Independent Transport

Review: Independent Transport was to ship my car from FL to NY. We were leaving FL on 5/*/13. On 4/**/13 I called Independent Transport to find out when my car would be picked up for shipment to NY. I spoke to the owner's daughtter who told me the owner was not available to speak to me, I asked that she relay my message of when my car would be picked up. I called everyday that week to no avail. On Friday May *, 2013 I did not know whether I would hear from Independent Transport ever again. I managed to find another company to ship my car to NY. On the evening of Sunday May *, 2013 I received a call from the owner a woman named [redacted] who appologized to me and explained she was in the hospital all week with health issues. I explained to her that she left me no other choice under the circumstance and I retained the service of another company. She was happy or so she said that I was able to get another shipper to ship my car and that she would return my deposit of $100.00 in a few weeks after she gets back to her self. Two weeks subsequent to that I called and she said she would take care of it shortly. I called a few times after that and got the same story. Last week I called and she told me she would not be sending me my deposit back. I would like to make you aware of this company's shady practice and get my $100.00 deposit returned to me as they did not perform the service they were supoosed to.

As per our conversation on 7/** I am enclosing a copy of the Bill of Lading he signed and he knew that the deposit was not refundable.

I had at one point stated I would refund deposit but because he was being such a nuisance I subsequently changed my mind. He also know that the deposit was not refunable due to the fact it states that on paperwork he had signed. Hopefully the enclosed will help you see the otherside of the complaint.

We were having a lot of health issues at that time and he was being so opnoxious with phone calls that I am refuse to have the office give him back his deposit.

Also he tried to talk some other people into using someone else to transport their vehicle with the people he used.

Please be receptive to my side of the story and also he has no reason to call my service a shady operation especially since I have personally picked up + delivered their vehicle in the past many times.

We have always been kind + courteous to these people but they are just too pushy.

I have read the response from [redacted] of Independent Transport. Allow me to set the record straight. On May *, 2013 my wife and I were to return to NY. on Mon. April **, 2013 I called Independent Transport to get an indication of when they were to pick up my car for transport to NY. I reach a young lady who told me she was [redacted]'s daughter and [redacted] was not available to talk to me, but she would give her my message. I called every day that week and left messages but nobody called me back. On Friday May [redacted] I was lucky to get a shipping company to transport my car to New York.

On Sunday evening May *, 2013 I received a call from [redacted] of Independent Transport. She told me she was in the hospital with high blood pressure. I told her since I did not get any response from anyone in her company I retained another shipper. She apologized and told me she was glad I was able to get another shipper on such short notice. She told me that in a few weeks, when she gets back to herself she would return my deposit. I waited and after a few weeks I called her and her attitude changed completely. She told me that she was not going to refund my deposit because I told customers that she was out of business. That is a complete lie, I don't know her customers and it was not my business whether she was in business or not. According to her attitude she really does not belong in business.
