We received your complaint I am the owner of the store and my staff member and I clearly have a different view point and recollection of the incidentIf you were in Pittsburgh on Sunday, you could have easily returned the crystal crafter for another one It would have been no problem Why this was not done I do not know.My staff also does not judge nor characterize my customers I have been in business for years and I am sorry you had a less than desirable experience Our policy is very clear and my staff member said you wanted to mail the piece back, but if you were here, like you said in the letter, you could have returned it.We do not sell used merchandise.If you send me your credit card I will be happy to credit your card.We have been merchants for a long time and we have thousands of happy customers.Things happen once in a blue moon, but certainly given the right circumstances to make things right, we would have.You can keep the crystal crafter, and please use it as it is a great tool, regardless if it appears used,it will do the job it is intended to do.We have no affiliation with the Revdex.com.Thanks

Review: I recently visited Pittsburgh to see the changing leaves and had a wonderful trip with one exception. On Saturday, October 10, I went to downtown to the “Strip District” and made a cash purchase of two items for a total of $40.01 (receipt ticket # 2-3679) at the “In The Kitchen” housewares store located at [redacted]. When I returned to the Sheraton hotel near the Pittsburgh airport later that night, I realized the Crystal Crafter ($19.99 + tax) merchandise was previously used and repackaged. As a result, I sent an online note Saturday evening to www.shopinthekitchen.com to inform the store that since I was traveling, could we have an even exchange by mail when I returned home to Virginia. To date, I have not received a written response to my inquiry.

After sending the inquiry note, I noticed the website indicated that the store was open on Sunday. The next day, I called the store and restated the problem regarding my used product purchase and again requested an even exchange. The clerk spoke with the owner and when the clerk returned to the phone, I was informed that an even exchange would not be made; and furthermore, no return either. The comeback was that perhaps I was trying to pass off a product that was used. Really???? I was stunned to say the least. Who in their right mind would travel to Pittsburgh; spend a ton of money at the hotel, restaurants, the cinema, sightseeing, and malls for holiday shopping, with the advanced thought to bring a used kitchen gadget from home to rip off a merchant? Unbelievable!! At the bottom of the receipt, the return policy indicates 30 days with receipt…no receipt, no return. This gadget was not on sale nor seasonal. All I wanted was an even exchange, and that was not going to happen even if I returned to the store on Sunday. In spite of very poor customer service, I would not have done anything differently because I believe in ethical behavior, regardless if you are a consumer or businessperson.

Will the Revdex.com intervene on my behalf? At this point, I wish for a refund of the purchase price plus tax to set matters right.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if you need a copy of the receipt. I appreciate your consideration and thanks in advance for your assistance.Desired Settlement: Since the owner refused to an exchange and I am now back home, I would like a refund.
