IndyWest Harley-Davidson Reviews (1)

I purchased a motorcycle here on 7-3-15 and have had nothing but bad experiences since. 1st issue when I bought the bike I bought a quick detach tour pack with the bike which they had to order to color match (no issue there) get the phone call that it's in to come and get it. I make it home from work in time to get the bike and head there and have it put on. I arived and it is in 3 boxes stacked up together that were as big as me. I asked what was going on that it was supposed to be ready to put on the bike that why I rode it up there. The response I got was well if you want us to put it together and put it on then you will have to pay us for it. I stated that I payed for all that when I purchased the bike. The next response I got was well I don't know what to tell you but if you want us to do it you will have to pay for it. I made a complaint with no response from anyone at Indy West Harley Davidson. I said I would never do buisness with them again at that time. I really wish I would have went with my gut and stayed away but I listened to a couple of friends that said that it was just a fluke incident and to please give them another chance so unfortunately I did. Issue #2 when I purchased the motorcycle they gave me 1 year of free service. As much as I never wanted to do any buisness there again I decided to use this free service. I go to pick it up and they hand me a bill for $320.00. I had to argue with them cause they acted like they had never heard of this before until l I found a card in my wallet that proved it. They did not charge me then and I drove away. At that time my motor sounded funny like it had a pecking noise and I though to myself I must be paranoid because I have never let anyone touch one of my bikes but me (for this exact reason) but this is my first brand new bike off the showroom floor and didn't want to interfere with any of the warranty on it. I pre-paid for a cabin in the smokey mountains with some friends and thought I'd get the services completed the week before I went. I head off for my trip with friends and get approximately 100 miles into it and the motor starts knocking really loud so I get pulled over and start checking what's up. I found that oil was bone dry. It appeared that the oil had been drained from the motor and not refilled (not only my opinion it is also the opinion of everyone that was with me and a couple of them are mechanics). I called them to tell them what was going on and originally on the phone they reacted like they new they messed up and said they would get someone to help me immediaty. Which I thought they were sending someone from Cincinnati Harley 28 mi away or from Florence KY Harley 11 mi away but after a 2.5 hr wait they sent someone from their shop to put oil in it which he did. After putting oil in it found that at a minimum the rings are now bad and blowing oil out the exhaust and smoking really bad. The tech called his boss and then stated to me they would take it back and fix it and get me a loner bike so I could finish my vacation but I'd have to pay out of pocket for it. So I called and spoke with the service manager and he said the same thing to me. When I said I'm not paying anything out of pocket for any of it that I'm not the one who did bad work and tore it up. The response I got was well I don't know what to tell you then but if you want it fixed then you will have to make a claim with the warranty company.I ended our conversation at this point. There was no point in continuing it. It cost me 2 days of my 4 day vacation and not sure how much to actually get fixed since I have not been able to get the repairs done yet. I have made attempts to get some so%the of response from the owner or upper management with no luck for the 2nd time. I have tried to pass my story along to anyone that rides and have been getting a lot of bad instances told back to me. I am no longer attempting to get resolve with them (they had that opportunity several times to no avail) I just want anyone who might do buisness with them to know how they treat their customers and beg them to please not do any buisness with them or the 4 other dealers owned by the same person
