would require any regular maintenance services. Brett explained to her that her vehicle is equipped with an internal clock that tells her when the services should be performed. On a side note, it is a common issue for the timing chain to malfunction in a VW if the oil in the vehicle is not serviced on a regular basis as prescribed by VW. I would hope that this reply is suitable for your records. Review: I am new to the Pittsburgh Area, and when my timing belt snapped in my car, I brought my audi to the Day Audi Dealership on Golden Mile Highway in Monroeville, PA. While at first they seemed friendly and helpful, I have since found out they are anything but. After trying to repair the timing belt, [redacted] in their service department informed me that I would either need to put in a new engine in the car or send out the heads to a machine shop to fix, and then they could reassemble the engine. It was at this time that I specifically asked him pricing, as I am not wealthy and don't have thousands of dollars sitting around. [redacted] told me that a new engine would be more then $10,000, and to fix the current engine would be $4,200. I again asked [redacted] if $4,200 was the total price of repairs, because I didn't have any more money then that, and wouldn't be able to afford more. [redacted] in the service department confirmed that $4,200 would cover all the repairs necessary, and if it would be more then $4,200 he would call me first to confirm that they should complete the additional work. I never received a call from [redacted] letting me know more repairs would be necessary, or that they bill would be more. For the past 2 weeks, I have had to chance them down, they will not return a call. They keep telling me my car will be done on a specific day, and then when I chase them down, tell me it's not done yet. My last call to [redacted] in the service department at Day Audi was today, July 11,2014. They have been giving me various days in the last week that my car would be done. It is still not done, and he couldn't give me a final bill yet. He did inform me that they needed to put in a new oil sender unit, which he did not call me about. When I asked to confirm that it would still be no more then $4,200, he tried to tell me that he had never said that to me, and that $4,200 was only for the 2nd part of the repairs. I have dealt with many mechanics, and Day Audi, specifically [redacted] in Service, has been my worst experience.Desired Settlement: I simply want my car repaired, and the bill to be held to $4,200, like [redacted] in the Service Department at Day Audi had told me the entire time.

This reply is in response to the complaint filed with your office by [redacted] against Imports by Day in Monroeville, PA.

I just reviewed the details of Mr. [redacted]’s complaint with [redacted], our Service Director. After reviewing all of the facts, it appears as though there simply might have been a misunderstanding between Mr. [redacted] and our service people. To summarize, after the repairs to the engine were initially completed, the oil light came on. A diagnostics check determined that the vehicle had bad oil sending unit and a warped valve cover. The oil sending unit has been replaced and the valve cover is being shipped overnight from a dealer in California. The estimated arrival date is Tuesday, July 15th. More importantly, I want to emphasize that we are able to be include oil sending unit and the valve cover in the original estimate of $4,200. Assuming that everything comes together as planned, all of the repairs should be completed to Mr. [redacted]’s vehicle by the end of the day on Tuesday, July 15th.

I would hope that this reply is suitable for your records. If there are any other issues that may need addressed, I can be reached throughout the day at ###-###-####…

Review: I purchased a used 2006 Mini Cooper on 01/10/2014. At that time I was given a 90 day 3000 mile warranty. On 2/15/2014 I started to have starting issues and other electrical issues so I called the dealer who suggested I bring it in to their shop. They subsequently toke it to [redacted] were I was given an estimate well over $4000.00 Day Imports stated it was my problem and that it is not covered. After speaking with[redacted] they said they could get it running for around $900.00. I needed to get back to work so I paid the money, picked up my car and called Day Imports and spoke to [redacted] who stated it was my problem.Desired Settlement: I believe this car had some type of flood damage in order for these wires to get so corroded that it fried the electrical system. I'm willing to keep the car as long as they pay for what they should have fixed before selling the car. total est. is around $5000.00 That's the $800.00 I already paid and the $4200.00 est. from [redacted].

Response:

This reply is in response to the complaint filed with your office by [redacted] against Imports by Day in Monroeville, PA.

Mr. [redacted] purchased a Mini Cooper from Imports on January 10th. Before being offered for sale, this vehicle underwent a thorough and diligent 112-point inspection. During the evaluation, PA inspection and emission stickers were issued; a new headlight washer was installed, as well as 4 new tires and a brand new battery. Additionally, no malfunction codes or warning lights were present during the inspection process. Moreover, the Carfax Report and our own visual inspection did not show any evidence of flood or water damage. At the time of purchase, the vehicle was issued a 3-month/3,000 mile limited warranty. An extended service contract was offered to Mr. [redacted] but he declined all optional coverage.

