Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowThis does not resolve anything because I have stated to the Midas [redacted] I needed my brakes to be fixed now as they are unsafe, with the installation process Midas has taken to install my brake lines, at no time was I ever told that they did not have the tools or knowledge to fix my vehiclethe only phone call was that they found rust and were going to replace more of the lineI went even as far as to ask why the OEM parts were not ordered and installedthe cost of the original OEM parts was only $and not to replace all of these parts it is going to cost me more to replace the hack job they have done to my brake lines leaving my vehicle more unsafe They even installed DOT Brake Fluid also when my car calls for DOT brake fluid: As already stated, DOThandles higher heatIf your car is calling for DOT4, that means that the manufacturer does not feel comfortable that the braking system will not raise the brake fluid above a temperature that DOTcan handle. With the fact of the installation process done by Midas Located on [redacted] in Green Bay Wisconsin and the statements made from the [redacted] that he didn't even think about or even consider ordering these parts is unacceptable when if done right it could have costs the same but everything was a retrofit to installation If I was to get in an accident because of brake failure this would be a serious concern to me as I have two children and a wife who are always with me, also with the fact I am always traveling for business across the stateWith that being said I am rejecting this letter received because they have not only put my life at risk, but my children's and my wife's at risk of injuryWith the statements made from the [redacted] I have documented I am and will be working with my attorney to address these issues as I have included him in on this email as well as consumer protectionIt is clear the [redacted] did not take the correct steps of notifying me they would not be able to do the work, he even went as far as to say he will just be more careful on how he talks about the BMWS going forwardI would have not known the workmanship is I did not remove my clip from my vehicle and leave it off so I was able to inspect itthen for the [redacted] of Midas to tell me I may need to go to BMW only after he handed my keys is showing that he did not at any time have the knowledge to work on my vehicle, but was worried about taking a dollar [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] Regards, Travis [redacted]

We sincerely regret that we were unable to meet Mr [redacted] 's expectations in repairing his vehicle For this reason he was given a complete 100% refund on June 19,

Please note attached photo Photo shows tire with uneven wear and exposed cords and steel belts Also clearly visible is the chalky white appearance of the rest of this vehicle ROAD SALT This "salt patina" cover all of the underside of the car All parts look the same Old parts, new parts, middle age parts Will tire wear patterns like this cause a pull or vibration? YES Are they unsafe? YES Those are the facts.Upon initial alignment check the front toe settings were off degrees This is a LARGE and SIGNIFICANT amount alignment adjustments are in the fraction of a degree For this reason and before we proceeded with any work the customer who was waiting - Mrs Swain (not the individual complaining) was SPECIFICALLY asked if she had had any steering or suspension components replaced? The customer was ADAMANT that she had NO work done on the steering or suspension of the vehicle (Two witnesses collaborated this.) Again I revert back to the photo--everything looks the same Based on the visual inspection, age and mileage of the vehicle, and information provided DIRECTLY FROM THE CUSTOMER PRESENT replacement struts were recommended along with at least two tires An alignment would NOT resolve vibration or pull caused by bad tires The customer declined all other work and requested that just the alignment be done The alignment was completed The RF camber setting was still out of specification There is NO factory adjustment built into this vehicle for that setting It requires additional parts and labor Toe and caster setting were in specification when the vehicle left the shop This was communicated directly to the customer present. At no point in time were we untruthful with this consumer At no point in time did we state or suggest to the customer that their struts were a safety issue Their tires YES those were a safety issue The consumer has already been credited $via their charge account ending in ***

[redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This does not resolve anything because I have stated to the Midas [redacted] I needed my brakes to be fixed now as they are unsafe, with the installation process Midas has taken to install my brake lines, at no time was I ever told that they did not have the tools or knowledge to fix my vehicle. the only phone call was that they found rust and were going to replace more of the line. I went even as far as to ask why the OEM parts were not ordered and installed. the cost of the original OEM parts was only $256.00 and not to replace all of these parts it is going to cost me more to replace the hack job they have done to my brake lines leaving my vehicle  more unsafe.     They even installed DOT 3 Brake Fluid also when my car calls for DOT 4 brake fluid: As already stated, DOT4 handles higher heat. If your car is calling for DOT4, that means that the manufacturer does not feel comfortable that the braking system will not raise the brake fluid above a temperature that DOT3 can handle. With the fact of the installation process done by Midas Located on [redacted] in Green Bay Wisconsin and the statements made from the [redacted] that  he didn't even think about or even consider ordering these parts is unacceptable when if done right it could have costs the same but everything was a retrofit to installation.      If I was to get in an accident because of brake failure this would be a serious concern to me as I have two children and a wife who are always with me, also with the fact I am always traveling for business across the state. With that being said I am rejecting this letter received  because they have not only put my life at risk, but my children's and my wife's at risk of injury. With the statements made from the [redacted] I have documented I am and will be working with my attorney to address these issues as I have included him in on this email as well as consumer protection. It is clear the [redacted] did not take the correct steps of notifying me they would not be able to do the work, he even went as far as to say he will just be more careful on how he talks about the BMWS going forward. I would have not known the workmanship is I did not remove my clip from my vehicle and  leave it off so I was able to inspect it. then for the [redacted] of Midas to tell me I may need to go to BMW only after he handed my keys is showing that he did not at any time  have the knowledge to work on my vehicle, but was worried about taking a dollar.

We sincerely regret that we were unable to meet Mr. [redacted]'s expectations in repairing his vehicle.   For this reason he was given a complete 100% refund on June 19, 2017.

Please note attached photo.   Photo shows tire with uneven wear and exposed cords and steel belts.  Also clearly visible is the chalky white appearance of the rest of this vehicle.  ROAD SALT.   This "salt patina" cover all of the underside of the car.  All parts look the...

same.  Old parts, new parts, middle age parts.  Will tire wear patterns like this cause a pull or vibration?  YES   Are they unsafe?  YES   Those are the facts.Upon initial alignment check the front toe settings were off 1.78 degrees.  This is a LARGE and SIGNIFICANT amount.  Normal alignment adjustments are in the fraction of a degree.  For this reason and before we proceeded with any work the customer who was waiting - Mrs Swain (not the individual complaining)  was SPECIFICALLY asked if she had had any steering or suspension components replaced?   The customer was ADAMANT that she had NO work done on the steering or suspension of the vehicle.  (Two witnesses collaborated this.)  Again I revert back to the photo--everything looks the same.   Based on the visual inspection, age and mileage of the vehicle, and information provided DIRECTLY FROM THE CUSTOMER PRESENT replacement struts were recommended along with at least two tires.  An alignment would NOT resolve vibration or pull caused by bad tires.  The customer declined all other work and requested that just the alignment be done.  The alignment was completed.  The RF camber setting was still out of specification.  There is NO factory adjustment built into this vehicle for that setting.  It requires additional parts and labor.  Toe and caster setting were in specification when the vehicle left the shop.  This was communicated directly to the customer present. At no point in time were we untruthful with this consumer.  At no point in time did we state or suggest to the customer that their struts were a safety issue.  Their tires YES those were a safety issue.  The consumer has already been credited $71.65 via their charge account ending in [redacted].

We disagree with the response. Most disingenuously, there was no mention of the broken diagnostic equipment in the response.
For the record, the merchant did not offer to refund our money. Our money was refunded because we filled a legitimate complaint with our credit card company, they sided with us and forced the refund.
