In BeTween Boutique Reviews (%countItem)

I made a purchase on the website and the order was handled poorly and I received bad customer service from the store. I posted a review on the business's facebook page that the customer service was bad, because it was. The store owner then replied with a screen shot of my order, the amount I paid, the method of payment and my email address. I asked her nicely three times to remove my private information and that as a business owner she is legally not allowed to share customer's private information publicly. The owner not only refused but she went on about how she doesn't have to remove it because I posted a review - so she has every right to make my private information public. She then stated that I, as a customer, don't matter to her - which validated my review.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I want my private information removed from her public page and I want action taken against the store for sharing my private information.

First off, I cant believe I'm having to take time away from my business at Christmas to deal with this nonsense. The customer bought an item we sold out of. We emailed the refund SAME DAY as order. She asked if we could get more of the item, she didn't mind waiting, we couldn't. These things happen, ppl sell out. We shipped her remaining items. Apparently this all has to do with she doesn't like the way I replied in my email. We answered direct and to the point, with all info she needed. Then next thing I know she is making a bad review on our FACEBOOK PAGE(Facebook is public). Yes, I replied back asking the issue. With which she has yet to give me a direct answer. All I can assume is the email, the way I answered wasn't to her liking?? I thought she said she hadn't received her refund so I proceeded to post the info where the refund came through. No card info or personal info you cant get by searching her name on google!! It was her name and an email address. And lets just say she is my one bad review out of 100!! Facebook is how a lot of my customers shop so they are posting emails all day long there. It is a shopping group and page. No one thinks anything about it except this lady. She had a cow and asked I take her email down which I KINDLY did! I then blurred out her email and posted the same reply so anyone else who sees the review can see my response. I go to bed. I wake up next morning to her going at it again about this email. somehow Facebook had posted the one with the email showing again, I have no clue how I'm not a Facebook analyst. I removed it again bc I don't have time to deal with crazy! She starts then about how she is taking action against me and suing? I told her if she wants to waste her time and money over an email then she can. I have never in my life heard anyone going this crazy over an email! Like I said we have 100s of emails posted there a day. I never said I wouldn't remove her email. I did each time(TWICE) she asked. I said if she didn't want to discuss this publicly then dont make a review on a public page. I have every right to answer back and figure out the issue at hand. She is the one who posted her name on a public site. At that point anyone could find out anything about her. I did a quick search of her name and have her emails, phone number and address! Just as anyone who searches my name can find all my info. I never said as a customer she doesn't matter to me. I have no clue where she got that from. But NO we dont want her as a customer. We have the best customers and sadly this is what happens when the bad ones find you. They try to ruin your reputation bc they dont like something so tiny. This is so silly!

Customer Response • Dec 11, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
As a business, it is against federal law to make public the private information of customers - and this includes email addresses. It does NOT matter what someone can find on Google, or anywhere else. It does not matter that other customers share their information. It is against the law for a business owner to do this, plain and simple. My information was removed the first time, however it was not removed the second time. It stayed up there for days until Facebook themselves actually removed it because it violates their terms. I have screen shots to prove this with time stamps, and they have been submitted. The business owner assumed that I had an issue with the refund - which I didn't - and even after I told her four times that the refund wasn't a big deal to me, she posted my info. At that point there wasn't even a reason for her to post it if she was posting it because she was showing me the refund. I stand by my review of bad customer service, because that is what I received. I did not set out to "ruin the reputation" of the business, but when my private information was made public and the owner told me that she has every right to do so, I absolutely will pursue this. No business owner has the right to violate their customer's privacy and the fact that the business owner doesn't care that she broke the law is just another example of bad customer service.