Nearly 5-weeks from date of purchase, Mr. [redacted] called us to report a starting problem and some electrical concerns. On February 20th, our technician performed a series of diagnostics but he was unable to identify a starting or an electrical issue. We suggested that Mr. [redacted] take his vehicle to an authorized Mini dealer who could better diagnose the problem(s). Upon doing so, Mr. [redacted] stated that [redacted] had found water in the foot well and under the carpeting of his vehicle which caused an electrical issue. The source of water was not determined; however, it was suggested that it could have been a residual effect from the current snow and weather issues we were experiencing.

Unfortunately, the repairs that were needed would not have fallen within the parameters of the 3-month/3,000 mile warranty that came with his vehicle. Truth be told, since the diagnosed electrical problem was apparently the result of dormant water, it’s also fair to assume that the needed repairs might not have been covered by an extended service contract – had Mr. [redacted] chose to purchase one. I do understand his concerns about these unexpected events that occurred with his vehicle; however, more than 30-days have passed between the purchase date and the date that these problems first transpired. But to expect Imports to warrant these issues whenever they weren’t present at the time that we serviced and sold this unit to Mr. [redacted] is somewhat unrealistic.

I would hope that this reply is suitable for your records. If there are any other issues that may need addressed, I can be reached throughout the day at ###-###-####…

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I had contact with this dealer the first week after I bought the Mini, I am awaiting copies of my phone bill to prove that contact was made with the salesperson.

Review: Saturday, May 2, 2015, I took my car to [redacted] to get it reprogrammed, because I had just gotten a new motor put in and it kept stalling after 2,500 RPM. [redacted] told me when I got there, they'd do the reprogramming, the recalls if there were any, and inspect it for free (I would have to pay for emissions). I asked when it would be done and she said it'd be awhile. I told her I had to work late, so my father will pick up the car and pay for the work as soon as she called (same day-Saturday). She never called Saturday and [redacted] was closed Sunday.

I waited until Monday at 9:30 am and called to ask what was going on with my car. I was transferred to [redacted]. [redacted] said the car was running fine and he didn't know why I said it needed reprogrammed. I reminded him of why I originally brought my car to [redacted]; my car started and drove until it got up to 2,500 RPM and stalled. He said, he would have someone else take another look right then and call me back. I waited until 3:30 pm and called [redacted] and they said [redacted] had stepped out that he'd call me right back. I got a call back at 4:15 saying he actually left,. They told me I could pick up my car, but they noticed it was going into limp mode (car lacks driving power). He continued by saying that [redacted] couldn't run a diagnostic until Tuesday, because the mechanic was leaving at 5:00 pm. He also recommended that I get a new battery. I agree to replace the battery. We also discussed my key fob. I told him, my key fob stopped working previous to getting the new motor. He said they'd figure out the problem and let me know Tuesday morning. I agreed to leave it another day.

[redacted] called me at 9:30 am on Tuesday and said my car was going into limp mode because the wiring harness was done wrong. [redacted] told me I could take my car back to where I got the motor done or they could do it. I told him to do it because, according to [redacted] the other guy didn't do it right the first time, so I assumed the previous mechanic didn't know how to do it right. Then, we talked about the battery and key fob issue again. [redacted] said I needed a new fob because the transmitter on my old fob was bad. I agreed to get a new key fob. I asked [redacted] when it would be done. [redacted] said Wednesday (5/6/15) and that he would call as soon as it was done. I waited until 4:50 pm Wednesday and called once again to see what was going on with my car. [redacted] said, "you said you wanted a new key that takes two days." I said, "no, you said I needed one, so I agreed." [redacted] said "yeah, it takes two days it'll be here tomorrow I'll call you." I said okay and got off the phone.

[redacted] called Thursday (5/7/15) at 4:40 pm and said my car was all done. I said okay "I'll come get it as soon as I get off work, was it inspected?" She said she doesn't see that it was, so she would go check and call me right back. She had [redacted] call me back and he said I had to drive it 50 miles for the codes to clear then come back and they'd inspect it. I asked if they'd give me something in case I got pulled over saying that's what was going on; I noticed after I left, All I got was my receipt.

