following outlines our findings regarding his claims

complaint was filed against Independence Energy Group LLC. Independence Energy is a subsidiary of Energy
Plus Holdings. All existing Independence
Energy customers were transferred to *** *** as of December of 2013. There are no outbound solicitations or marketing
campaigns underway by Independence Energy at this time.
Energy
Plus has no record of any phone calls made to the phone number listed on *** ***’s complaint from *** ***, nor from any vendors with whom we work. Furthermore, *** *** does not have record
of any information matching that which *** *** provided in the
complaint. Although we found no evidence
to suggest that we ever attempted to contact *** ***, we have placed his
information into our Do Not Solicit database.

Review: I called and canceled my service on January 7, 2014 after finding that my electric bill was more than double what it would have been with [redacted]. I signed up with Independence after being told that I would save money. What very LITTLE I may have saved at the very beginning was nothing compared to the INCREASE of my electric. For months our bill has been more than double the electric which in no way comes close to equaling out the money we so called saved with them. I was told that my next bill would still be high but it should even out in. I just got my Feb bill and it wasn't canceled until Feb. 15 or 17, 2014. I called [redacted] and they said Independence chose to give a cancel date of Feb 15 or 17. I called Independence and they said [redacted] chose to cancel on Feb 15 or 17. I called each company 3 times and each time Independence gave my a different explanation. According to [redacted], Independence gave the cancel date of February, not [redacted]. The third time I called Independence the rep was extremely rude. I was also told that even though I signed up in Oct. 2012 contract went into effect Dec. 2012, I canceled on Jan 7, it was just short of getting the rewards check but after talking to a supervisor they would honor this. I believe I am owed a refund for canceling. My read date was Jan 17, 2014 10 days after I canceled. [redacted] said it should have been in effect but Independence chose to end it on Feb, 15 or 17.Desired Settlement: I want a refund for canceling. They shouldn't be able to choose when an account is canceled. I canceled in a reasonable amount of time after talking to both companies. They OWE me a refund along with the rewards check.

Review: We keep receiving sales calls and as soon as we say we are not interested they hang up abruptly and call back the next day. They are very rude and will not stop calling.Desired Settlement: To be removed from their phone list.

Review: A sales person came to my home over a year ago from Independence Energy to discuss their services. I explained that I was not interested and apparently they moved froward without my consent. I didn't realize this until today when I received a refund check for $15 and I questioned why the letter referred to me as a valued customer, and 2. why they were giving me back money when I have no known business with them.

Since the first visit from this company, they returned to my home again and my then boyfriend (who could not consent) now husband also said "NO". They also called me and I explained I wanted no further contact from them and was not interested, they stated they would note their system. Looking back at an old [redacted] electric bill I see now they have all along been collecting roughly 28-30 dollars from me every month WITHOUT ME EVER CONSENTING!!Desired Settlement: 1. I want to be immediately removed from any connection with this company.

2. I want proof of my consent.

3. I want a refund of the charges they have been charging me since 2012.

To Whom It May Concern,We received notification of above referenced Case # [redacted] via mail on November 5, 2013. Upon receiving the complaint, Independence Energy researched **. [redacted]’s complaint regarding the enrollment of her electricity account with Independence Energy. I have set out the details of the complaint and resolution below. Independence Energy determined that **. [redacted]’s account was switched over the phone by an Independence Energy sales agent. Independence Energy reviewed the third party verification call that was completed during the enrollment and because we were unable to determine that it was in fact **. [redacted], we have issued her a full credit for the life of her account back to [redacted]’s respective price to compare. Independence Energy stopped enrolling new customers in 2012 and considers this an isolated issue. Independence Energy spoke to **. [redacted] on October 9th, apologizing for her experience. **. [redacted] and Independence Energy consider this matter resolved. Sincerely, Independence Energy
