The customer came in on a Sunday to take their vehicle which was in the process of having the final diagnostic doneI knew they took the vehicleThey did so without leaving any information or message The money they paid went to the diagnostic fee and was a non refundable deposit to prevent
arbitrary cancellation of agreed repairs After time and resources were spent obtaining repair parts which are non refundableThat's where the deposit they left went and will stayIt was their choice to take their vehicle not mineI told them it would be done the following business day which was Monday yet they picked it up before that time arbitrarilyNot sure what is expected ? If I have a singed invoicethe same as the invoice I had to sign for the parts purchased to repair this van

1st matter of business; the client was given ample time to inspect the unit in full before making a decision of whether to buy or no not. I also told him it's an incomplete unit that normally sells for about $2595 but since its incomplete I'm selling it as a partially rebuilt core that definitely...

needs some attention. Her agreed based on this and his personal inspection. Make a long storyshort...I found a good rebuilt valve body that will cost me $950 out of pocket. If he'll cover $250 of that at time off delivery I'll how pick it up and deliver it this afternoon.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I attempted to use Independent Transmissions warranty and was denied. I will not tolerate any such behavior nor the rude actions and unprofessional manner of [redacted]. Not my problem, the problem is yours to rectify. The damages are due to be paid to [redacted] in full to cover my out of pocket expense due to your shops poor workmanship and dishonoring your warranty. $2100.00 is the amount due.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Well, the customer very clearly signed a legally binding contract which not only obligates us (the S-corporation)to being legally responsible to fix any defective parts, labor, or fluid, but also OBLIGATES you the consumer to always bring the vehicle back to the original warrantor  (not to some other shop then expect us to pay for them to do what ever work they deem necessary) as a matter of fact that actually renders your warranty null and void.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: considering the the issues I had with this company the first time around there was no way I was going back to them. It took the over 28 business days to fix my first problem. They had it for weeks saying there was no problem at all until I drove down there and showed them the problem. Then they went on to insult my mechanic by calling him an it. There was no way I was trusting them to touch my car again. A warranty should be for defective parts, not defective mechanics. I understand that sometimes mistakes are made but if a mechanic fails to put SIX bolts in, that is no longer a mistake that is shear lazy work and I don't trust this mechanic to change my windshield wiper fluid. I will not bring my car back for a transmission flush or anything else. I would like the $120 not for warranty issues but for incompetence. If they are unwilling then I want it on their record what a horrid shop this is so that other people can be warned.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:[redacted] wrote on the receipt that he will supply and deliver the valve body and I doesn't say for anything extra so he needs to do what he said he would on the receipt because he didn't say for an extra charge I have attached a picture of the receipt he wrote me.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

This is the first I recall hearing of any sort of warranty issue regarding this customer or their vehicle.  We have always honored are warranties for the past nearly eighteen years in business in Lakewood Colorado. The resolution to this problem is by simply calling, making an appointment, then...

getting the vehicle safely to us we can assess the situation and if there is any defects and are parts of workmanship the issue will be taken care of at no charge to the customer. I do apologize if you had a poor experience with the former manager of independent Transmissions of Colorado Inc. If  it's any consolation, he no longer works for our company. Feel free to call me (mark the owner on my cell ###-###-####) anytime Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5 o'clock p.m. and I will set up an appointment for you to bring it in and we will check out what is wrong with it as well as fix any defects in our parts or workmanship from when the work was done in 2015.We do sincerely hope to be given the opportunity to honor the warranty agreement  both independent Transmissions and you signed. For your benefit this warranty does obligate us (the warrantor) as well as you (the customer) to abide at within the terms written in said warranty. Please refer to paragraph B:"Paragraph B; how to obtain service, instructions. Always take the car back to the original warrantor shop. This must be done at your own expense! The warranty shop is not responsible for towing, shipping, or any other expense that may be incurred in transporting the vehicle to the warranty shop."

The written and signed warranty clearly states "HOW TO OBTAIN SERVICE: instructions; Always take the car back to the original wwarrantor shop! This must be done at your own expense. The warrantor shop is not responsible for towing, shipping or any of subsequent costs [related to] transporting the...

vehicle to the warrantor shop."   As much as we would want never to have any problems arise from a defect in our parts or workmanship, the hard reality is that sometimes even the best techs make mistakes. Otherwise, if we were completely flawless in the execution of each and every job we do here there'd be no need for a limited liability warranty on the repairs made just in case there's a defect or error in the parts we supply or labor we complete.  Had the car been brought back to the original wwarrantor shop we would have fixed the above named (alleged and/or suspected)  defects in our parts or labor absolutely free of charge as we do with all legitimate warranty claims. At this time we do apologize for any inconvenience you've suffered and can offer a free trans service on the car of your choosing up to $119.99 + taxes and fluids (which covers most makes and models). We hope this will resolve this complaint satisfactory as a way of compromise.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/05/18) */
The customer ran the transmission low on fluid when the warranty and invoice both very clearly state that "it is the customers responsibility to be aware of leaks and get them taken care of before a melt down occurs."
If the vehicle had left...

for 20 months there's no way that the unit would have lasted that long without serious damage. It would only take a very short time for that damage to occur so we can only base our decision on the facts not what if?
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/05/23) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
There were no leaks and [redacted] was very rude and told me "It was not his responsibility to teach me how to maintain my car". My transmission never leaked and his customer service skills are terrible. I ended up buying a new car but I still feel that he offered no help and made me feel really stupid by the way he spoke with me. You can talk to any mechanic and they will tell you that the transmission fluid will not be low unless there was a leak and or not properly filled. So no I am not happy with this response. There are no "what ifs" there is just bad business. I can show you pictures of my parking spot and service records that show no problems with my transmission.
Final Business Response /* (1000, 22, 2015/10/02) */
In final response to the last repeat complaint. For the final time I'm going to once again repeat the same info.
Our Units are usually covered by a 24 month or 24,000 mile warranty on any defective parts or labor furnished by independent transmissions of Co Inc. This limited liability warranty ceases to offer free repairs when the driver of the vehicle fails to operate the repaired transmission with it full of fluid.
The primary reason why we cannot accept that (as the owner of this vehicle so confidently states) perhaps our technician somehow simply forgot to put ATF(auto Trans Fluid) back into the trans after performing a R&R ( Remove & Replace) and overhaul is due to the simple fact that the vehicle could have never pulled out of shop had it not been filled with ATF.
Furthermore, even if by some strange or unusual stroke of the imagination the trans wasn't filled but instead had been filled until it was 2.5 qts low of ATF then given to the customer still 2.5 qts low of ATF there is no way it Could have gone nearly 20,000 miles being that low on ATF. It would not have made it even close to a fraction of that amount before developing internal failure due to being low on fluid.
We are sincerely sorry for this unfortunate situation but there's nothing we can do since it was not damaged due to a defect in our parts or workmanship.
