On 6/2/16, the customer called and stated that his 8kW generator cranked but would not startWe responded on 6/3/and arrived to find the customer had been informed by the previous owner that the choke plate was sticking causing the failure to start problemOur technician checked
the choke plate and found it was working properlyFurther testing determined that the gas regulator on the generator had failedThis problem kept fuel from getting to the engine hence the unit would not startThe technician was able to force the regulator to open and he then was able to start the generatorThe customer was apprised of the findings and authorized our return trip with the fuel regulatorIt should also be mentioned here that our technician did advise the customer that the age of the battery was undeterminable and he may wish to replace itThe customer said he would deal with that himself.The repair part was ordered from the factory and we returned on 6/14/The new regulator was installed and the generator was testedAll systems were working properlyThe customer was shown that the generator is now functionalThis is the second time during our testing that the choke plate worked fine, indicating to us that it is okayAlmost three weeks later on 7/5/16, the customer called and informed us that the generator would not startThe technician arrived on 7/8/and found the choke plated was not movingWe advised the customer of the various things that may be needed to repair the unit and the cost for each possible item that may be requiredAt this point the customer complained about the entire situation and told us our services were no longer neededThe customer was not charged for this tripIn conclusion we had three service trips to the site not four as indicated and the customer was not charged for the third tripWe consider the situation closed and no further repairs will be performed on this unitBest regards,