I went home and opened the hood just to make sure there was oil in it and I noticed my motor cover wasn't bolted on like it should be, it was just sitting on top with the hood closed. I was very upset about it but didn't think it was that big of a deal so I just bolted it back on myself. Not only did they not bolt down my motor cover, I discovered that I didn't get my new battery (that they recommended I get and I agreed to), either. More importantly, my car does not run properly. It bogs and loses power. I truly don't believe they fixed my car. I am very upset with their service. I feel that they unnecessarily dragged it out, and I truly believe didn't fix my car or do anything that the receipt says they did. My car drives worse than before. I believe [redacted] let my car sit on their lot, so they can charge me for work that they never did!Desired Settlement: Based on the fact that my car runs worse than when it did before it went to [redacted] and I do not believe they did the work they said they did (many items recommended weren't completed---including a [redacted] recall). Also, I also do not have another week to waste and have no desire to re-install parts myself. I would like a full-refund to take my car to another [redacted] dealership to get my car fixed!

May 15, 2015 Re: [redacted] Dear Ms. [redacted] This reply is in response to the complaint filed with your office by [redacted] against Imports by Day in [redacted]. I just discussed the details of Ms. [redacted]s complaint with [redacted], our Service Director. After reviewing all of the facts, I would agree with some of her allegations but certainly not with all of them. She initially brought her ** to Imports to update the inspection and the emission stickers, to repair any open recalls, and to correct bad wiring from an engine replacement that was performed at another service shop. After we corrected all of the faulty wiring, her vehicle still had a rough idle – which was natural, but we asked Ms. [redacted] to pick-up her vehicle and to drive it for another 50-miles or so. At that point, we would upgrade her inspection and emission stickers and we’d correct the rough idle. Instead, Ms. [redacted] never returned to allow us to complete the repairs. In all fairness to this complaint, both parties know full well that all of the recommendations that Ms. [redacted] gave us were not completed; therefore, I will not authorize a refund for any of the work (including the diagnostics) that we’ve already completed to her [redacted] I will, however, extend to her an offer of 15% off of her total repair bill if/when she decides to return to Imports to complete the unfinished tasks. If this is a possibility, I would ask her to see me, personally, to schedule the work and to ensure that all of the afforded discounts are applied to her final bill. I would hope that this reply is suitable for your records. Review: On Saturday, 8/31/13, the manual transmission on my 2012 [redacted] would not go into or out of gear when the clutch pedal was depressed. I pulled to the side of the road and was able to force the car into gear, pull out in first without the clutch slipping or any problems, but I was unable to go in or out of gear without significant force. I drove the car to a safe location and had it towed to Imports by Day on Monday. The service dept reported that the clutch was completely worn out, it was not covered under warranty, even though my car only had 12,700 miles on it, and to report the issue to VW Customer Care. VW informed me that it was not under warranty, but since the car was low mileage and it appeared to be a part issue they would perform a good will gesture and cover the cost of the parts, but were not able to cover the labor. I then spoke with the service manager about my concerns, and he offered to reduce the labor cost from $850 to $650 I expressed that I did not think this was fair because the car is nearly brand new and this was not a wear issue since the car was not abused and a normal clutch does not wear out under normal use at such low mileage. I asked if he could perform a good will gesture similar to what VW offered. The manager said he could not waive the labor because the only issue they found was the worn out clutch.I researched the problem and found many cases similar to mine and that these symptoms could be caused by problems with the slave cylinder, throw out bearing, or failed springs, and if the clutch had been completely worn out, I would have had slippage when pulling out from a stopped position or even while accelerating. I had not before or during this problem had any slippage, leading me to believe that the clutch was not worn out to the point the service dept claims. I also took pictures of the original clutch and pressure plate and confirmed with multiple sources that the parts were not worn out to failure and there were no significant visible issues with either part.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of $650 for the cost of the labor because I feel this problem was caused by a failure in the vehicles transmission and not by normal wear on the vehicle, which was normal driving for 12,700 miles. I also believe that since the mileage on the vehicle is so low, only 700 miles over qualifying for the lemon law, and VW offered a good will gesture to cover all of the cost of the parts, the dealer should have followed VW's lead and offered to cover all of the cost of the labor.

Response:

This reply is in response to the complaint filed with your office by [redacted] against Imports by Day in Monroeville, PA.

On or about August 31st, Mr. [redacted] had his 2012 VW [redacted] towed to Imports by Day because this vehicle would not shift into gear. Upon further review, it was determined that the clutch was completely worn out, which made shifting his [redacted] into any gear almost impossible. Unfortunately for Mr. [redacted], Volkswagen of America (and all other manufacturers) does not cover the manual clutch under warranty because it is considered a maintenance or wear item. Moreover, the life expectancy of a manual transmission clutch assembly will vary depending on usage and driver habits/tendencies. Nonetheless, Imports by Day did converse with VW in hopes of securing a goodwill adjustment for Mr. [redacted]. VW ultimately did agree to supply the parts, but not the cost of the labor to replace the clutch assembly. As a courtesy to Mr. [redacted], Imports by Day reduced the original labor estimate to install the clutch to $650. This proposed scenario was then fully explained to Mr. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted] did authorize Imports by Day to repair his [redacted].

