We always strive to provide excellent service in terms of quality of work,...

timely pickups, professional behavior and customer service. We recognize that there is a human element and that there is room for error. After careful evaluation and numerous complaints from our drivers, we have decided that the demands of said passenger were not able to be met by our company. Unfortunately we have decided to deny future transportation. When a taxicab arrives at the place to which it has been called by a passenger, the driver shall give notice of his arrival to such person, and for the first three (3) minutes following notice, there shall be no time charge for waiting. For any waiting time thereafter, the waiting charge authorized by the current schedule may be charged. The fare schedule in use by our taxicabs is always displayed on the exterior of the taxicab in a format prescribed by the license administrator, designed to be readable by potential passengers.
Based on the regulations set forth by the licensing administrator, the mileage charge is ($0.40) for each (1/5) mile, waiting charge is ($0.40) per each one minute of waiting time and the extra passenger charge is ($0.65) for each extra passenger. We do not refuse transportation to passengers on the basis of race, sex, gender, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, age; handicap. We do reserve the right to refuse service if there is a belief that is reasonable under the circumstances that transporting such person might be unsafe for the operator. Our taxi meters are inspected at least two (2) and not more than five (5) times each year, on a schedule or on unannounced times as determined by the license administrator, they are inspected by the department of code enforcement, and are established whether the taximeter is operating properly.
The passenger required that we give a non-profit discount because she was employed for a non-profit organization; being that she was a passenger in a public for hire vehicle the passenger is required to pay what is displayed on the meter. At the request of a passenger we do offer a 10% discount for any fare over $10. This discount was not satisfying to the passenger; she decided on her own that she would give the driver the same amount she has paid In the past, despite the fact that a flat rate was not set, only a 10% discount from the meter amount.
 
The incident that occurred on this day coupling with several other issues that have risen from transporting this passenger has left us with no choice but to discontinue our services. Unfortunately we feel this is the best option moving forward for the interest of our company and the passenger.
