Review: ARTHUR COX, THE OWNER OF THIS BUSINESS LIED TO ME ON MANY OCCASIONS REGARDING MY SEA WALL. MY INSURANCE COMPANY SAYS HE DID NO USE ANY GEO GRID WHICH THE MANUFACTURER REQUIRED. MY NEW CONTACTOR WILL TESTIFY THAT ARTHUR COX USED NO GEO GRID WHICH WAS REQUIRED. ARTHUR COX REFUSED TO FIX A WALL THAT HE BUILT. HE ALSO REFUSED TO PUT THIS CLAIM THROUGH HIS INSURANCE WHICH HE SAID HE WOULD DO IF MY INSURANCE REFUSED THIS CLAIM.(AND THEY DID) MY INSURANCE COMPANY STATED THAT HIS WORK WAS NOT DONE ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER'S SPECS. THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS NO GEO GRID AND THAT HE WAS TO BLAIM FOR THE WALL FAILING. I LOST 33FT OF MY SEA WALL AND HAVE VERY LITTLE COMFORT IN KNOWING THAT ANY OF IT WAS DONE CORRECTLY.Desired Settlement: I SPENT $3,750.00 WITH ANOTHER LICENSED AND INSURED BUILDER WHO WILL TESTIFY ON MY BEHALF AND WHO FIXED THE PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE NO OTHER PERSON TO BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AS I FEEL THAT I HAVE BEEN BY ARTHUR COX, INDIAN CREEK HERDSCAPING. ARTHUR COX NEEDS TO REIMBURSE ME. I WILL BE AFTER HIM, ACCOODING TO THE MY RIGHTS IN THE STATE OF VIRGINIA. I HOPE I HAVE SOME.

ICH was contacted by a recurrent client after the December 2013 flooding of Claytor Lake and was informed that a sea wall had collapsed into the lake. Water levels were at a record height six to seven feet above lake level during the flooding. ICH/Arthur Cox made repeated visits to the lake front property, at no charge, and met with engineers on site to assess the damaged sea wall; while on site ICH was asked by client to provide a proposal for additional installation services. Upon conclusion of meetings ICH provided two separate proposals to client in March 2013; one for repairs to sea wall and the other for construction of a new segmental wall at house area. Arthur Cox stated to repair the sea wall properly lake levels would have to be down to access bottom of wall at footer level. For water level to be low enough to repair the sea wall ICH would have to sand bag the water from the wall, with additional charges for hand labor and materials, or wait until the fall drawdown of Claytor Lake. A complaint was filed with the Revdex.com in August 2013 that there had been improper installation of the sea wall allegedly not to specs and that there were false communications from ICH to complainant. This is the first contact from complainant since proposals for services were sent in March 2013; proper procedures were taken, reference paragraphs one and two, in an effort from ICH to perform repairs. At the time of construction, approximately 8-10 years ago, manufacturer's specifications were followed by ICH; product omission mentioned by complainant was not required due to height of wall. The sea wall failure was due to an act of god which is not covered with warranty by ICH or insurance carrier for ICH. ICH feels this complaint for improper installation alleged not to specs is unwarranted. ICH/Arthur Cox take pride in services offered using many different products to construct and install walls, patios, walkways, etc. and are installed to meet manufacturer's specifications and governing agencies.