All repairs made and authorized within the original factory warranty guidelines are the financial responsibility of Volkswagen of America, not the selling or the servicing Dealer. The Dealer cannot manipulate the claims that are authorized by the manufacturer in any way; however, the Dealer can discount parts and/or labor as a courtesy to the customer when the manufacturer does not authorize a complete repair for the customer – and Imports by Day did provide that courtesy to Mr. [redacted]. Volkswagen of America’s final determination did allow for a goodwill part replacement, but they insisted that the owner of the vehicle (Mr. [redacted]) should participate in the repair by paying for the installation of the clutch assembly.

Imports by Day has never had to extend “implied” warranty coverage to any part on any vehicle that the manufacturer did not cover, and we do not wish to set a precedent in this case. It should also be noted, however, that Imports by Day did allow Mr. [redacted] to drive a loaner vehicle for several weeks as Mr. [redacted] waited for Volkswagen of America to make its determination. For the record, loaner cars are not provided by the manufacturer. They are provided by the Dealer, and the cost of this service was NOT extended to Mr. [redacted]; therefore, Imports by Day is not interested in making further adjustments to the cost of repair.

I would hope that this reply is suitable for your records. If there are any other issues that may need addressed, I can be reached throughout the day at ###-###-####…

Review: I took my car in to Day Audi on January 30, 2014 to have a heating coil installed. After a week went by I called to check the status. I was told that the part would be in by February 5, 2014. So the days went on no call about the car yet. So my wife [redacted] called to talk to [redacted]. He preceded to tell her that they didn't think it was the heating coil. That they thought it maybe a valve wanted to play around with it a few more days to make sure it didn't need a valve. Then another week went passed still no call about my car. So talked to [redacted] again said I needed couple other things done to car left head light bulb needed replaced the price would be around 350.00 for a bulb plus around 92.00 for some other bulb. The vacuum hose need fixed. Brakes and rotors needed done and maintenance to check any fluids and some other stuff. Car needed tires he was told not to do them by wife. Would get tires from a less expensive place. Weather strip was falling off that was between 600.00 to 750.00 to be repaired told him not to fix. So he went and did stuff on the car he was not supposed to do. After calling 2 supervisors to see why my car still was not finished. So all this time I have a rental from Enterprise waiting for call to get fixed. I got the rental people calling threatening for a payment or they are going to report car stolen if a payment was not paid by 5 on Jan 19, 2014. He said he took care of that would help out with the cost of rental. [redacted] said car should be ready by Thursday. Called Thursday car was not ready they said they had to order two parts and would be ready Friday. Called to speak to a manager of service department to see if car was ready. Told him the concerns needed a price said he would call back with a price and never did. Feb 24,2014 price is 2838.36 not happy did work that I never approved. I had to pay 374.00 plus insurance on my car also while my car was in shop all this time. When my car should've been done weeks ago. They paid around 400 for some of the rental cost. I never gave them approval to talk to anyone about working on car.

On January 30th, Mr. [redacted] dropped off his Audi A6 at Imports by Day with a concern that the heater was not working. Our technician discovered that the heater core was OK; however, he recommended changing a valve and some other related items that would fix the problem and save Mr. [redacted] considerable money. Our Service Advisor then played “phone tag” with Mr. [redacted] for several days trying to secure his approval for the suggested repairs. Furthermore, our Advisor spoke to 3 different parties via the phone number that Mr. [redacted] provided to us before we actually spoke directly with Mr. [redacted] – which only added confusion and delay in securing Mr. Anderson’s approval for the repairs.

As a courtesy to Mr. Anderson, we agreed to discount the parts and the labor to an amenable price. Once the price was finalized, Mr. [redacted] approved the repair and we completed the estimate. At the time of pick-up, the repair order was reviewed in great detail with Mr. [redacted] and he paid his portion of the final bill. As a point of reference, he picked-up his Audi on February 24th and, as of yesterday, Mr. [redacted] remained satisfied with the repairs and the discount that we applied to his bill.

I would hope that this reply is suitable for your records. If there are any other issues that may need addressed, I can be reached throughout the day at ###-###-####…

Sincerely,

General Manager
