We have worked with *** *** since the beginning in September and were not simply hired to make a new website for herWe created her original website *** and serviced it for over a year with no complaints. There was no mention of any “life threatening
stalker” that we were ever made aware ofIn late *** expressed a concern due to a scam report against her and her company voiced on “*** ***” filed July **, that was showing up in *** when you search her name “*** ***”: ***
I expressed to her that it is just an unfortunate part of the digital age that we live in and not to worry about it too muchI suggested she speak with her legal council to potentially have it removed as well as contacting the *** *** Website directly to see how you address it through their systemThe only option we had available through our services to help was an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) campaign which would promote her content and social media to push the report down the *** ranking.*** agreed to start the SEO campaign to attempt to bury the report and on December *** we charged her $for one month of SEO service. Before we started the SEO campaign, *** decided she would instead change the name of her company to *** *** *** and asked us that we remove her current siteI let her know that a website removal was the same cost as the monthly SEO so if she wanted we could apply what she already paid toward the removal serviceShe agreed.*** requested that we set up the new website, and a private members site which we didShe approved the design and login information was sent to her. After we set up the new site she asked if we could keep the information from the old site and change the names of herself and her company so she wouldn’t have to rewrite itI told her yes we could transfer the information over but if she needed us to update the content or re-upload it from word documents there would be fees involvedShe agreed to update the content herself and asked us to transfer the information over to the new site which we did free of charge. After the content was transferred *** left the content unchanged for some timeShe then contacted us soon after and expressed that because of the transition with her business, she had not had the time to update the site as quickly as she thoughtShe then asked if we would update the content for her free which I told her we could not. She then asked if there was a way to “hide” the pages and content until she got a chance to do the updateI explained to her that only option we had was to make the pages “private” which is a Wordpress setting - *** - She agreed and they were made them private.Soon after she called because she saw one of her website posts had been picked up by ***I explained to her due to the length of time the pages were public that search engines could pick them up, but not to worry and that the *** links would update in time*** said she didn’t want to wait that long and wanted the site taken down.Because I sympathized with her situation, I offered her, for being such a loyal client, we would be willing to wave the fees for the “new website installation” and suggested that we not transfer any previous content overThis was not a credit from the company for the previous work doneThis was a personal favor that I was making for future work that she would needWe also removed both websites for her at no additional charge ($value)*** was very thankful at the time and I asked her to contact me when she settled in so we could move forward on her next site.On Aug *** I was contacted by *** through her new *** *** *by phone where she made demands for an itemized list of everything we had ever done for her in regards to the website developmentWe obliged and a full invoice list was sent to *** on Aug ***, 2015.Our company holds customer satisfaction in the highest regardWe have made it clear in our final communications with the *** (*** ***) that there is no credit or refund available for the work that was completedSecondly, because our offer to create new installations free of charge were denied multiple times by her, that offer is no longer availableWe do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused

I explained in my initial response that we did what *** requestedBecause *** failed to provide us any additional information about her situation we could not advise her in doing anything different then what she asked us to do at the timeI am sorry for any inconvenience but as I mentioned before there is no credit or refund available for the work that was completed

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
This is falseI gave Eric some information regarding the situation I was inI gave him enough to make it clear that privacy and security are the primary goal now, as a result of these threats. The crazy person who attacked me, sent me over emails, many of which contain very terrifying messages, including death threatsThe court who reviewed all the documents and evidence, not only granted a name change but also granted the sealing of records (which means I did not have to publish the name change) exactly because they felt that this crazy person was a serious enough threatThe state does not allow that kind of thing just for the askingThey allowed it because they saw a real threat.Eric is a web developer, not an attorney, so it was not his job to review any of the supporting documentsBut I told him enough to make it clear the kind of situation I was in. I think an issue is that Eric has never had to deal with this sort of issueAnd he was not aware of the ways it needed to be handled in the web development area.He was not ready to work on a project that required a lot more awareness of security and privacy issues onlineHe thought he did, but experience showed otherwise.
Sincerely,

This is false. I gave Eric some information regarding the situation I was in. I gave him enough to make it clear that privacy and security are the primary goal now, as a result of these threats. The crazy person who attacked me, sent me over 50 emails, many of which contain very terrifying messages, including death threats. The court who reviewed all the documents and evidence, not only granted a name change but also granted the sealing of records (which means I did not have to publish the name change) exactly because they felt that this crazy person was a serious enough threat. The state does not allow that kind of thing just for the asking. They allowed it because they saw a real threat.Eric is a web developer, not an attorney, so it was not his job to review any of the supporting documents. But I told him enough to make it clear the kind of situation I was in. I think an issue is that Eric has never had to deal with this sort of issue. We have worked with [redacted] since the beginning in September 2013 and were not simply hired to make a new website for her. We created her original website [redacted] and serviced it for over a year with no complaints. There was no mention of any “life...

threatening stalker” that we were ever made aware of. In late 2014 [redacted] expressed a concern due to a scam report against her and her company voiced on “[redacted]” filed July **, 2014 that was showing up in [redacted] when you search her name “[redacted]”: [redacted]
I expressed to her that it is just an unfortunate part of the digital age that we live in and not to worry about it too much. This was not a credit from the company for the previous work done. This was a personal favor that I was making for future work that she would need. We also removed both websites for her at no additional charge ($500 value).
